Hi Lynda, Red Lobster for your BD..how very nice. Hope you had a great BD. I love that you and Fred are getting out, even eating out. What a giant platter of food Fred and son split.
ReplyDeleteKitchen coming along.
Now is another chance to get rid of stuff. There is no room so you have to be ruthless and determined. Trust me, you WONT MISS IT. And as a bonus, less stuff means easier to clean plus it allows the items you do value to be seen more easily. People tend to take too much but now is the time to pare it down more
I doubt you want to clutter up your new, sleek, modern home with stuff. You can do it.
Your amazing, courageous, strong, smart and beautiful inside and out. Enjoy this day.
Love and hugs
Marge/St.Louis
It's Kathy. I love Red Lobster - what a nice treat for you and himself! Great photos. You will get there. One day you'll look back and see your beautiful space, all unpacked and livable. My son is here recovering from his Hip Replacement - he's pushing too much but how do you get a 42 year old man to do what you tell him???? So life is interesting around here these days! Take care and enjoy the ride!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy all the things you are doing, that you spent hours on end cleaning and mowing and vacuuming on in your other life. Now you can LIVE! Phew, even Himself is happier, smiling more. The scenery being nice is one thing, but having places to go and people to talk to is important! Take care!
ReplyDeleteOh Lynda, I absolutely LOVE Red Lobster. I go there every year for my birthday, it is my favorite place! I always get that platter that Fred and your son shared, but I eat it all MYSELF, LOL.
ReplyDeleteSO glad to see you guys out and about, and really LIVING! No worries about unpacking. As long as you have what you need on a daily basis, you are golden! :)
a couple of boxes each day is perfect. . . .then do something fun
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that son #2 is so good to both of you. LOVELY you got to go to Red Lobster for your birthday. NO COOKING! Your kitchen looks wonderful. Happy Birthday!!!!
ReplyDeleteHUGS and blessings!

I LOVE the photos of you and Fred, absolutely love them, Lynda! You both look so good. And to be able to go out to eat so easily is a blessing. I am happy that you made the move, even though it was a lot of hard work for you.
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is a nice size, it looks like Fred has made himself right at home already. Once the boxes are all done and you let go of things you have no room for or decided you don't want, you'll be able to put your feet up and relax, relax, relax!
My love to you and Fred, I am so happy for you both!!
Hugs, Gloria xoxo
Wonderful that Matt took you and Fred to Red Lobster for dinner to celebrate your birthday. What a thoughtful son he is. It seems Himself is doing better now that he gets out and about. At least I hope that's the case. Tackling two boxes a day seems like a good number. Remember Lynda, you do not have to be working all of the time. Take time to enjoy life.
ReplyDeleteTrue--- WE will be here forever--- Lynda
DeleteOh, I think it's great that your husband enjoys going out to eat. (We have Red Lobster where I live, also.) My mom, God rest her soul, got to where she did not want to leave the house when she had dementia; wanting to stay home and was fearful.
ReplyDeleteTwo boxes a day sounds like good progress to me ... especially as you're deciding with each item whether it gets to stay, then finding the right spot to display or store it. While it's true that the unpacking might have been made easier by getting rid of a lot of things before you movedv this way you will not second guess yourself. If you had left particular items you might now be wishing you had kept them and felt a little remorseful. But now, really, you are able to take your time unpacking/rethinking/placing things. Also, you're not wearing yourself out and can take donations to the charity shop in small easily managed trips. (I keep a little box in my car trunk, and when I find something I'll not use, I just pop it in the box. Every week or so I drop off that little bit to a charity shop close to me. My back, knees and wrists thank me because I'm not having to lift and carry lots of heavy boxes. I'm not moving, but am systematically continiuing my habit of letting go of things I don't really use or appreciate any longer.)
And I like it that you are having a good blend of setting the home in order with having fun with your family. You and Fred both look happy in the restaurant, and I'll bet your son is enjoying having you close and being able to help you while you find your footing.
A well rounded life is so enjoyable...I'm glad you can take things a little slower if you wish, and that Fred seems to be happy with the move. I'll bet even errands will be easier to run as you live in a fairly small town so shorter drives means you can buy smaller amounts and shop more frequently if you feel like it.
Happy Tuesday!!
Great ideas -I shall keep a box just to drop things in that are not being used--- Fred is doing weli for sure--Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda: What a great birthday dinner. And himself is enjoying life there and seems happy. That is good. Matt sure is being good with you guys. The boxes will get done sometime - no rush! Enjoy your new life. Hugs Brenda
ReplyDeletebusy--so busy Brenda-- Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda, how wonderful you went to Red Lobster for your birthday! That platter looks huge!! I’m glad you enjoyed your birthday.
ReplyDeleteDonna T.
It was like a feast--LOL--Lynda
DeleteLooks delicious!! Happy Birthday one more time!! Donna_cps2
ReplyDeleteHi Donna--- Lynda
DeleteGreat to see you here, sis. I did see that you commented on ours on the last blog.
ReplyDeleteRed Lobster! Haven't been there in years, myself. Don't even remember what I used to get. Did you enjoy your meal?
Two boxes a day seems reasonable. And you are still getting rid of stuff? It's YOU who are amazing!
Cool here, too, but over freezing. We're supposed to be getting a dusting of snow, but it hasn't come yet.
Bet you are really happy to be near a son that wants to be near you, too. I sure would be.
All for now, Lynda, but I will check back later. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
HI Maggie--so much to do--=it is over whelming-- Plus the cheques and bills still keep going to the wrong bank even tho I spent so much time trying to change all that-- and I am trying to do 2 boxers a day--- supposed to have snow in the next few days-- --I do like it here --miss the boys in Elliot who never came over ---but Fred is doing well--- Hugs , Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda! Your kitchen looks great! You are coming along nicely. How nice of your son to take you out for a lovely birthday meal! Did you enjoy the ice cream truck that I sent for dessert from Ohio?? Big hugs!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful for Himself. There must be an improvement in his attitude and behaviors.
ReplyDeleteYour birthday dinner at Red Lobster looks wonderful. I do hope Son #2 slows down a bit in running you around everywhere -- I'm younger than you but my limit for running-around stuff (appointments, grocery store, library, even dining out) is three in a day. More than that and I need some quiet time, a cup of tea and a nap.
ReplyDeleteIs Lopez adjusting a bit better? I hope with a smaller place he is able to stay out of the way of Himself's cane.
Your kitchen area looks beautiful, and I see you got bananas! Very strange, though, that the apartment doesn't already come with window blinds installed. At least this way you get to choose what you want. Hugs. / Leslie
RD here your meal looks so good I can almost taste it but then I know I would have to eat the benadryl I am so allergic to shell fish but I love it so much I admire your goal to get threw it 2 boxes at a time I know that you will get there and it will all be great I am still so very happy for you
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely birthday dinner!
