Because "I miss you like crazy"!

-And I do look back--I must look forward------because I am going that way---- It is easier to remember where we came from ---- but , it's true--We aren't going that way---Every day here is so busy---  The boxes are diminishing--still quite a few however--

I had an "Organizer" come in this AM, but she gave me an estimate to be here and organize one room--$600-however ---  Too expensive--Lordy Be!---  I guess in time I will just have to do it myself---  get rid of stuff---lotza clothing that I haven't seen in years--- I wonder where the movers found it all--- -

Yesterday I did get to the hair dresser -walked up there---  $120 hair-do----at home I used to pay $20 a hair -do--It looks good and I liked the lady , the Hair dresser, and I could walk there which was nice-so, I guess I will continue with her--maybe not as often as I used to though--so, life is different, for sure--which I guess is just a matter of getting used to--I must not look back----

How was your day?---Does it feel like Christmas??--Next year it will be more like Christmas for me--- This year we didn't even get a tree up-- We do have snow , but not much--It seems milder--We are farther south----  so less snow -
-Hopefully, you are feeling strong---  I do miss you all--That is why I am posting at this hour----  There is a song like that--"I miss you like crazy"----AND I DO!!!
I'll get this off and try to write back before bed----  That's how much I miss you--

  1. Hi Lynda! So nice to see you! We have snow in Ohio! It may still be here for Christmas. Your hair looks stunning! I love the color! What a price difference, right?! And that organizer lady is very expensive. You can do it on your own I feel sure! I remember when Himself used to put that tree outside but it came in last year because he had fell down that time. My 16 year old nephew is here until after the new year but not back til Easter! Sad! He is so fun! Thank you for blogging. I miss you, too! Hugs!

  2. Your hair looks gorgeous…she did a very nice job! Moving is difficult BUT you did it and survived!! At our age that is quite the feat so try not to put so much pressure on yourself…. Donate what you moved but don’t need WHEN you get around to it…. All of us have things that we miss from our past…I can’t imagine living in a house as long as you did and NOT thinking about it….memories….I think it’s very normal to miss it!
Shoot, I still think of and miss a house we sold in 2007, 3 moves ago!

  3. Your hair looks great!
I miss you like crazy. Happy to see a note.
Sorry organizer person is so pricey. Bottom line....will have to donate more items seldom used as there simply is no storage room.
Yes, keep looking forward. It took a tremendous amount of courage and strength to uproot and move.
Take great care of yourself and Fred. Stay positive. It will all be fine.
    Love and hugs

  4. Hi, Lynda, we miss YOU when you don't blog! Marti here. Watching the Ohio State University football game against Tennessee. Winning by a lot so I came in the den to get on the big computer for a sec. So fortunate to only pay $20, BUT I don't think there are many places now that do hair THAT cheap. You were lucky. Do you have a thrift store anywhere near? I work for Goodwill - sell stuff online. I don't go in a Goodwill store very often, however. I'm not a clothes person. Like, I wear sweats and tee shirts everywhere, have a few jeans, and a few good shirts and one pair of dress pants, but with clothes, you have to try them on, and nothing fits me, nor do they make the styles I used to wear back in the 80's. So I simply DON'T buy any clothes. LOL. Well, I must get back to the TV. Why not just open some boxes, start a big box just for giving away, and put stuff in there? Then just haul it off when you can. That's what I would do, but no rush. Merry Christmas! I have to work (part time) Monday, then off Tues and Wednesday, then back to work Thursday and Friday, then I suppose we will go back Monday, get Tues and Wednesday off again, and go back to work. Crazy, eh???

  5. Glad I checked again, sis, before bed. Wonder what time you wrote...
Glad your boxes are fewer. Still stuff to get rid of. Me, too. I need to clean out the large closet in my bedroom...and the larger one in the hall.
Shopped a bit today (cat food and stuff). The stores are crazy busy. One had no shopping carts inside. I had to wait for one!
We had about 6-7 inches of snow Saturday-Sunday. It has stopped for now. That seems a lot to me, but there have been as much as 2 feet at a time. That's 731.5C.
Your hair looks beautiful! What an increase in price, though.
Bed time now, dear, so I will sign off. Hope to read you again soon. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  7. Sorry the organizer is so expensive, but . . . . honestly, not surprised. But despite the cost, I am glad you found a hew hairdresser, too. That is hard.

