Time, Slow Mornings, and the Freedom to choose--

Good morning y'all-----
October the 12th--Thanksgiving Day in Canada----(I think!)-
You see, yesterday I got the day wrong--I am trying harder to-day to check it out before I tell you all--

So, I was told to make the Pumpkin Pies--like-- I always used to---  but-- (the big "BUTT"---)--I had a full sized kitchen then--I also had my mix master machine--my large bowls-----  (I want to cry--because---  I have none of that now--and my kitchen is tiny-)-not much counter space at all to roll out dough--so----  I must improvise somehow--and have the pumpkin pies ready for dinner this evening-for a herd of people--Lord love a Duck!

I suppose I can just "wing" it!---somehow---

So, it is "dark as the Ace of Spades"- this morning, outside! -Dad's expression--I cannot walk wee Lopez in the dark--I might run into a wild animal--

I must tell you, that yesterday , I was filling the car with gas--at the gas station, and a Lady  came up to me and asked me if I was Lynda Young?--I told her "yes"--  She then said, "You are back"---I told her "YES" --I returned-"--- She went on to say that Fred was her Doctor , and went on to tell me, how much she missed him,---and--that her husband had died also--AND --she lives close to me, in another tiny house like mine.--We chatted and I felt so good to meet her-- She is lonely also-- missed her other life with her husband--like I do!

I must admit however that I am getting used to my new life--in my tiny house--I would rather have my "other life"---but--that is not happening-- so---- I must adjust--
Strength-----  attitude----courage ---It takes all of that---but we are all of those---I just must think Positively--  believe that Someone  is watching over us--think positive---  get some exercise in-- AND--BELIEVE IN ONESELF!----

  1. Good morning, Lynda! You do what works for you on the pies today. Not worth the stress. Oh, you should meet up with the nice lady at the gas station. Everyone loved Dr. Young! So happy you are adjusting in your cute place and being alone more. So hard but I bet the fur babies help so much. Hope your Thanksgiving is lovely. It’s a beautiful day in Ohio. I am having a friend over for coffee on the back porch. It will be nice. Enjoy your holiday. Hugs!

  2. Good Morning!
I did see on my calendar that tomorrow, Oct. 13th, is Thanksgiving in Canada. My husband used to work for a Canadian company for several years and he would get off US holidays as well as Canadian Holidays.
As for the pies, can you buy pre made crusts and just make the filling? It would make it easier for you. It will all work out. I am sure your family will just be glad you are there with them.
Maybe you could strike a friendship with the lady at the gas station. Who know you might find you have some things in common and a friend to do things with.
    Anyway, have a great day!

  3. You didn't post a blog yesterday, and I must admit, I am addicted to them, and so I worried that you were not well or something. I had forgotten it was Canadian Thanksgiving. It sounds like you enjoyed. Natural that you were down afterwards - first big holiday without Fred.

I still keep missing my ex bf, thinking about the good times we used to have, thinking, am I nuts for breaking up with him? But when I think about him sitting here with me, I think, nah, I just miss the companionship. It's like you say - life goes on and on. People come in and out of our lives all the time.

  4. Hi Lynda,
Don't stress about pies. Relax, deep breaths and let it go. Different kitchen but kind of hard to mess up pumpkin pie. They'll be great.
I hope you will contact lady at gas station. It could be a win win for both of you. A possible new friend to do things with and someone going through the same journey as you. Please reach out.
    Have a great day.
