What's wrong with my brain?

FINALLY -----  I am here---  SO SO much to do----  but--Y'all keep going thru my mind--So so much unpacking to do--  I FINALLY found the vacuums--which we need--badly--and I found the piano--plus we moved it to another wall--and maybe we will move it again--
The whole place is a huge mess--so, I am trying to unload a box at a time--and then Son#2 cuts the box up, and takes it to the recycling place--You see,   the night we left, we left before the moving truck---and we were not even here when they unloaded--
The very best thing is that Himself loves this place--"No Stairs" he keeps saying--We do have snow--but maybe a few inches--and I have not done any snow shovelling--quite amazing!! The owner of the property ploughs when needed--
We are located east of Toronto-- Peterborough is between here and Toronto--  And Lakefield is so pretty---  quaint---  older homes  which are beautiful--

`                        I shall try very hard to blog earlier tomorrow--like in the morning--I miss yu all--- BUT--- I AM HERE --The computer room here is a huge mess of boxes-- but----  We've been mostly working on the living room to-day-I hope that you all are feeling strong --because I do need you to support ME--LOL----like-----  "WHY ON EARTH DID I EVER MOVE"----that's what goes thru my head-- I think I lost my marbles--Hopefully --hopefully---- Each day will improve--Lord love a Duck! You think  things will get better??

  1. I have followed your blog since Spark People but don't usually comment. You are an exceptionally strong woman- I am personally familiar with some of your challenges. So glad you are finally moved and that Fred likes it!! I assume that the cat and dog will adjust quickly as they love mainly being where you are. Stop unpacking and play the piano a little for renewal. You will get settled soon and say thank goodness we moved. .

  2. Seems to me that you are making great progress! So proud of you! You are motivating me to get some things done around here! I love it that Himself (Fred) is liking his new place with no steps!!! If you keep going like you have been these past couple of days, you will be "box free" in no time! So nice that your son cuts up the boxes and recycles them for you! Gets rid of the extra clutter they would make! So happy that you are back blogging and keeping us all updated! We are your cheerleaders!!!! Proud of you friend!

  4. Oh, I hope you have a 'cut off' time for work each afternoon, so that you can relax and 'live' in the living space ... play the piano a bit. From the little I can see in the picture, you're making good progress. It will get done. And yay for your son cutting up and taking the boxes out for you; what a wondeful son he is. You may rearrange things a couple of times; I have wound up doing that in places I've lived. It seems like you have to live in it and do slight changes to get things to work well with how you live life.

I'm so glad Fred likes the place ... if he's happy, your life is happier too. :D And someone else takes care of the snow!! In other seasons the grass and weeds and shrubs ... not your job!! If you miss nurturing plantlife you can always get some potted indoor plants, or potted balcony/patio plants, right?

    Hugs to you!!!

  6. Hi Lynda! So nice to see your bog! Big hugs from Ohio! One box and one room at a time! The piano looks beautiful! Yay! No shoveling. I have been extra cleaning for my sister and brother in-law coming in a bit from Virginia for the weekend. She comes December for my birthday and in March for hers. Lots of work but so fun! I am thrilled that Himself loves it there!! Was a bit worried he would want to go home and be upset. So happy for you! Hang in there. You are gonna love it!

  9. It's Kathy. I have been watching for a post from you and so happy to hear that things are moving along. I haven't moved in over 42 years but that summer we moved to this house I had 6 week old twin boys! So yes, unpacking takes so much time. I'm sure you are making fabulous progress. And himself loves it there! That's the best news ever. I was worried that he'd not be happy with the change. I don't have boxes everywhere but after 3 months of not being able to do much, my home is a pretty big mess. I have to just pace myself and do one thing at a time. You will eventually get everything where it feels right and one by one those boxes will be gone. And good for son #2 to help dispose of them once they're empty! Have a great rest of your day!

  10. Hi Lynda! Be gentle with yourself… this has been a monumental change and will take time to get sorted. Winter is such a challenging time of year here in Canada 🇨🇦 (I’m from Alberta) so you can add having moved house in December to your long list of accomplishments! Look for the positives in each day— they are there, waiting to be celebrated! Sending you love, Donna

  11. Here's a laugh for you - it's Marti. I'm so OCD and perfectionistic that every time I move, I unpack it all in one evening - I mean, I TEAR through them and go until I drop. But, I enjoy that, that's the most fun about moving that I can imagine. Packing? I don't like that so much. I guess I kind of do it for a living now. If I'm not posting jewelry, I'm posting donations, the ones I like the most to do are the electronics or decorative items, and most of them come in boxes. I tear through the boxes to see what's in them, and take the photos, and then can never seem to rearrange them back the way they were, LOL. I'm sure you'll get unpacked in no time and then you'll maybe miss it, haha. It's fun making a new place your own!

    2. Hooray for Lynda, and three cheers for Fred in liking the new place. If he's happy, you'll be happy. I know you're dealing with boxes and arranging things and putting things away, but you must take breaks. Once the boxes are gone and things are in place, I think you'll be dancing around the apartment singing, "I did it". You are such a remarkable woman Lynda. I believe you have a birthday on Monday, so save enough energy to celebrate.

  13. You made it thru the hardest part…you will get settled in bit by bit…I’m sure leaving the beautiful family home on the lake was bittersweet but you are right where you need to be. Himself liking it is a huge WIN, isn’t it?! Once the chaos is resolved you can explore your surroundings and meet new friends! Plus….NO shoveling is wonderful…so glad you are done with that task! ❤️ Eissa7. (Karen)

  16. Hi Lynda: Glad to see an update. Really glad that himself likes the place. It will make things a lot easier. Hope you can find a daycare place cose by that he will also like! You know we all support you and are glad to hear from. And go figure- snow outside and you don't have to shovel! Sounds like you are going to have to give a lot of stuff away. Good that Matt's in town for a bit and helping to get rid of things. In a few weeks you'll see able to appreciate how good the move is. Take care. Brenda

  17. Love the brain meme at the end! Yes, things will get better. And they will rotate between good days and not so good days, good moments and not so good moments... but LOVE the "no stairs"!

  18. Such a cute blog, sis! I saved that funny meme and shared it on my FB page right away.
Of course, it will get better, dear...one room at a time. I am SO happy that Himself loves the space.
Is it just one bedroom, one bath? That will be much easier to take care of. And there is room for the piano! That's important.
Maybe you will get back to your blog almost every morning. All of your followers will like that. They don't sell drugs for blog withdrawal that I know of.
My day was great, thanks. My night will be, too. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  19. So happy to see a note from you. I have withdrawal without your updates. I'm doing a HAPPY DANCE that Fred likes the new place. Now is another chance to purge. There isn't room for all you brought so be ruthless and while saving yourself some stress....donate to an animal facility, veterans organization or women's shelter. It won't all fit.
Birthday Monday...time to unwind a bit. You'll get through this. It's another accomplishment in your list of many. Hang in...normalcy is coming.
    Loved the marbles insert.
    Stay strong. Happy purging.
Love to you, big hugs. You CAN do this. I'm grateful for Matt.

  20. Good morning Lynda
Take your time getting unpacked. Enjoy your piano and so happy that himself loves the place!! Also I like that you won't have to shovel so much. We are heading to AZ on Monday to spend Christmas with Dan's sister. We will be back on the 28th. I have to admit I am not looking forward to the plane ride. I wish your son was flying us! Well have a good day.
