Courage is getting out there and moving!

This is tomorrow--- AND------ I hoofed it go the highway---and back------ and it was a good walk-----I met the man who lives down the road--(never saw him walk before)----The sun was out-----and my heart rate was good-----and--my music was good!  Beau and I walked a wee bit earlier--Beau, who doesn't like vehicles going by--chases them-----  so--I try to get him out by 7-30am and we don't go far---

My whole walk is only about 20 minutes , but it seems to be all I need to stop that "shake leg syndrome" at night------Do I love getting out there and hoofing it, as it's sorta cold now?-----NO!-----but----I always come home feeling so good! Mind over matter----or something!

They predicted frost here , the past 2 nights, but so far, we haven't had it-- I am still packing outside stuff away, getting ready for winter----

This was the fog rising from the lake this AM---After I took this picture , I looked down and a huge beaver was swimming by, just beyond our dock--
I found this picture --taken at our cottage at Port Stanley, of myself on the left, with my 2 sisters--Note the hats on all of us--- I remember that day, as tho it was yesterday--

So, ever onward here-- hugs to all---and I am so fortunate to chat away with  all of you, even tho we are not on theSpark website--Once in awhile , remember to get out and walk--It really helps the weight go down--I HOPE!

  1. Beautiful picture of the lake, a real Autumn one. But frost? Yikes!

Yes, I remember those hats and have a photo of my oldest daughter when she was only about four years old wearing one.

Good time to take Beau out walking cause you'd never be able to hold him back if he decided to chase a vehicle! Hugs!!

  2. That early morning walk is the best! We get out there with Fletcher every morning and it really sets us up for the day.
Love the hats and reminds me of the ones I wore to church every Sunday

  3. No frost in NH yet but it won't be long. . .have to close our cabin in Maine in the next week or so too. I love Fall but not so much the Winter that follows. I had a hat like that every Easter.

  4. Growing up my mom bought me a new Easter hat every year. WE have a nice sunny day today even though it will only be a high of 19. Enjoy your day!

  5. Love the quote at the start of your blog….also the photos! I also had a hat like that! Had a new outfit every year for Easter Sunday!

  6. You bet walking helps the shaky legs! I notice it myself. When I have trouble with it, it's on a day I didn't exercise!

We have it in the 80sF here today. Getting out myself as an older lady that lives here is going stir crazy and wants me to take her for a ride. There is a state part nearby I'd like to investigate.

You will get winter things all stored away before colder weather!

    We CAN do this! {{{HUGS}}}

  7. Hugs to you, too! Good for you for getting that walk in...beneficial in so many ways according to research! The picture of the fog rising off the lake is beautiful...I live on water, too and you never know what surprises nature will provide! Have a lovely Wednesday, friend!! Eissa7

  9. I guess I’m lazy as I haven’t had my walk yet as I’ve been doing chores around the house. I will go out this afternoon to pick up the mail. If I go the long way around our small lake it’s over a mile so I will get some steps in. It’s a nice day - around 18 but it’s getting quite cool at night. I’m going to bring my hibiscus in today as it’s going down to about 3 tonight. We’ve sprayed for bugs the last two days so I hope they are all gone. Have a good day. 👍👣

  11. I agree, now that it's colder in the morning it's harder for me to get up and get out with Daisy, and honestly, a couple days in the past couple weeks I fed her and the cat and snuggled back into bed! I've had a lot of pain and had to cut the walks short for a few day but I'm happy to say that I am doing much better. I prefer the early mornings because there is rarely another soul on the path. I got on the scale this morning and am down 2 pounds - YEAH!!! I put a reminder in my to do list to make sure and read your blogs every day - they always make me feel good!

  14. I thought that looked like you on the left. Great picture of you pretty girls. Love the hats! I remember those days like yesterday, too. Good for you and Beau out for early walking in the cooler weather. It's nice fall weather here in the southland, so I make myself walk out to the porch for fresh air and sunshine. Though limited I'm so thankful I can walk that far!

  17. Nothing more enlivening than walking early in the morning @ this time of the year. Sometimes, for sure, it seems more 'sensible' to remain in the warmth of BED. BUT that isn't going to clear the mind, feed my heart/soul/mind. So, walking wins!

  18. Lovely lake picture. If Beau decides to chase something he'd drag you. Good on you for walking in addition to everything else you do around your home. I walk every day. Today I walked outside for about 50 min...But it was very warm..high 80s. If its cold or too hot or rain i walk the track inside gym.
I don't miss Spark since I have YOU back.
    Have a great day.

  23. Lovely pictures. We have been having very warm temps for our area. A cold front is coming through on Fri. or Sat. with rain. It will take us out of the 80's into the 60's which is my temp. love. Walks are good and enjoyable. Have a great evening.

  26. Great to see pictures of you and your sisters. I think when we were young we had the same kind of hat to wear to church. You look like you were quite a bit younger then the other two.

  27. I love that picture of you and your sisters. I had to point out to Becky that you were in the back on the left not the one in front. We had hats like that we wore to church! (((HUGS)))
