Stay Strong!

"Turn yourself Around"--as if that is easy eh?

BUT --THAT HOKEY POKEY CLINIC---just might be what we  need!----Lord love a Duck! Some days we must try harder--I do know that!--

So, it is cold this AM--dark also-- but, I do see the sun coming up in the distance --with a pinkish glow to it--That must be--"HOPE"___ALWAYS-- THERE IS HOPE!

Lopez and I are up--Sushi fed--  her litter cleaned--  The heat is on (but I do not feel it yet!--)  So, we have the TV on here--watching CNN--Hoping to hear  how everyone in Jamaica is---We have not heard anything yet--  probably all the phones are out----- Angie, Fred's niece has a resort there--FDR resort--right on the ocean-- No news is good news, I hope!!-----I believe even the airport in Montego Bay is closed so far--

I think the cleaning Ladies come here to-day--That will be so nice! -----So--Last night, I ate at Son#1's restaurant--by myself--I am becoming used to sitting at a table, by myself--and ordering a meal, and eating most of it--I bring the rest home, for lunch the next day--I have to force myself to to do that--I did meet a friend from years gone by--a lovely Lady who has asked me to have lunch with her several years ago-- People really are nice you know--So many people are in the "same boat as I am"--

I just heard-- "Daylight Saving time"--this weekEnd--Holy Smo-ley------ So much to remember--  Can all of you remind me to change the clocks?  (that are not even up yet)-   Saturday night I guess--the clocks---  Please remind me!-----

So-_  to-day--  Be Beautiful----  Be Happy-- Try to be at peace---Be "YOU", --"Be Loving"---"Try to be confident", --but--best of all, "Be Positive!"

It's a new day, and here we are--a part of it!

  1. Good for you, sister! (eating out alone). I do it quite frequently, all but the one restaurant where this man stared at me with what looked like pity in his eyes. Most people don't even notice. But that particular restaurant is kind of loud and boisterous, and I don't want to be looked at with pity when there is nothing to look at, LOL

  2. Good morning! It’s 39 in Ohio with rain coming in tonight through Friday! Good for you going to eat alone. I am sure eating at his restaurant makes you more comfortable. No news must be good news for Angie we pray.. Praying for all of them! Hope your house warmed up by now. Oh, I do not want to change the clocks this weekend! It’s already dark too early. I always want to be home before dark and now it will be so early. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday! Hugs!

  3. Happy Wednesday!
Sounds like you are up and at em this morning Lynda. I was too. I don't know why but I want to get up and get going on chores and stuff with the hopes I will have some down time after dinner. But, that doesn't usually happen. I think I finally sit down to relax about 8pm. Then I am wiped out. I guess being active is a good thing.
That's a good step going to a restaurant and eating by yourself. I have done that but it's been a while. Maybe take a book or scroll on your phone if it you makes you more comfortable doing it.
    Cold and rainy here today!
Yep, time change this weekend. I am not ready for it to be dark at 6pm. But, at least it will be lighter earlier in the morning.
    Have an awesome day!

  4. Hi Lynda, it's Kathy. Good for you for going to your son's restaurant and having dinner. You may be sitting alone but at least there are other people around.and you're getting a good meal that you didn't have to cook yourself. Sounds like a win to me. I did hear on the news this morning that Jamaica was hit pretty hard on one side of the island. I hope you hear from your family soon. We occasionally have tornados in Minnesota but I've never been through a hurricane. Wishing you the best day today!

    1. Hi Lynda
Good on you...yes, you can eat alone....or invite a friend. It really isn't a big deal if you decide its not a big deal. You know lots of people there...ask someone to go with you.

Praying things are OK with Fred's family in Jamaica.

Time change ugh....gets dark so early and I like to be home before dark. Seems its dark most of the time when the time changes in the fall.

      Enjoy your clean house.

  5. Wow! Good for you for going to the restaurant and sitting alone! I have not been brave enough to do that in the past 6 years since my hubby died! I am proud of you! Maybe I will be inspired by you to step out and do it! Rainy and chilly here too. I got up earlier than usual today and it was really dark out! Maybe the time change will change that! I really dislike changing the clocks back and forth each spring and fall....they say it is not good for your circadian rhythm (personal body clock) and other things like more frequent accidents occur because of the mixed up sleep pattern when we spring forward and/or fall back! I am sticking close to home today - went to my yoga class but plan on working on the inventory that I am still struggling with! I have to have it all submitted soon or I won't be reimbursed by my insurance company! So much to still do in the house also, but being back home is wonderful! Praying that your family in Jamaica made it through the awful storm!

  6. Ladies, I have an interesting statement to make, maybe you'll be brave enough to try these things, too! :)

When my husband passed, about 12 yrs ago or so, he used to spoil me with fixing up an Easter basket, flowers for Valentine's Day and out to dinner, candy for Halloween, go out to eat whenever I wanted and (pretty much) wherever I wanted, within reason, lots of presents (whatever I wanted, basically) at Christmas, you get the gist. Well, after he passed, I decided I was either going to be sad about it, or I was going to give MYSELF those things, and go wherever I wanted and get myself whatever I wanted (within reason). And so I did. I bought myself flowers for Valentine's Day, candy, dined out wherever, whenever, bought myself Xmas presents and wrapped them and put them under the tree, etc. No vacations, yet, by myself, can't afford that, but anyway, you can't wait for people to love you, treat you, and have fun, you have to treat YOURSELF! I don't have any friends here where I live now, and only see my old friends back from where I used to live about once or twice a year, so it's either sit around the house and feel sorry for myself, or get OUT there.

So, don't hesitate to do those things! Oh, and I also go to movies by myself. No one knows, in the dark. I can't wait to go see Wicked, Part 2! :)

    Marti

p.s. I don't go as overboard as I did when he first passed, but I DID learn to go out and about by myself.

  7. Glad to hear you decided to try eating out alone and did not find it too difficult. I do that, and have found it to be reasonably easy. I think there are more and more singles out doing their own thing, either by choice or necessity, so we are not alone in our solo outings. I have also taken the advice of Marti. I get myself treats and gifts, and I attend cultural events alone, even went to the No Kings Protest in another town alone a couple of weeks ago and met all kinds of lovely people. I have also traveled alone, either signing up to meet a tour group in Europe, or here in North America. I have done several road trips alone, and have found it to be fairly easy and safe, but I do always wish my husband was along to enjoy the trip. Maybe he is? I have hiked alone in some lovely National Parks that I have visited. Anyway, when I do something by myself that I am feeling a little nervous or uncomfortable doing, I just tell myself that other people do this everyday, so I can do it too, and what is the worst that can happen? I am 72, life is short, so keep moving and doing what you can.
I hope your family is safe in Jamaica. It looks like it was a devastating storm. Susan/Colorado

  8. Good early evening, sis.
I am sure you will hear from your niece soon. Himselfs relatives are your in-laws so they are your relatives, too. We are all praying.
You are lucky to have cleaning ladies. Cherish them. Maybe a tip at Christmas.
I just got back from the dinner theater production of White Christmas with my daughter. I thought it was last Saturday so drove up to find no one home. Saturday was the Halloween party at karaoke. Got the dates mixed up.
Got most of my routine done, too...except a nap. I may turn in early tonight. We'll see.
I'll chec for comments later, Lynda. Hope your day has gone well and your house is sparkling. {{{HUGS}}} Love Maggie
