Happy Birthday Lynda. Extraordinary that the move has had such a positive effect on Himself. What a gift. So happy to you! Enjoy yourself this season and get to the boxes when you can...
ReplyDeleteNO boxes today--and that is not good--LOL---
DeleteHappy Birthday, Lynda! 🎂
ReplyDeleteBirthdays are like M&Ms, you enjoy them more if you don't count how many you have had.
So happy to hear that 'Himself' is doing well with the move. That's amazing news!

So good to hear from yu again-- Yer M@M's are cute--Lynda
DeleteHey Lynda, Marti here. I am, again, SO happy for you and Fred! Maybe he felt stuck there, and so used to working. Now he has new and exciting things happening, and FAMILY, and getting out more, that would certainly cheer up most ANYbody! :)
ReplyDeleteYes--This move has been the best thing for him--Lynda
DeleteGetting out and about has given Himself a reason to be happy. Sitting home alone can't be much fun.
ReplyDeleteHe really has improved a lot-- Just hope it continues-=Lynda
DeleteOh my dear, I AM SO HAPPY that DH is so happy in the new apartment. That makes it all worth while, And I KNOW that makes YOU happy, too. MANY hugs,
ReplyDeleteYes, have to let sadness go to allow for happiness to go into your heart.
Hugs and blessings!

Always good to hear from yu Barb--Lynda
DeleteMaggie Fred is like (almost) his old self-- Its a miracle--Lynda
ReplyDeleteIt's Kathy. I am so happy to hear that himself is really liking the new apartment. And how nice that he made Chicken Soup! We've had another set back with Bryan and his desire for joint custody of my 2 little grandsons with Autism. That selfish man certainly doesn't take in to account what is best for the boys. And right now, just before Christmas! He is such a piece of work! My son is recovering from his Hip Replacement Surgery - he seems to be doing really well. We think he'll go home on Friday! It will be nice to have my house to myself again, although he's really not been any trouble!
ReplyDeleteI am so terribly happy for you!! Your husband is happy with the new apartment, which is wonderful ... and which makes your life happier. And how kind of the lady in the pet store to trim Lopez's nails ... he must have been a very good boy, letting a new person do that. Is he adjusting better to the new walks? Are you starting to recognize the route to the grocery store a little bit better now? The picture of your son, wife and daughter is cute! It sure seems like this move is proving to be the best decision, and a chance to be working less and enjoying more. :D
ReplyDeletePS I've been a little melancholy the past several days, so downloaded the picture about keeping the heart open for my computer screen picture.
ReplyDeleteA belated happy birthday to you, and you can't know how thrilled so many of us are that you and Himself are settling into a place that doesn't require so much work on your part!
ReplyDeleteHi Lynda: Things are really looking up in Lakefield. Sounds like a really good town. And himself seems really happy with the apartment and the move. So far so good!! Hope things keep going like that. Have a good night. Hugs Brenda
ReplyDeleteHi, I just love your attitude and your spirit! I have been reading your blog for years, since Spark People, and you seem to be so much happier! So happy for you both! You have your Spark back! Alice in SF
ReplyDeleteHi Lynda, thanks for the update from Lakefield.
ReplyDeletePeople certainly sound friendly and kind there. DELIGHTED Fred is enjoying the new home.
Nice picture of pilot and his family. He's certainly a good guy.
You are learning your way around with your outings. How nice lady at pet store trimmed nails. Hoping Lopez is adjusting to his outside routine.
Homemade chicken soup sounds wonderful. I'm so happy Fred is liking the new home.
Love and hugs

It's wonderful that Himself is more like his old self...happier. That's good for you, too!
ReplyDeleteThe photo of your son and his is great.
Maybe you should just do one box a day. The task may take you all year...it would be easier, though. Then there will come a day when you have to look through boxes to find something.
My check comes tomorrow, but had to go out today for 'Becca and JoAnne. Tomorrow when I have $ to shop, the weather is supposed to be bad. That won't stop me, though. It might take me longer.
Tomorrow afternoon we are having our holiday dinner in the Community Room. Our favorite grocery store is gonna cater it...including serving and cleaning up. Think it's a nice thing they do for us then I found out we actually pay for it! The money to pay the grocery people for food and service comes from the money we have to pump into the washers and dryers to do our clothes!
You're lucky to have your son to help you become familiar with your new town. And that lay was very kind to trim Lopez's nails.
You're making friends already. I knew you would.
BTW, I still have boxes not emptied from when I moved here in 2018. I have to room to display all the photos, yearbook and assorted stuff in them! {{{HUGS}}}, Love, Maggie
Maggie
Sounds like all is going so well. Fantastic. I give lots of credit to your son and his family for keeping Fred just busy enough to improve his attitude and life. I know that his happiness makes your life much easier and more pleasant. Plus you
ReplyDeleteWell, that ended before it was supposed to!! as I was saying ... Plus you will be able to run to the store or pick up something much quicker and can leave Fred alone for that long. Dot
ReplyDeleteSo happy that things are going good. So happy also that Himself likes the apartment and the move. Don't worry, you will get to the boxes. Chris
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers, and it is like an answer to prayer that Himself likes the new home and the relocation went so smoothly (for him, for now -- and for you as the mountain of boxes slowly goes down). All that "should we or shouldn't we" and the fear that Himself would not be comfortable in unfamiliar surroundings -- no longer a worry. It's also nice that Son #2 is so involved in introducing you to the town and the retailers. You can make a grocery run without it being a major field trip! It's his turn to "have" you after you living in the same area as the other three forever. I am so happy for you and relieved that you won't have to endure another winter of shoveling (and slipping) and worrying...and surviving. Hugs / Leslie
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! I am so happy that Fred really likes the new home and that he is much happier. Sounds like downsizing was the best thing you could have done!! Take care. Glynis
