I am going to visit a place that makes meals for seniors--frozen meals--It would eliminate me eating in a restaurant every evening-and may be a tad cheaper also---I just might give them a try--Being a "senior" is hard----kinda lonely also--and to add to all the difficulties, is my stupid "thyroid" thing--although it seems to be quite normal now-if it stays that way--I go back to my Dr., on the 24th--
"AGING is really "YOU NEVER KNOW" --TIME OF LIFE"--one day, you wake up and feel like you are 3 yrs past you Expiration Date----another day you wake up and feel 35 and full of energy---and happy --you woke up----- confusing isn't it??
Anyway, it IS a new day here--and we will cope-- It Is a new day--The sun is shining here-- and here we are--a part of this day--So--Get out there-- and lets face the music---- Oh-----
It's Kathy. You're right, aging is certainly not for the faint of heart! Today is one of those days - I didn't sleep well, it's cold outside, and I just want to stay in the house where it's warm. But I'm signed up for a class at the gym so I think I'll make myself at least do that. Oh, and I got a frantic phone call from Lauriellen this morning - she freaks out over everything these days. I just pray all this custody stuff comes to an end soon - it's been almost 3 years and Bryan is still harassing her. The boys aren't real happy to spend time with him anymore either! I hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry yu have to deal with your daughters marriage, plus your hands are tied also---- It must be so difficult--and as long as she has the boys , she has to deal with the Dad-- and so difficult for you both--It must be hard!-- Hugs to yu-Lynda
DeleteDon't be weird....what else can I be? Lol
ReplyDeleteThe inserts are so true. Thanks for posting.
Good news on your thyroid. Hope it lasts.
The frozen meals is the answer. No cooking but getting a real dinner. Do they have meals on wheels up there? Here, seniors can get meals delivered to their homes for a nominal price 5 days a week or frozen, if you prefer. It certainly will be less expensive than eating out. Good idea to check it out. Hoping it's something you'll like. You can always try it for a bit and cancel if you don't like.
Life is change. For sure. Stay strong positive. We can do this.
Hugs
Marge/St.Louis
Hi Marge--I went to the meal place--There certainly is a variety there as well as soups--Hopefully they are tasty--The price is right anyway-- Lynda
DeleteGlad to hear your thyroid is doing OK! I take meds every day for mine. Have to do the blood work thing every year to determine if the meds are doing what they are supposed to do! I am still unpacking and I have pictures and photographs everywhere! Feeling a bit overwhelmed but happy to be alive although I don't feel 35! hahaha! But when I go to bed at night, I feel good about whatever it was that I accomplished. And I don't cook much anymore....can't because I don't have time to grocery shop, so there is nothing here to make a meal with! Cereal, hot dogs, yogurt have been my diet lately! So the frozen meals sound like a good thing to me!
ReplyDeleteThese meals seem good--=haven't tried them yet-- soups also-- I shall let you know--$4 a meal--- seems good--Lynda--PS--I have pictures leaning against every wall in each room-- LOL-- It will; come together one day-Lynda
DeleteGood morning (barely), sis.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the kids will appreciate the photos you drop off to them. At least you won't need to figure out where to store or display them.
I just had my 'redetermination' done. Basically, it's renewing my lease for another year. My rent went from $607 to $670 starting next month.
It's a lovely day. Lots of sun, but cool. I'm actually in sweatpants and lined sweatshirt today. My weather app says rain comint in 3.5 hours.
Aging does have its issues. I used to almost never ask for help. Now it seems like I'm usually wishing I had some.
I had packages delivered today! New winter bathrobe, rain jacket, beautiful blouse and 'alert...pet inside' stickers for my windows and apartment door.
It's almost time for lunch and snooze now for Lucky and I. Then it will be garbage, etc., journal, meditate and down to our evening routine.
Oh! Tuesday, for the first time in ages, my coment didn't post. Here it is: Good afternoon, sis.
I, too, just got back from my blood dray, too. My GI doc was who wanted it, but I hope thyroid will be there, too. I am so cold all the time when others aren't. That's one sign of low thyroid!
Honey, you are blessed to have a dishwasher of whatever kind! All I have is a sink, hands and Dawn dish soap!
Yes, that big hug helps me feel strong...and capable.
You will get things sorted out sooner or later. And then what will you do?
I am happy people like that you've returned.
I had to drive in torrential rain on the way to the veteran hospital. Feel like I went through a war. Lunch for me and Lucky now...then I'm gonna take a nap.
Be back later to check. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
Miss Maggie--Your rent is cheaper than here--about $1300 month here--but you got your place all settled now-- good--Your stickers sound interesting--It is horrible to drive in hard rain-- I know how yu must've felt--Yes, I need help --a lot-- LOOK FOR THOSE HELPERS__WE need them--- and yes, I do like this tiny dishwasher---It feels like it belongs here-- $900 however!!! --- OH Mggie evertyday we must be happy to be alive eh??---Big hugs, Lynda
DeleteAbout the pictures you can't hang, you can get rid of the frames and just save the actual picture. Another option is to have the pictures scanned onto card and buy a digital picture frame for you to keep and then give the paper pics to the appropriate family. If they want to toss, you will still have them on your digital frame that you can hang or put on a table/shelf/whatever and see whenever you want. If there's no one local who could scan, there's scanmyphotos.com and other places.
ReplyDeletegreat ideas--- because there are SO so many pictures--I love your idea!-Lynda
DeleteYou are smart to take any little bit of help that you need to make your life a little easier. HOPE that the frozen meals work out. It’s good to have a little break from cooking and restaurant eating.
ReplyDeleteI love that meme re: aging. Sooooo true.
The sun is shining here, too. Loving that.
My Mom and I spent the better part of a year getting photographs organized. She made an album for my brother and myself. It is a treasure. Lots of work. But so satisfying.
HUGS!

DeleteLynda, Marti here. I just buy frozen dinners for every night. They are in your local supermarket in the frozen section. But, we also have a program here in Ohio, at least in Central Ohio, called "Meals on Wheels." They deliver fresh meals every day to the elderly, and in my condo community most everyone is elderly here. Including me, LOL. You have to be home to receive them, however, and I am at work from 9:30 to 2:30, or sometimes until 5, if I feel like it. I also often go through the drive thru to get McDonald's, Chipotle, Arby's, Wendy's, or Taco Bell. I have a fondness for fast food. These are all 5 minutes away down the street.
ReplyDeleteI have a wonderful non stick electric griddle, and often make grilled cheese sandwiches for myself and/or my boyfriend. I just wipe it off and it folds up and it slides right between my fridge and my indoor grill. And then heat up some soup, and call that dinner. You can also have mac 'n cheese, spaghetti and prepared sauce, or other such simple meals, that you can cook yourself.
Yes look for the helpers--- LOL--- the already made up meals--Those frozen meals teally help us---I love cheese sandwiches toasted also-=-great helpers--LOL--Lynda
