She just registered Himself and I, on a list for a Doctor here --The person she registered us with, knew that we had a Doctor back in Elliot Lake--so THE DAUGHTER had to get us off that list in Elliot , so we can be put on the list here------Rules are rules----- so---Hopefully, eventually, we will be on a list here------IT'S ALL ABOUT "THE LIST"------
Our daughter loves this apartment--keeps telling us how perfect this place is for us--and says more Seniors should "Downsize"----(which is hard--"God awful" to do)--- but again, I wish we had done it 20 yrs ago--It would've been so much easier--
----- but again--- easier now than 20 years down the road-
I hope that your Christmas was wonderful----Was it a happy day??-- Was it full of LOVE?----
-small steps everyday-- and-----until to-morrow---
Lynda, your daughter is a godsend...as is your son. We start out as we age, not wanting to 'bother' our kids. We soon learn, though, that we need to do that. I always believed that it was the natural order of things. We raised our kids, now it's their turn to help us.
ReplyDeleteI was to go to my daughter's for our celebration today. She messaged me late yesterday afternoon. It was thought that her husband was getting better (he's a kidney recipient so is immunocompromised) that his cold/flu is now moving down to his chest. Also that she has a fever and a sore throat. We were going to get Asian food from a local restaurant by her. We love it. Now I will miss out on that. I am just going to drop their gifts Monday after my VA appointments. They are only 15 minutes from the Veterans Medical Center.
Has your daughter been able to help you with your boxes? It's great that she's walking Lopez. Hope he bonds with her, too.
I trust you will be pleased with your new doctor, but that you won't need to find out for a long while. I.e. hope you both stay healthy.
You did say Himself is going to have a hearing aid appointment, I believe.
Outa here now dear and on to chores and shopping for a couple things. I will, of course, check back here later.
Be happy, dear...you deserve it. {{{HUGS}}} Love, your sis, Maggie (maybe someday I'll get to meet my niece and nephews.)
They really have been a huge help--I know! It will probably b mos before we get a new Dr--- but our old Dr will be able to prescribe meds-- I hope in the meantime---- Yes, boxes everywhere --- fewer tho--Lynda
DeleteGood morning Linda. I'm happy to hear how your daughter loves your apartment! And she's being helpful by getting you and Fred on a doctors list for where you now live.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am so happy that you made the move. Look how much less work you have to do now, none outside and smaller inside! This is how it should have been years ago, so it was a wise move for you both.
Enjoy having your daughter there, our daughters are precious!
Love and hugs, Gloria xoxo
Yes this place is a lot easier than the house IF WE EVER GET IT SORTED OUT--LOL SO NICE TO HEAR FROM YU GLORIA-- -- I HOPE YOUR CHRISTMAS WAS WONDERFUL--LYNDA
DeleteIt's Kathy. I'm so sorry little Lopez bit you yesterday - I hope it wasn't a bad bite. I'm happy to hear that your daughter likes your new apartment and I have to agree with her, more seniors need to downsize! I sure wish my mom had. We had her signed up in a very nice senior center where there were a few people she went to school with. She would be allowed to bring her cats AND they put her in a room on the first floor so she could see the bird feeders (she loved feeding the birds). BUT, in the end she didn't accept! And it took me at least 6 months to clean out her stuff!!! I hope you enjoy your time with your daughter and I'm also glad she is able to help you get through some of the "red tape". They make life so difficult for us Seniors! Take care and enjoy your time with your daughter.
ReplyDeletesad that yer Mom didn't stay in the home --- because she wouldve eventually liked it-- takes time for sure--but it is a scarey move--so I do understand-- Lynda
DeleteSo glad your DD is there and likes your apartment and is HELPING. Hallelujah. You deserve all the help that is possible!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time w/your DD, though I know it will be busy continuing to get settled in.

Nice to have these 2 kids here ---It does help a lot--Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda, positive affirmations and don't forget they apply to YOU.
ReplyDeleteWhy did naughty Lopez bite you? Bad dog.
I'm thrilled that Allison loves your new home. Great that she took Lopez out for you AND super great she got you on the Dr. list. Everything involves red tape. Hoping neither of you needs a Dr. In the near future.
Being nosy...does Allison talk to the 3 boys? Perhaps she has insights into their behavior or suggestions on what to do about restoring contact.
Yes, Christmas was nice. Small and low key. No small kids. Good food.
Hoping Allison can somehow help with the extra boxes that bother you. Don't give up. It WILL all work out.
Love. Hugs and blessings.
Marge/St.Louis
Lopez saw another dog on the trail go after him--so I guess he decided to do that to me--It wasnt a bad bite--but--he should not do that--a bd little dog for sure--Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda, Marti here. I wouldn't personally be able to keep a dog that bit me. We had one once that was psycho and he bit my husband who was just going to pick up a ball to throw to him. That was the last straw. You simply DON'T bite the hand that feeds you, that's my opinion, anyway.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm glad that your daughter is there, and hopefully will be a big help!
My Christmas was just wonderful! :)
Marti
At our house we celebrated Christmas on the 23rd because of my kids' work schedules; it was wonderful and included friends so we had a total of eight.
ReplyDeleteYesterday was total relax day. Today I made a partial move to get back to my regular schedule and eating ... too much delicious feast food and not enough excercise leads to sluggishness for me. I was up early and went to get fresh produce and lean protein; tomorrow I'm back on the excercise.
So glad your daughter came and is being helpful and encouraging; hopefully where you live now is a shorter drive for her.
Glad your daughter is there seeing for herself and helping get things straightened out, in terms of "The List"! I'm working on appeasing my Ember... she hasn't quite forgiven me yet for leaving her home Christmas morning while I celebrated with Carl and his humans!
ReplyDeleteChin up! Things will only keep getting better: the piano is tuned, right? And the list is sorted! Onward!
Hi Lynda: Glad your daughter got there so soon and she's helping out with things like getting registered for find a new doctor. And great that she likes your apartment. My Christmas was quiet - just me and my dog but it was fine. Have you talked to the boys in Elliott Lake yet. Have a good night. Hugs Brenda
ReplyDeleteRD in AZ here so glad that you DD is there to help a bit I am sure that wee Lopez is just readjusting to the new place and will calm back down soon enjoy all the time with the kids and all the extra time that there is to spend with them I agree everyone needs to downsize more often
ReplyDeleteHi Lynda! So nice of your daughter to be helping with the doctor stuff. So happy she loves the apartment. There’s two happy children you have about the move. Right?! Come home with her and we will go for ice cream! Hugs!
