We all should have been Queens--

Life returns to normal--- Whew!!!--Good thing too!-----  So, I am smiling--I just hope  yu all have a reason to smile too!

Tess and I walked and all went well (She did what she was supposed to do!)- Yu might wonder why I never walk "Big Beau"?----Well, I did once, and a huge truck flew by us, and I could not hold him back, and the leash flew out of my hand, and he chased that truck! -----AND, he does have a heart that skips many a beat--A FIB they call it.  AND, he never walks--always runs around the property here.

Yesterday  for me, I was sorta "in the depths of despair"-  I was  checking  "the books"---something Himself never does, nor has he ever paid any mind to the dollars coming in---and, ---- we are going to have to  stop spending so much on everything--- and why does the woman of the house always have to look into this?---

I know our groceries have risen in cost--but--I think everything has risen!---  And we should be able to live on  what we had put aside to retire on--Our children say, "Sell that house Mom", and eventually we will, but--(that big "butt" again)-we aren't ready to do that yet, nor do we want to move into town with 2 German (dogs)- --I believe it is something all retired people must face at some point in their life--isn't it?--

-More stuff to keep in my head--- I believe Queen Elizabeth is still in Buckingham Palace--and probably doesn't even give it a second thought-Lord love a Duck! --We all should have been Queens--like in the story books--

old picture of me -weighing 217 --This morning, the scales say 194.5---feels much better!

have found that I am spending money like I am wealthy! I have to start sticking to my budget as of now. Prices have risen like at the grocery store is when I notice it the most. Have a great Thursday and enjoy!

  11. Congrats on your success with that pesky scale! Well done! Keep on Sparking, even without Spark! As for down-sizing... my trainer's doing it. They didn't expect to do so, it happened faster than they thought it would, but in a matter of weeks... it shall be done!

Makes a body think, doesn't it?

  12. Oh my heavens! My DD feels Himself and I should be in a retirement community. She EVEN offered to sell our house (she's NOT a realtor!) and ONLY keep 50% as commission. BWAHAHAHAHA. I think we'll wait for a better offer.

It is on the mind as we get older to downsize, BUTWE will know when it's the right time. Stick to your guns.

Good you looked @ your finances. I KNOW we have to do that periodically, too. As Mom used to say, once the money is spent, it's gone. Can't get it back. So spend wisely. We've done well spending wisely. I know you have, too.

  13. Keep it up or should I say keep it going down. Every ounce lost is still a loss and something to be pround of. I lost a total of 30 pounds while I was in Spark. Certainly not a lot compared to what I still need to lose. But I do my best to only think of losing 5 more pounds.

  15. Glad to hear the scale is still moving ever so slowly downward. We are in Maine this week with no scale so I won't know 'til I get back to NH on Tuesday but I think I have overindulged too much here. I have noticed the price of things going up but we are also doing less . . .no big trips, no dinning out so I think for now it is a wash and I am trying to enjoy life as much as possible through these difficult times.

  16. Thanks for the smile!!!

CONGRATULATIONS on the weight lost that is AWESOME!!!

It is hard to stick to your budget when the prices are going up and up and up. Unfortunately, the prices are going up the most on healthy food which is really sad. But I bought the fruits I have been wanting all summer so I can at least enjoy them this week-end. We won't even talk about gas, rent, electricity... Yikes!!! No wonder I don't have much left over at the end of the month.

Have a great day. Oh by the way, glad you don't walk Beau!! That would be dangerous.

  18. I’m very late today but have to agree that prices do keep going up and up. The price of gas is unreal now compared to what it was in the spring. We have downsized twice since I retired in 2004 so we really can’t go much smaller except for an apartment which I’m not ready for yet. It’s great that Tess is still doing well! 👍 💐

  19. Tried replying earlier but it disappeared so had to wait til later as I had to go out. Was asking about Beau but it sounds like he's doing ok. No point in moving before you're more ready to do it as you will not be happy about any of it. And yes, food really keeps going up but our pensions don't change much! Have a good day.

  20. Beau is doing just fine--- I don't believe we will have Tess too long tho--sad sad -- No, we are trying to stay in our home for now--but--one day--we will have to downsize--- Lynda

  21. Beth (bmosko) here. Glad to hear of your continued weight loss. I am still struggling with the 15 pounds I put on during the first year of the pandemic. I feel fortunate that it didn't keep going higher.
Bless Tess for keeping up with the walking. Keep doing this with her as long as she is able and cherish each step she takes with you.
    Have a good evening.

  23. Hi Lynda,
What a great weight loss. I am still working on losing myself. It is a slow painful process. But I just keep drinking my water, walking, keeping track of food and now do my Bones & Balance exercises. It keeps me busy that is for sure. I take care of the bills in our family. I always have.
I am glad the Germans are doing well.
The weather here is so nice, I will try to check in again soon.

I'm so glad that I found you here.

  25. You are really doing GREAT on your weight loss!! So awesome! Yes, I am retired and I have been getting ready to move to a smaller place. But I did find a place with 2 acres for my German, as in dog, to run and get her exercise. I am moving the end of this month, lots to do when it is just me and my pup.

  26. When I retired several years ago it took me a while to get to spending more in line with my income ... it dropped a lot at retirement. Things are going up quite a bit here; groceries and gas impact me the most. So, I continiue to try and rein in my spending, and find ways to economize while still enjoying life. The nice thing about losing weight is that "regular" rather than plus size clothing is less expensive, and I plan to follow the lead of some friends who purchase some articles of clothing at thrift stores ... more possible now that I wear a smaller size. I still buy fresh fruits and veggies, but am more careful than I used to be to buy only what I'll get through before it goes bad. I kind of feel like healthy food is an investments for me. But I do have a rule that I'll only eat out once a week at most, which saves money and is better for me.

Hopefully you can stay in your home as long as you are happy there. Perhaps you can start very slowly getting rid of unneeded things ... giving them to the children or grandchildren who want them, or selling them even if only for a fraction the cost you purchased them. It's amazing to me how much "stuff" we collect. I'm constantly paring down ... it's easier to keep things tidy.

I'm glad Tess is doing well, all things considered. Loving our pets is wonderful, and I often wish they could just go home on the same day we do so we don't have to lose them or worry about who love them when we're gone.

Yay for your weight loss!! It's a lifelong thing, but so worth it to feel better, isn't it?

    Happy Friday!

  27. So glad you and your precious Tess got your walk in. Wonder if Sushi ever gets human/dog interaction and play time with you. Probably.

I am with you on the cost of everything going up. Consider yourselves blessed that you own that beautiful home that you can sell when and if you need to do so.

Labor Day weekend here in the States. Cool and rainy here in Minnesota. Not too good for folks having a 3 day weekend and wanting to visit the Minnesota State Fair.

    Such is life! Hope you enjoy your weekend! {{{HUGS}}}

  29. I have a blogspot account (Haven't used it yet except to reply). You do not need to start an account to reply only. As I recall when I first started replying I think there were three lines, The first was my name and I could choose to be anonymous or public which would give your name and the rest of the world would see it. I use my spark ID. I had to give my name and an email address, it also asks for a website but that is not needed. I think I had a chance to check a box stating I wanted an email for notification to replys and new blogs. Of course I could have it all wrong but good luck.
