Visiting himself in Hospital--

Good day to you --- We have been into Peterborough to see Himself--Whatta great hospital--huge--new--well equipped--  lotza staff on site--including specialists--

Himself has been moved to a floor--lovely well equipped room--His own bathroom--a bulletin board on his wall with a lot of his "likes" and "dislikes" --his meds---  His nurses name---and space to ask questions-- and a huge picture window to look at the sunrise. We had to put on PPE , probably  due to his  Double Pneumonia--

He is alert. happy, still on massive antibiotics  by IV.,  and intravenous drip---- I think he is a bit better---  and seems like he has more energy, but he will not be getting out of there for awhile--Altho he is becoming his "old bossy" self which is good to see---  He must be feeling a lot better-

The hospital is impressive---  with a Tim Hortons in the dining room--

Spring it seems has arrives here in Lakefield, so I am putting away my heavy winter Parka--and lugging out a Spring jacket-----------do not need winter boots anymore ---

We will go back to see Himself this afternoon---

Son#2 was supposed to be flying to Brazil today--instead he is driving in to Peterborough to  help his Dad--Whatta boy!---Hope you are making your day special--

  2. Hi Lynda! Great news he is in a room now and improving. So happy you are having Spring weather. So nice of the pilot to stay close to that wonderful hospital to help out with Fred. It is high 73 and sunny here in Ohio. How lovely it is and I just went for an iced coffee. Hope you are enjoying your weather. It is nice so your travels to the hospital are much easier. Take care strong lady. Hugs!

  3. Glad that the hospital in Petersborough is nice! Makes you feel more confident having Himself there.

If he’s feeling bossy, he’s definitely improving. That’s a good sign. Glad he’s in a room that he can see the sunrise.

Oh my goodness, Matt is a GREAT guy. So good you have him to help. You are STRONGER than STRONG, but it is wonderful to have back-up.

    Hugs and continued prayers.

  4. Lynda, whata great blog! Himself seems better, Matt is staying to help his parents, spring has sprung!
It has sprung here, too. A friend saw a robin yesterday...that's a sure thing.
My new recliner cover came. It says 1 person can cover the chair, but it's easier with 2. Hope I can do it.
Hope Himself keeps improving. Hope you and Matt get some rest in, too. And Lopez and Sushi...well, they always get enough rest, don't they?
Lucky is asleep and I am going to join him. Will be back later.

  5. Good morning Lynda, and thank you for sharing such encouraging news. If Fred is getting bossy, you know he's getting better. Great that he's in such an advanced medical facility. I wonder if after his stay at the hospital, he'll have better access to having one of the doctors as his primary care physician. Wouldn't that be great if he had a doctor that you could call when Fred's under the weather? Maybe you could latch onto the same doctor. Matt is such a wonderfully caring son. Take care of yourself and my prayers continue for the two of you.

  6. A collection of good news here in the blog. So grateful for your son #2 who is really stepping up to help out! And what good news about the hospital, its staff, and Himself's health progress, too. I remember decades ago being worried about my older sister's health (she was in hospital at the time), and noting one day when I got irritated at her, and I realized that meant she was exhibiting signs of being her "old self". When I read that about Himself becoming his old "bossy" self it made me think of that... you're grateful for the signs of improvement, even when they show up as seemingly "negative" things... it means that normal might just be returning!

Hugs & prayers still a-going, down here in the Unexplainable States of America. Love my Canadian friends!

    2. I kind of doubt it, and I might just be a shade suspicious if he comes across as "nice". Makes you wonder what makes him tick, doesn't it?

  8. Oh, the blessings in this post!!!

So glad to hear Fred is feeling better enough to be bossy ... do you think he will tell the nurses what to do, as he's a doctor??? And it sounds as though the hospital is wonderful; having a well-equipped and staffed hospital is a good thing. Not being released too soon is a good thing so Fred can recover well with close medical attention; sometimes people are released home too soon and it's all about the money/insurance. It's good for you and the kids, so you feel more confident of him being okay when he comes home.

Now that it's Spring, we are having snow showers the past day or so. It's not sticking at my house, but I can see it heavy on the mountains, and our ski resorts are still open. So, still got my winter coats out. :D

Prayers for you, Fred and the children.

What a good thing that Son #2 is able to have the time off to help you and his dad.

  9. It's Kathy. Well, this is very good news. I like hearing that himself is getting back to his old bossy self - that does seem to be a good indicator of his feeling better. And good for Son #2 who was willing to drive you to Peterborough. I haven't put my boots away just yet - they say we could get snow this weekend. But it's over 70 degrees today! It would be a good day for a walk with Daisy but I'm just too tired! I also have hopes that spring is just around the corner! Take care!

    1. Really good news! This is Marti. I made it through the week, and am feeling better, but still a few coughing fits. They go away if I pop a cough drop.

It is 79 degrees here, and I decided to go ahead and put out my spring/summer yard decorations, because it's supposed to be very stormy this weekend and I don't know what next weekend will bring. That's central Ohio weather for you! Take care!

  10. Hi Lynda, thanks for all the positive updates. So glad Fred's better, bossy and hes in a very nice, modern facility with full staff.
Matt is unbelievable. He's staying grounded to help his parents. God bless him. Great son. I'm elated he's upstairs and so helpful.
I loved the inserts. The first one is great.
We're under severe weather alerts. Winds of 70mph, hail, possible tornadoes. It's been too warm too soon. It was 83F today. I put on shorts this afternoon.
Prayers continue for you both. So glad Fred's doing better.
Take care of you! Piano is tuned...please play it soon.

  12. Hi Lynda: Glad Fred is doing a lot better. And he probably loves being in the office with all the medical people around!. Great that Matt changed his schedule to stay around and help out both of you guys. Now you need to look after yourself - you won't be any good to Fred if you wear yourself out. Take care.
