The roast will feed an army-- (Mom used to say that!)- It must be 12 pounds!---And his hearing aids are now all cleaned and various parts were replaced so he should be able to hear !
I told him that I am worth a million bucks to him. (Mom used to say that too!)--Who on earth would wait on this man, "hand and foot"? (Mom said that too!)-
It has been quite day, and I told Himself that to-morrow I shall be in the garden, NOT doing his errands. Of course he didn't seem go hear me!
I was not grouchy because I had decided that to-day I would not allow anything to upset me--There is another day to "lay down the law"-do stuff that I want to do--like "garden"--
And speaking of gardening, coming back out here--to the bush where we live, a lot of the trees are turning red--AND ---YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS!
I must tell you that Tess, the German, who lives on the edge--well, she is doing pretty good! --She moves quite slow--but is eating--and "doing her business, so, hopefully she will survive a bit longer!
This AM., I did step on the scales--and I am DOWN . 5 a pound-- Do I miss Spark?---YES!
Am I grouchy because of it?----No, but----I do miss a lot of the Sparkly People who I don't see--
Lord love A duck! I must see this as an opportunity mustn't I? --- I hear that the Queen is not on Spark now either! -----= I must tell her to not worry--and be happy too!
That's a great idea to get outside in the garden. Enjoy the peace and quiet of nature! Maybe Himself can put the huge roast beef on to cook for you ๐ค My husband doesn't cook and sometimes he gets slow about washing dishes...very frustrating to me! SO happy Tess is doing some better ❤ I miss Spark too!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the .5 pounds off...I miss spark too. Have a great day
ReplyDeleteGood morning from San Diego...weird day here. Overcast, sprinkling and cool 72 degrees. Off to the airport to pick up my college roommate of 1970s. Lord, I am old but still moving on!
ReplyDeleteWTG. .5 loss is good. It is in the right direction and that is what is important. Happy to hear Tess is feeling okay again. Cook up the roast beef and then freeze some in the juice. Wonderful for a hot open face sandwich or to use in soup. I love roast beef and there are a lot of ways to use leftovers if you freeze it in meal size portions. Hugs Willow
ReplyDeleteOh, my, what a big family your Himself is planning to feed, eh? Thrilled that Tess is doing better... you'll keep one another company for some time longer! And oh, no, about those trees getting red already! Don't they know it's only August?
ReplyDeleteSpark a good day!
Ah men, can’t live with them, can’t live without them!
ReplyDeleteI read on the SparkPeople web page that they plan to open up Spark360 to international members in the future. We must keep sending them positive energy vibes that it happens sooner than later. ๐
Being positive is the way to go! I didn't really say 'Goodbye' to anyone, because I thought they could keep in touch if they wanted. My contact info was shared. And I've been trying to keep busy! That can help when you're troubled about anything. Another great blog! Thank you! The Queen should know you mention her so often! = )
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a lot of beef! If someone asks, “Where’s the beef” ?, we can send them to you! Thank goodness you found the parts of his hearing aids! Good grief. Glad Tess is doing better. Take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteA busy day for you today Lynda! Good news about Tess and bad news about the leaves turning already - I’m not ready for fall yet. The roast sounds huge- maybe you can freeze part of it to use later. Enjoy the rest of the day! ๐ ๐
ReplyDeleteHey there to everyone!
ReplyDeleteWe are trying out a different kind of comment form now. I am hoping it will make it easier for people to comment. Please let me know how it goes!
Write to LEANJEANSPARK@GMAIL with any problems you may have with it. Good luck!
You do not have to post Anonymously if you do not have a Google account. You can use the 'Name/URL' option and just leave the URL blank. Or you can use that space to promote your blog or YouTube channel or wherever you may like people to follow you. Try it!
Okay, now I know! When you post your name, with a URL of a place you want to promote, people will be able to go to that website by clicking on your name. You can right click and go there in another tab. Thank you for reading! I like this format okay. Let me know what you think, and if we should keep it this way!
