Sunday in the rain--

--Holy Cow!-- It is the 23rd of November-and it is SUNDAY__-  We are VERY close--- to Christmas----

Last night I ate a lovely meal at Son#3's home--His wife cooked chicken over Basmati rice with a green salad--  It is lovely to eat with people!---They have a very cute new kitten--long fur--  orange , white and black fur--so sweet!---It seems that Christmas just might be held at their house. We try to change where , which home,  every year--

It was a busy day yesterday,  having to deal  with Amazon--  AND THE STUFF THEY ARE SENDING (without my request)--multiples of--and trying to return whatever is not easy either--Son#3 was just here to help me do all that-

Words I wish I had written--
#1. Get up early three mornings and you'll gain a half day--
#2.Your children are with you, yet they do not belong to you--
#3.-No one can tell you how long you should mourn.

Blasts from the past--interesting--just look how small the children are--

So---
Time to get on with the day--raining here outside-nice to have rain--not snow---I must pick up a few groceries , maybe this afternoon--seems that I am always at the grocery store--
Hopefully this rain does not turn to snow later on in the day--although it usually does--

but----  we cannot  crawl back inside our lost innocence--
It takes "strength " to carry on---and on--and on--Did I tell you that our hospital here in town is going to honour Fred, at the tree of lights ?  What a lovely honour that is!-- He would be so proud--something he truly deserves--

  1. How wonderful that the hospital is honoring Fred at the Tree of Lights! So well deserving as he was such a loved doctor and contributed so much to the community! Love that son#3 has a cute little kitten! I love kittens and it is so precious to see them romp and play! My two wee kittens have turned into big cats! Marley weighs 15 pounds and Mimi weighs 20! But the vet says they are doing fine....both are big boned hahaha! They don't romp and play as much as they are 5 1/2 years old now...but they are wonderful company for me. I find myself talking to them and they seem to understand when I tell them about why I am happy or upset about things!

  2. Good Sunday Morning,
Nice that Son#3 had you out for dinner and you didn't have to eat alone.
I hope you get your Amazon order straightened out. I have to return a few things that I got yesterday because they didn't fit the way I wanted them to. Luckily, I can return most items at our local Kohl's store, since they handle returns for Amazon.
How wonderful the hospital is going to honor Fred. That's a lovely tribute to how much he was loved and respected in the community.
I don't know about you, but I would much rather have snow than rain. Luckily, we don't have either here today. It's cool but sunny!

    Have a great day!

  3. Good morning, sis.
It's a lovely day here. 44F and sunny.
Your blasts of the sweet kids are great. They do grow up, though. Wish they could stay small longer...purrfect kittens, too.
As I told you on my comment yesterday, I have never had trouble with Amazon, but several other sites I have. Sorry you had to cancel with them.
What a great tribute to Fred. He will probably be there to witness it...in Spirit, of course. Our soul does go on, you know.
Glad you had a great meal. Your daughter-in-law's cooking sounds really good.
Hoping something on my biopsies comes tomorrow.
Now I am driving to a neighboring town to pick up a FREE recumbent exercise bike. I'm selling this one I have trouble mounting on Facebook Marketplace.
Time to have a bite to eat first. Will come back later. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  4. It's Kathy. What a beautiful memory of your dear Himself! And what a lovely photograph. I'm so happy to hear that they will be honoring him at the Tree of Lights. He so deserves that honor. He was a beloved physician and was likely someone who everyone in Elliot Lake had met at one time or another. Your dinner last night sounds so yummy! I am finally feeling good enough to actually start cooking what I consider "real food". Tomorrow I'm doing my mom's Beef Vegetable Soup in the slow cooker. She cooked it over the stove but I like to let it simmer in the slow cooker - doing the work in the morning when I'm still feeling good. By late afternoon I'm tired and my back starts to give me trouble. I hope you have a lovely Sunday. It's a top 10 weather day here - sunny and in the 50's. Probably the last day for yard work although I've done as much as I am going to do this year! Take care.

  5. Hi Lynda! It is sunny and 51 in Ohio but in the 30’s later in the week. How nice you had dinner with your son and his wife last night! Gosh, your Amazon there sounds terrible. No problems with it in the US for me. I would refuse the extra two packages coming your way. That is wonderful that Himself will be honored. Much deserved is right! My nephew comes this evening for the week. I am super excited! Hope your day is lovely! Hugs!

  10. Thank you for sharing Fred's obituary at the end of the post. It is wonderful that the hospital will be honoring him this Christmas season, and very appropriate. He gave so much back to the community, and the next generation is blessed by the presence of your entire family. What a great example.

I know you're missing him, every day, and I loved the 3rd item: "no one can tell you how long you should mourn". Honor is found in the examples of those he loved and served.
