It's that time---- Time to put away the summer clothing-- bring up the winter-- ---It will be a lot of work! Does yer closet look like the above?-----or---worse???--You know, I never dragged out too many summer shoes-----probably 'cause there was no place to go in them--
In fact, I never dragged too many summer clothing out----You see, my summer wear was stored in one of the boys closets--- a grown child that had left the nest--- All summer, I thought, "One day, I will get to my " summer clothes!"-----but--(that big "butt" again)----I never did--- so-----I had about 3 Pandemic outfits----garden clothes---that now almost resemble rags---I don't wear the "garden housey clothes" to town--I do take time to change into something more presentable---- but-----the garden wear----- well, it looks bad-----Day after day, after day, I was in one outfit---then put on a clean awful outfit-- Three garden Pandemic outfits--
My hairdresser told me the same-- She used to be a smart dresser-- and still is when I appear to get my hair done--but--- she says, when home at her house--"Pandemic Wear" is what she puts on--and she told me that she will eventually burn hers.
I think these "Pandemic outfits" should be saved--put in a museum somewhere, to show the world what we , the women of the world, were forced into----Lord love a Duck! Who would think eh?
It's Sunday--Our Hummingbirds seem to have finally gone-- Big Beau , I know , seems to miss Tess--- so---we walk together--and talk about it--To-day we did not cry---finally--yet!
Pandemic wear is now the new chic. 😉
ReplyDeleteI have the same at my house . . . I did buy a few new T's this year because my old garden house ones weren't suitable for the grocery store.
ReplyDeleteI have been busy cleaning out my closet. I just bundled up 2 bags of clothes for donation and also got rid of a lot of old well worn pieces. Still have way too many. Shoes, not so much. I am down to 3 pair.
ReplyDeleteHi Willow-- 3 pr of shoes?--Good for yu! Lynda
DeleteThe pandemic is helping me save money on clothes since all I need are a few comfortable outfits. Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteSeems like we all are hearing Pandemic clothing!---Lynda
ReplyDeleteJust caught up on a whole batch of your marvellous blogs -- yes, marvellous even when you're writing on sad topics such as the loss of your beloved German . . . so glad that you are getting another wee doggie to help Beau. And yes, all our pandemic outfits should go into a museum for sure!! Most of my own "summer clothes" and "summer shoes" went unworn also: whereas my garden and dog walking clothes put in overtime!!
ReplyDeleteMy 'Pandemic Outfits' tend to be my pj's. LOL.
ReplyDeleteMy gardening shorts have seen their better days but oh, so comfortable! They must go soon. And, I have planned for a rainy day to clean out my shoes and donate. They’re good shoes, I just no longer need them. This pandemic has changed so much 💔 Have a wonderful day and enjoy the cooler weather!
ReplyDeleteWell I don’t have as many pairs of shoes as you do Lynda! Now that we are open again I’ve bought a few new capris and tops and did treat myself to a new pair of shoes. I cleaned out my closet and donated 3 bags of clothes that don’t fit anymore. I’ve kept them hoping for a 10 pound weight loss which I’ve now decided as never going to happen. Now I have room in my closet to maybe get some new winter things. Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteSame here.. lol love the burning idea
ReplyDeleteBUT I understand the museum idea.
We still have humming birds but they have been really busy drinking their juice so I imagine it won't be long before they disappear. It is almost time to put the summer clothes away but, we are still having really nice weather. 70's mostly. Have a wonderful day Lynda!
ReplyDeleteYep, I've been rotating the same three pairs of sweatpants (very forgiving of the pandemic poundage), so soft, so worn out, so comfortable -- but not acceptable even to make a run out to the mailbox. The upgrades for errands are yoga pants. I used to be better at replacing items once they were worn out, but now...I think I, and a lot of us, are still in a pandemic fog. I suspect I'll have to do some shopping one of these days.
ReplyDeleteI do not have a lot of clothes so me and my husband have different closets. I put the summer clothes in front and winter clothes in back and switch it around depending if it is summer or winter.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day
The hummingbirds are still plentiful here in Central Texas at our six feeders. I suspect these are the migrants heading further South.
