We are so fortunate to live where we do!

I am usually not a very religious person--but, listening to to-day's news about Ukraine and the people living there, it is upsetting, to say the least. How are those people  handling this?-- How would I handle this?-----Will it lead to more ?-- -And the markets go down--

The propane truck pulled in here yesterday-- gave us almost 1000 gallons of Propane-- almost $1000.00

What do these people in Ukraine--do??-- How do they continue on with their lives?--And it has been such a cold snowy winter this year here--and I thought that was bad?-- We at least have heat and food--and our lives continue on--

Anyway, Son #3 is back from the nations capital-- They drove back in a terrible snow storm--- It was something he never wanted to do--but---  he did--

It is almost minus 30C here this AM--so so cold! And little Lopez went out, in his Parka and did his business---Whatta good little fellow!

To-morrow , Himself goes for a brain scan at our local hospital------  I shall have to be up early to get him there--

I am hoping that yu all can cheer "ME" up to-day--Lord love a duck!---WE are so fortunate to live where we do!

  3. Prayers for Ukraine, I don't think I could handle living like they're forced to do. Yes Lynda, we are so fortunate to live in Canada, we have a good country in spite of the grumbles & gripes some have about it. We're free, we do have food, warmth, clothing.

The brain scan is so important right now for Fred. Be sure to let us know the results. I'm praying for him too. And safe traveling for the both of you.

Hugs to you, Fred and your furry family xoxo

  4. Praying for your trip to hospital tomorrow. Also praying for this world.
As a Christian I know God is in control. Have a good and peaceful day.
Give your little Lopez a treat for being a good boy!

  5. Yes we are very fortunate to live here and not there. Its scary to think what might happen as Putin threatens the world if countries take action against him. Hope hospital trip goes well. Glad you can go local instead of having to go to Sudbury. Thoughts and prayers are with you and Fred. And Lopez is being such a good boy!

  6. Yes, I had the very same thoughts this morning as I sat down watching the CBS morning news. I am afraid for the people in Ukraine and pray that they get some relief. All they want is to live their own lives as they choose. And although I know that all this will affect me in an indirect way, I am safe in my home and have enough heat, food, water to live comfortably. Our heating bill has been almost double what it's EVER been these last couple of months but we are also having such cold, snowy, windy days. Below 0 again this morning. Good luck with the brain scan tomorrow. Praying for safe driving weather!

  11. Oh my goodness. My heart just aches for the Ukranian people. Don’t know what we can do as individuals, but prayer. Seems to be the order of the day. I truly do not know what I’d do in their situation (and definitely do NOT want to find out, either. )

Lord have mercy, the stock market is being decimated. **SIGH**

Wow! Well, at least w/the propane will allow you to stay warm.

So happy to hear Son #3 made it back home safely. What an ordeal. Not sure what’s going to happen here, but hearing there’s a truck strike scheduled near Washington DC in the near future. **SIGH** Like there are not enough problems right now!???? **SIGH**

Kudos to Lopez! It’s cold for such a little one and Miss Lilly feels the same way.

MANY prayers for Himself and you tomorrow for his brain scan. Prayers for safe travels and a good outcome. AND some treatment helps.

  12. Reading the other Barb's comment about the stock market... yeah, I noticed that, with the statements that have come since the start of the year... my "retirement savings" have shrunk considerably already, mainly with the uncertainty in the world.

But my most selfish self was thanking God that my son is no longer in uniform, and is not sitting in Poland right now! Horribly selfish sense of gratitude as I know there are other mothers whose sons and daughters are in danger, and I'm praying for all of them!

Meanwhile, in the more immediate world... cold weather continues and we have a few dancing snowflakes, but not many. So I'll be grateful for every peace of grace (not grave) that comes my way!

Speaking of prayers, mine are also extended for answers to come from your Himself and the brain scan. Drive safe and stay warm!

  13. Wishing you safe travels tomorrow . . .we are supposed to be getting a storm tomorrow and I wouldn't like to have to go out in it. We went out to breakfast today for the 1st time in 2 years . . .it was strange to think about all that has happened and continues to happen as I type this. My heart is sad for those in the Ukraine I can't imagine their pain at seeing what is happening to their country.

  14. Yes, I've been watching the Ukraine/Russia stuff on the international news for a bit and continue to pray.

Good for Lopez, keeping up the training. And thank goodness Son#3 is back safe and sound from what had to be a stressful set of duties. And thank the good Lord that you have heat in such bitter cold.

  16. Thoughts and prayers for Ukraine citizens. Highly likely there will be fall out for all of us in other countries.
Glad your officer son is safely home. Also glad you were able to get gas to heat your home.
Safe travels tomorrow for skan and sending prayers for hope and direction on next steps.
    Be warm, safe and well.

  17. Hoping everything goes well tomorrow with the scan, that you do not have a long wait, and be nervous. Glad you got the propane, I remember when we used that. Glad your son is back safe from travel. Crossing fingers for the Ukraine people, our family came to the states from Berlin after that war. Always started by short coming males who do not measure up!!

  18. Praying that the scan gives you and Fred some answers and what are the next steps. Praying you both have a safe trip. Please keep us posted.

That is great little Lopez did his business outside when it is so cold. I know I would not have wanted to do that. I am not sure if this will happen but when you and Fred leave tomorrow and little Lopez is going to be home alone he might forget all that he has learned for a few days. But be patient with the little one he is smart and he will figure it out. He just hasn't been around long enough to understand that "his people" do come and go but they do come back. Does anyone in which ever son that moved close to you be able to go and let him out through out the day?

Yes I am praying for Ukraine and the rest of the world. This is going to effect all of us. Because of decisions made by our government we now have to get our fuel from other countries which really do not like us. Which means the middle and lower class people are going to be really hurting. I am just grateful that we are heading into warmer weather. Of course it won't be good if this is still happening in summer.

    Pray for peace.

  21. Prayers for your day today - for safe travel and that Himself's scan will go well and give you some answers. So glad you were able to get propane, that son #3 made it safely home, and little Lopez is making progress. And yes, the news out of the Ukraine is heartbreaking, I can't imagine being in that situation. I hope a peaceful resolution is found soon. Sending hugs to you for your day.
