ItIt is New Year's Day--Thursday, January 1st--very cold! The sun is just coming up--You can see it, just peeking over the back fence--It was extremely cold outside last night--minus "something awful-" Little Lopez has not been out yet---too cold for the wee fellow--
I must take my 3ft Xmas tree down--box it up for another year-- And yesterday, I did pick up my Son's friend--and we went for breakfast at Son#1's restaurant--It did help to pass the day--again--a very very cold day-

Happy New Year Lynda!
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice picture of the sun coming up. Yes, it looks like you got a nice amount of snow. And poor Lopez, I don't blame him for not wanting to go out. He might get lost in the snow. When we had small dogs, we used to shovel paths in the back yard so they could go the bathroom.
How fun for Son#2 and family to be in Las Vegas over the holidays. I have been there a few times in the summer and it's busy and HOT. But, at least it's a dry heat, not a lot of humidity, so it makes it a little more bearable.
Glad you got to go out for breakfast with son's friend and to your Son's restaurant.
Cute pics of the grand kids!
Have a good day and stay warm!
Hugs,
Jackie
Oh Jackie--How good to hear from yu--Yes I shovel a trail for the little Lopez and he likes to use that--He is so tiny eh??-- Happy New Year--Lynda

Wishing you a very Happy New Year Lynda. Beautiful shot of the sunrise, but it does look cold. You managed to get out yesterday and have lunch with your son's friend. Good for both of you to have company over a meal. You have a beautiful family. Thanks for sharing the photos.

DeleteHi Lynda, wishing you a Happy and Healthy 2026.
ReplyDeleteIt's so dark, dreary and cold in St.Louis. I feel like hibernating, at least until we get some sun.
Nice that you and Dave got out and ate at #1 restaurant.
Im envious #2 is in wam Vegas. Lots to do there and its warm. Lucky him and family.
Hope you got a spot for your tree. You must be running out of room by now. I took our tree down several days ago but nativity set is still up. The other Christmas decorations also got packed up and put away
Do you have plans with your kids today?
I love your words of wisdom.
Be warm and safe.
Marge/ St.Louis
only a 3ft tree--I took it down to-day also--Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda: Happy New Years to you. Hope this year goes well for you. Nice that you finally got together with son #1's friend. I'm envious of son #2 and family being in the warmth instead of here in the freezing cold. Sure is hard to walk a dog in this weather with ice everywhere as well. Poor Lopez - at least my dog has lots of fur to keep her warm! Have a good day. Hugs Brenda
ReplyDeleteYes poor Lopez in the bad weather--and it is really cold--Lynda
DeleteWishing you a Happy and Prosperous New Year! I am hopeful that 2026 will be a calm, uneventful year for me! I feel like I lost a whole year of my life, but being back in my house is wonderful....just hoping for no more "challenging situations"! But good health and faith in God got me through 2025! Please keep up your wonderful blogs....they are an inspiration for me to be strong and keep going forward! Sending {{HUGS}} to you!

DeleteHappy New Year, Lynda! As you sometimes say, it's another YEAR to get it right, whatever "right" is, as there really is no absolute "right." Just, what is it they say, do the next right thing, one day at a time, one moment at a time. I'm pretty content, I have 5 days off from work, can't complain about that! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was my first New Year without my boyfriend of 8 years, which was kind of sad, but not really. I did grocery pickup, bought a cheese ball and crackers and two small bottles of the bubbly just for me, and at 10 'til 12, watched the ball drop, then turned back to my true crime show. Went to bed about 2, and slept like the dead until 10:30. Watching the Rose Bowl Parade has always been a family tradition, so I taped it, and then might turn on some football later. I'm not a huge football fan, but having dated my boyfriend who WAS, it's kind of the thing to do. College football, that is. Watched the Bucks lose yesterday, as well. They just didn't play very well, I was pretty disgusted. Oh well. We must move on!

Oh, p.s. John and I used to make a pork tenderloin dinner together, I do miss that, but when I popped into the store to grab a few more things, things were really, really picked over. I was gonna grab a premade one, presliced, and have it with Bob Evans mashed potatoes, but those were all gone. I decided to make my own tradition this year and grabbed makings for green bean casserole, a holiday favorite of mine! I will eat my fill of that, and be content enough. Here's to us singleton's making the best of it! ππππππ

DeleteIt's Kathy. Yes, we MUST take advantage of the good days! Today my DH and I slept in - I took Daisy out (very cold here too), fed her and crawled back into bed where it was warm. But now I'm very behind! Happy New Year to you Lynda!