ReplyDeleteGood evening Lynda,
ReplyDeleteI miss reading your blogs and others. I use to get your blog automatically in my e-mail.
Now I have to find the time to get to your website.
I am on Spark360 but it is so different. It seems easy to enter food eaten but I can't find anyplace where I can track my water.
The weather here in Michigan has been warm and humid. I was wondering will your daughter be able to visit now that they opened up the border?
Well guess I better get going. I will check in again. Stay healthy and don't work to hard. Sparkpeople1951
Just look at all the comments you've generated in the short time you've had this blog! I'm hoping that makes you feel connected (and comforted), knowing so many of the Spark community are still with you. Special thanks to Oceana Blessing for finding a way for us to comment without setting up separate accounts!
ReplyDeleteI am happy to hear that Tess is doing better. I keep trying to enter a comment and am having a problem. Don't know if this will work this time.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see you blogging here!
ReplyDeleteAlso happy that Tess made a turn for the better and himself had his ears tuned up!
You are doing great -- .5 pound loss is also good!
Keep sparking!
Just when I think I can’t take another hot humid day, fall comes along and I love the changing leaves!
ReplyDeleteI love the 4 seasons we have here.
I have a. Brand new pair of hearing aids in a box….can’t quite get used to wearing them.
So glad Tess is doing better. And congrats on the .5. I’ve been stuck on the same number for a month.
I'm so glad to have found your blog again! I do not know what is wrong with SparkPeople to have limited it to just America, but it their loss. I think I will unsubscribe with them as I was really only coming to read your blog everyday! You are so down to earth and understand how day to day living affects how we think about and react with our eating. So glad that you continue to lose weight and to encourage all of "your people". Had a total knee replacement on 7/30 and a revision surgery on 8/12 due to a broken tibia near the implant. Have lost almost 10 lbs since 8/4 ( this is a good thing)due to a diminished appetite. I am hoping that it continues for another 30 pounds as it is much easier to lose weight when you are not hungry all of the time. Best of luck to you with your new blog! I'll be checking in everyday!
ReplyDeleteThat is great Tess is doing better praying she continues to do that.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on losing more weight. You are doing an amazing job.
That is so "kind" of himself to find all kinds of things for you to do....
I love your mom's sayings because my mom said them also.
Hope tomorrow you get to garden. Too bad you can't act like you can't hear him!!!
Good Evening, Lynda. Glad your errands are done and that Tess is hanging in there. A good sign that she is still eating and is able to do her business. it is good that the hearing aids could be repaired and cleaned. I will check in again tomorrow. Beth (bmosko).
ReplyDeleteWell done, enjoy the gardening and the fresh air .
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your weight loss. Maybe you can cook the beef and freeze most of it. So glad to hear that Tess is doing well!
ReplyDeleteI think I finally figured this out...
ReplyDeleteThanks for finding a way to blog.

ReplyDeletehave a fantastic day
I rarely purchase a roast, as while I enjoy it I simply cannot eat my way through one. On occasion I'll get a small roast and cut it into half and make it.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Tess is still enjoying life and you have her company a bit longer. Happy Thursday!!
That Don't worry poster is adorable...and just what I needed today.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like you do that for me often.

ReplyDeleteI have been busy with company and haven't had a lot of time for blogs so I am starting with the 19th and working down. You lady Jane have a lot on your plate. I found a hearing aid in a dressing room when I was in Fl. Last winter. It's a good thing that I rememnbered the girl that was in the room before me because I found her in the store and asked her if it was hers. She said I just saved her 2000.00 dollars. She was happy and then a friend on facebook who lives just down from us a couple of blocks said her husband was out on his scooter and came home without his. I will have to ask her if she ever found it. Happy Tess is enjoying her life and is still able to eat.
ReplyDeleteYou always make me laugh! We are not on Spark anymore but I still love your blogs SO much!:)