Yes, we’re always here, and I am always checking to see what you’ve posted! I am so glad that the move is over and now it’s settling in. NOT easy, but . . . it’ll get done,.

  8. RD in AZ here that hair dresser did a good job but that is kinda high but with out having to pay for yard help and snow plowing and things like that it can be done I guess it does not matter what time you blog I will check and read when ever it is there I am so sorry that it would cost so much for an organiser but you will get it done and it will be fine
I checked on a person to help clean my place and she wanted 200 dollars per room I said thank you for the estimate but no thanks that is just to high for my budget then she said that she could surface clean for 100 per room good grief I can surface clean I wanted the deep clean oh well like we say it will get done and all will be good in due time it will all be fine

love your blogs keep doing your thing one day at a time

Seems you are stressing a bunch about the boxes. A sister had a fire in her home of 50 years a few years back. She spent 6 months in an apartment paid for by her insurance and her house's contents that were salvagable were taken out for cleanup and storage until the repairs were complete (gutted down to the studs). Over twenty of those boxes are still sitting unopened in her garage! She has commented that she is curious about what is in them BUT can't see herself having them hauled off unopened.

Just think, no more summer bug suits to fight off the black flies!
And, no more shoveling deep snow in a yard that goes downhill!
And, no more wild animals in the bushes on your walks (maybe)!
And, no more multiple levels of stairs to contend with! Putting away the groceries should be so much easier.

When you establish new routines, be sure to include lots of time for reading and playing the piano. You have been running on adrenaline for so long, your body & mind need time to decompress! Be kind to Lynda during this process.

I imagine you miss your flowers you nourished for so long. Perhaps you can get some indoor plants that would love the light from all your windows.

Seems like y'all have landed in a good location for this stage of your lives. Take time to enjoy all the nearby amenities available.

  10. It's Kathy. I shut down early last night. Just too tired to do anything but watch TV. There's no Christmas at my house - I wanted to get the little tree set up but it's behind a whole lot of paper products. Didn't seem to be worth the effort this year. We'll go to my daughter's on Christmas Eve. I've been in this house for so long that even though I never wanted to live here it would feel so different to live somewhere else. But I would so love to have new things. My couch is falling apart, my stove doesn't light without a fire stick, and my fridge freezes things in the back. Maybe one day we'll clean this place out and find some place new to live. Probably not while Daisy is with us. We had my son here for a week and she's been looking for him since he left! Enjoy your Sunday.

    2. Yikes, $600.00!! But, if you declutter each box as you unpack it, into the declutter box and take them to the thrift shop before they get too heavy your place will have more room as you go so arranging rooms will get easier and you'll have a better eye for any big items that need to go. A process, for sure.

Yep, $120.00 is a lot for weekly hair appointments. I only go in for cuts every six or eight weeks, thankfully. I don't do color, so it's just for trims. Hopefully because you won't be doing so much outside work and have such a big place to clean, you can experiment a little with your hair and only go for color and cuts? Our hair is a big deal, I know.

Snow is rare here at Christmas time; we usually get it in January or February if we get any. Once in a blue moon we'll get it in March.

      Happy Christmas!

    3. PS I declutter all the time, and rarely wish I had a thing back. However, I severely culled my coffee mugs a couple of years ago from about twelve (just for me; the kids have their own) to four. Then, last holiday season I purchased a couple of Christmas coffee mugs from one of the thrift stores I donate to. Packed them away with the ornaments, and hauled them out and using them this year. Bought TWO MORE at a different thrift store this year. I already know I'll donate one of them back in January. I only paid a buck apiece for them, so not a big deal. Also, broke small glass lid I use with my smallest cast iron frying pan, and found a metal lid the right size at my local thrift store where I regularly donate.

It may be if there's some little item you need after culling things, that you can pick one up fairly inexpensively. :D

  12. Hi Lynda: Your hair looks nice. You are making progress with the boxes but it will take awhile. That organizer is far too expensive so looks like its up to you! For the next week you are going to feel homesick for Elliott Lake and all the family that's still there. Hopefully you will feel better after the holidays. At least Fred's doing better. That's a big positive. And as you meet more new friends you will feel better too. Go play your piano and relax. Hugs Brenda