ReplyDeleteThe pandemic is still going on and climbing here in Texas, a land of low intellectual ability of the average person…. Still need grocery delivery, still don’t dare to go into any inclosed area. Yet the Fair opens this coming week, which will be another Super Spreader of the unclean. So we stay mostly home. No need for nicer clothes.
ReplyDeleteYou must have gone out a lot in better conditions, to use all of your pretty shoes. We are still in flip flops, still AC on here. Good luck to you this week.
Ohhhh, once the pandemic is over, the clothes I'e been wearing weill make a nice bonfire. I can't wait for that day!
ReplyDeleteSo . . . know you're not alone. Maybe your Pilot son could drop us off and we can have one big huge bonfie and celebration!
HUGS
Pandemic outfits! That made me giggle! I also have those. Crazy times…
ReplyDeleteA new puppy on the way! Something to look forward to. Not sure what I would have done without my pups during these past two years.
Cleaning house today . Not going to bed before everything is dusted, picked up, and vacuumed! One way to get the steps in!
Hugs to you, my friend.
Gee, I have a few of those pandemic wear things, too... I stopped getting new race apparel, so even my t-shirts are "old" but there are a few that came with the pandemic year.
ReplyDeleteThe neighbor kid is out mowing my weeds now... so relieved, it was getting really ragged.
I know you're looking forward to the new little canine, even while missing Tess... new memories to be made. Spark on!
LOL my pandemic clothes wouldn't work for a museum. They would work great for a bonfire. Are all those shoes yours? Wow. Love the hummingbirds. They are still around but likely not too much longer but I'll enjoy them while i can.
ReplyDeleteHugs. Have a blessed day.
My closet is almost empty since all I have are yoga pants and t shirts now. I had to go shopping and buy a new dress and shoes since my son is getting married Oct 2nd though. Was strange to go into a store and even stranger to put on a dress! He and his bride are going to Iceland for their honeymoon. Congrats on the new puppy. Wonder if he/she will like the lake?
ReplyDeleteFrom Beth Mosko. It is good that you and Beau find comfort in each other. It makes the days a little easier. I didn't bring up many of my summer things. My husband needs the temp. cool enough that I am not comfortable wearing the lighter cloths, and the amount of time I am outside it isn't worth changing.
ReplyDeleteHave a good evening, Lynda. I look forward to reading your next blog.
I am formerly lsandy7 on SparkPeople. I found WATERMELLEN yesterday and you today. I am so happy. Sorry to read about Tess passing.
ReplyDeleteMy Pandemic wear is basic T-shirts and shorts or jeans. I stick to sneakers, sandals and my gardening clogs. Not much need for changing out wardrobes as it all fits into the closet I share with DH.
MY summer clothes come to MN. with us and return to TX. for the winter. It's warm to hot in both places. Rare winter clothing for us.
ReplyDelete(Jamer123)Our hummers are still around but much fewer now. We will enjoy them in TX. for the winter.
Another awesome blog thanks ..wow that is some shoe collection.
ReplyDeletehe he I do have Summer and winter clothes. I am paring them down to one wardrobe :)
Caftans are my go to most of the times that I am sticking close to home.
ReplyDeleteI think you are wise to get a 2nd dog and it will be a good way to keep active also especially with beau not good to walk with an small dog will be a good companion and easy to care for
ReplyDeleteWhen I went out west to Montana this year for my summer visit with sister Julie, Every time I took a walk I would imagine I was walking with Paloma her female Great Pyrenees. I loved walking her. I also find myself talking to her on my own local walks. They have a new puppy, Bella, maybe one day I will walk with her the same way I did with Paloma. Lordy, I need to go through my closet and dresser to decide what to keep and what to ditch.
ReplyDeleteKeep working at it...she will always be missed...but you have to take
ReplyDeletecare of Beau and you.
Eating will not make it better kiddo.......get another German and teach it to be your walking partner....if you get a Chihuahua give it Himself for a lap dog. lol
