I was up around 5-30am--- taking my pills--- getting them all in, before Lopez gets up---It is a balancing act here--Lopez and I went out then---a routine I try to stick to every morning--Yesterday, our daughter was working, setting up the livng room--no pictures on the walls yet, and eventually we will get rid of a huge leather chair in the living room--- Our furniture was bought for an enormous living area-- but , for now, the living room is looking better--no clocks on the walls yet or pictures--and no blinds yet on windows--

OF all of the news in your post, the best is that Himself has improved 100% and there are services for him! Yes, takes time to get arranged, but you'll get there. Yeah!
ReplyDeleteAs for the suggestion from your previous post that your family has said put Lopez down . . . SERIOUSLY!?? My heart would break. He's a good boy, it was just an unfortunate circumstance and timing. ((HUGS))
Things are slowly shaping up. Never happens as quickly as you'd want, but . . . it's happening.

Yes I have to spend more time each day with little Lopez-Everything is so different for him, it makes him snarly it seems99 Things have improved today for him--He seems more settled---Lynda
DeleteGood morning, sis! Glad I checked here before I left for my appointments at the vet hospital. I'll be getting home exhausted after those and my daughter's to dole out gifts. I may have crashed for a nap and forgotten.
ReplyDeleteWe had rain here for days, too, and fog the last couple. Below freezing now. I am told it's slippery. I have a 45 minute drive up a highway with crazy people. Sigh.
The photos of your living room and kitchen look great to me. Sure, the kitchen looks cluttered, but that will straighten out. I know my kitchen is where I make the most mess. It gets cleaned up eventually.
I am glad the kids walked Lopez. Maybe they can bond with him.
All your medical staff will get worked out, too. Like you say, we need time.
I don't believe in 'wasting time,' either. We use time. Even if it's for much needed rest or leisure, it's not a waste.
All for now, Lynda. I saved that last meme! You really have some good ones. Make it a great day...I am! {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
Why are you dealing with crazy people??---(Yu said yu have to drive "with crazy people"---SE are going out for dinner--in town here--easier than driving into Peterborough which is farther and upsetting for Lopez-- So---- Hugs to yu-- How did yu make out at the vets hospital?-Lynda
DeleteYour living room looks pretty well set up; the pictures and such will be easier to do and you can take your time with those if needed. It's probably better that you brought a little too much in terms of furniture than not enough ... this way you have your familiar comfortable things and can let go of things rather than having to spend money on something you might not like as much. Your living area looks to be a pretty good size even though it's not huge like your old one.
ReplyDeleteThe kitchen does look overly full; it takes a bit of time in a new kitchen to figure out how to best place things, especially if it is smaller than the kitchen you moved from. You'll get there. :D
Could your old doctors recommend or refer you to doctors in your new area, and programs for Fred? I'm not sure how that works for you all.
I hope you have a fabulous day!
anywhere in Canada there is a Drs Shortage-- That will be a problem--- My DR in Elliot will renew our meds till we find a Dr--Lynda
DeleteIt's Kathy. Your living room does look nice! So progress is happening. I'm so glad your daughter is there to help you. Also good to hear that himself is doing so much better. One day at a time. I'm still down with this cold, it's wearing on me. I hope to be better soon! Take care.
ReplyDeleteOh Kathy, I hope that yer "cold" is going---Lynda
DeleteGood afternoon. Thanks for taking time to update us. We're in your corner and rooting you on. YOU GO GIRL. NO LOOKONG BACK.
ReplyDeleteLiving room is smaller, and large pieces take up a lot of room. If the extra chair goes, down the line, that might match the scale of the area better. But, if that's Fred's favorite chair, keep it.
My opinion, you didn't ask for, kitchen looks crowded. I'd pack away seldom used items to give you more counter space. Actually, no blinds let's sun in. I understand you want them for privacy. Please don't be one of those "old" people that keeps the blinds shut tight. We're in a villa and the people are 80s 90s for the most part and the blinds are always shut tight. I like to see out but that's just me.
I am so happy about the change in Fred. Hallelujah. That has to make your home more pleasant.
Dr's, dentist, eye docs, Sr.Center will all come along in time. You haven't been there long. You were buried in boxes...Great progress has been made. If son doesn't have time to hang pictures and clocks, perhaps check with neighbors about a reasonable handyman they use or even the owner of the building. Gotta give it time. Can Allison hang stuff while she's thete?
Relax...kick back a bit. House is coming along nicely.
Love, hugs and blessings coming your way.
Marge in rainy St.Louis. It's not ice nor snow so I'm grateful
Marge--rain here also--Allison goes home to-morrow --sad sad sad---Yes, more work needs to be done in the kitchen for sure--but--it ill come--in time--rainy and windy outside-- Lynda
DeleteLynda, it looks very cozy. Looks like a place I would enjoy being in. Marti
ReplyDeleteLynda, your livingroom looks cozy and welcoming. Yes, your kitchen needs a bit of work, but it will come together too. Didn't like anyone suggesting that Lopez should be put down. That's the height of animal cruelty. He's in a completely new environment, house-wise and outdoors as well. There are people in the house that he's not accustomed to. He's your companion for goodness sakes. It seems a while since Matt has had a flight. Perhaps he asked for extra time off to get you settled. Good that Allison and your daughter-in-law emptied boxes and arranged things.
ReplyDeleteNew adventures await you, and I'm so glad the move is behind you.
Maureen from California.
Hi Lynda! It sounds like things are slowly coming together. We are supposed to get 11-13 inches of snow next Monday in Ohio! Yikes! Hang in there! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHi Lynda: Glad things are moving along and you're getting more settled. Really glad himself is doing so good. But you should work on getting the services for him and the medical services that you both need. We all know how much of a problem that is in Ontario! Hugs Brenda
ReplyDeleteLynda, I commend you - what you did with moving was an incredibly brave thing to do - and I'm so glad you have help from your kids and your husband is doing better. Amazing is what you are!
ReplyDeleteLynda you are doing great!! Yes, your next priority is getting your medical Dr.s set up. So glad that Himself is doing so much better. I am so happy for you. This is a lot for Lopez. He just need more attention to get more comfortable. He'll be fine. Don't forget to take some time out for Lynda. Hugs, Chris
ReplyDeleteGood morning Tuesday here! Weird thought crossing my mind, I put our flour and sugar canisters into the cupboard, since I don’t use them as frequently these days. FWIW (for what it’s worth), that's how I freed up some counter space. Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are starting to settle in! Obviously my own home has been "redone" to allow for the living presence that is Ember! Pace yourself, and relax into it, and on to 2025!
