As you must know, it has been busy here--The business began yesterday, with the 2 cleaning Ladies--who moved stuff-----did a great job cleaning--'specially the bathrooms--but-- it made me very busy =--trying to declutter--but, here I am--back--cut the cat's nails early this AM--so , my arms are all scratched-, up to my elbows--Sushi , the cat has a lot of "wild" still in her--does not like her nails trimmed--
So, in all the mix up , with "cleaners" , yesterday, I never turned on the computer--I will check comments when I get thru here-I missed you all--Do you think I will ever get unpacked, completely??-- It all seems like a hopeless mess at this point??--
Last evening, son#1, had me there , at his house, for supper--It was delightful!--When you live alone, and eat alone, one doesn't really eat well---In fact, when I eat alone, I have no appetite--I look at my plate , and then , usually, pick the plateful of food up, and dump it in the garbage--Isn't that so wasteful?--And yet, last night at Son#1's , I ate everything--and--yes, of course, I do live in the past still, but--I really am trying --trying hard to live in the present--
So, for now, until I read your comments, this will be "it" for to-day--
----the freedom to choose what you want to do--
Remember when we couldn't do that , as we were weighted down with kids--or chores--???
Just think--- now we can choose what we want to do--
Lord love a duck! It is a luxury!
Good Morning Lynda,
ReplyDeleteYes, I think joining a club or finding a hobby you like will be a good thing. Maybe even volunteer at your local hospital. Doing something you enjoy or that's fulfilling always makes the day better. Won't you be able to leave Lopez for a few hours when you go out or maybe crate him if it's not too long?
Give it time, you will find your way. :-)
Enjoy your day!
Jackie
Thanks Jackie--Yes I certainly will find something and yes Lopez will; be oK at home here--Lynda
DeleteGood morning, sis.
ReplyDeleteI would clean before the cleaning ladies came, too! Some people don't, I guess. But why make them sort out the clutter?!
It's foggy here today, but will get quite warm this afternoon. Not too warm, I trust. I have covered my air conditioner.
It's cute that we both ordered sweatpants from Amazon!
I am glad your son invites you for dinner. Will you ever cook for him again?
Lucky takes care of his own nails. I tried to help him with it once...never again.
Today is Patriots Day in the US. It's a remembrance of when the Twin Towers in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, D. C. were obliterated. So many workers, rescue people (and dogs) lost their lives.
I just heard an opinion on the radio, that now the violence has moved to WITHIN the country...with school shootings, shooting people who only have a different opinion, etc.
On to happier things. Of course, you will get all moved in and sorted out eventually. You'll probably always want to make changes, too.
I'm going to go eat breakfast now. I will be back later, and I'll check yesterday's comments now. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
Se did--SE both ordered the same clothing--LOL--WE are a lot the same--Lynda
DeleteGood morning Lynda, rest assured that you will indeed get things sorted out. Perhaps not at the pace you want, but there is no rush. Your idea of volunteering and/or joining a club is a fabulous idea, and I hope you follow up with it. Leaving Lopez on his own for a few hours should not be a problem. Afterall, people work and have dogs. Lopez sleeps through the night and doesn't have to go out. Wonderful that your sons continue to invite you over for dinner. Maybe once you feel more settled, you can begin inviting them over to your townhome for dinner. Preparing a meal for others might bring you some joy.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful day.
Maureen from California
Hu Maureen--a lot of good ideas-- not easy living alone--Lynda
DeleteIt's Kathy. Yes, retirement does bring about the ability to do more of the things we want - or not! Today I'm staying home all day with little Daisy and just doing what moves me. My back has been bothering me so I've not gone to the gym the last couple of days. I think it's a great idea for you to find some activities outside your home that will get you around people. I love my bible study, I've been meeting with the same ladies for several years now. We usually do an 8 week study 4 times a year. And I agree, Lopez should be fine for a couple hours. Daisy doesn't like it when I leave the house, and she makes sure I know it! But I leave anyway!
ReplyDeleteYesterday was a very sad day in the US. A very special young man was assassinated while sharing his views on our country. And there was another school shooting. I don't understand why people hate so deeply, have such anger - to me anger is just a waste of my energy! My children don't always agree with my way of thinking, so we just avoid talking about those subjects!
I'm so glad you had a nice dinner with Son #1. I'm not crazy about eating alone either. I certainly don't have the energy to cook for just myself. Take care and enjoy your day.
Hi Lynda
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to volunteer or join something!! Hope you'll follow through.
Lopez will be fine alone for a few hours. People who work have pets. The pets sleep so don't let Lopez stop you.
Glad to hear the boys have stepped up and invite you over...yay
Enjoy today.
