The "Indiana Jones" new hat!-----and --What?--Me worry?

This is it--the hat that I came home with for Himself-which has not been on his head yet!

I sent a picture to the Family Chat line, and Son #2, the Air Canada Pilot, called it an "Indiana Jones" hat AND--he put a video of the Indiana Jones theme song-Dun dun dun--It was so funny!--At least it made Himself and I laugh!

So, I have a problem here- I'm eating too much--This A.M. I put a notebook down on the kitchen table--and--I wrote what went in the mouth and what exercise I did and how long-  What am I ever going to do?-- I miss that chat from Spark, which told us the calories for each item-

--and I miss chatting to you all individually--  How can I do that when you add comments?-- There must be a way!

Other than that, life just rolls on---in the heat---It seems that I never get enough sleep---  It also seems that the news  everywhere is bad---The covid counts are up---- and all of it makes me wonder how all my kids are going to survive in the years to come--Lord love a Duck!

It's a good thing that I never worry isn't it?----  LOLOLOL---I do believe that chatting away to you all, helps me  to worry less---

 Sushi says hello to y'all!

  1. I love the "Indiana Jones" hat...you put a smile on my face everyday. I know what you mean about what goes in our mouths, I eat something and then I say to myself why did I do that. I miss spark everyday.

    Have a great Sunday

    Tell Sushi hi

  2. Sushi looks fine and dandy! Food prices, especially for meat, are getting higher here. Fruits and vegetables will be next.
A good old notebook works well. By now, the calories are mostly memorized. Maybe you can but those menu sheets online, easy to write in those, if need be. Just make your own copies. But realistically, it all gets tiresome …………that’s why weight loss is a billion dollar business. People willing to grasp at straws, pills, plans. Really, percentage rate is not high to ever be done with it all. Job security for those in the diet business…..

  3. Sushi is a beautiful cat and I love the Indiana Jones hat. Calorie counting is hard especially when eating out but I’m finding that myfitnesspal.com is good for looking up the calories much like SparkPeople was. I have been keeping track faithfully since SP ended and keeping your blog site next to it so I can check both daily. Have a great day today! πŸ‘ πŸ’

  4. I really like his new hat. Now if he would put it on and model it for us. I cannot believe your grocery bill!!! I guess I would start writing down my food and try to keep from going over my calorie count. You'll figure it out Lynda. Check out my fitness pal.

  5. There must be a way to respond to comments, but don't ask me how to do it! You're doing great that you get your blogs posted - and with pictures! I've yet to attempt a blog. I guess when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. I must not be ready!

Love the hat. You're family is so much fun to read about. Keep entertaining us with your family stories!

  6. I'd been thinking about what you said yesterday about eating and keeping a record. For a long long time I used MyFitnessPal to record my food every day and was able to use it to compare with my glucose readings so I'd know what works and what doesn't work as far my diabetes goes.

So I started recording my meals again. There's a web app you can use, but there's also an app you can use on your phone for MyFitnessPal and the phone app lets you scan the barcode on stuff which makes it a LOT faster to log your food. And then at the end of the day (or when you're finished adding food for the day) it will tell you how you did and if everyday were like this day, what you would weigh in 5 weeks. It helps. Plus you see the calories and carbs for everything you log. There's many of us from Spark over on there too to offer encouragement.

I LOVE the hat too! It's great for you but it will be stunning on HIMSELF!!

    ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

  7. I know that your fellow Canadian Sparkers that blog here know how to reply to each one of the comments. That's as far as my knowledge goes lol. There are plenty of free places to track what you eat, a google search is a good idea. None is quite like SP, but no choice. The Indiana Jones hat is wonderful and it gave me a good chuckle. Sushi is having the time of her life! What a cutie!

  8. Hi, Sushi!
Lynda, thanks for chatting away to all of us. I swear it's one of the few fragile links left that I have to keeping my sanity.
I'm eating too much and sleeping too little, too.
The hat is very handsome - I think Himself will look dashing in it!
(Hugs) (on the laptop, no emojis or emoticons here - LOL kinda my version of your hopalong!)
    (more hugs)

  9. If you want to reply to comments on your Blog, you can re-do your settings. As I only read blogs here and don't blog, I can't help you with it.

You originally had the comment section set up so that others could make a comment on the comment (with a "Reply" button), but then the comment section got changed to this format which doesn't seem to let a person post a rely to a certain comment.

When I look at ONEKIDSMOM's comment section on her blog, I see where she has replied to comments. Sometimes there even seems to be a conversation...

You' get it figured out somehow.

    1. If you read the comments on your blog, under each one, there is a little "Reply" link, which will open a new comment entry box, replying to *that* specific comment. The commenter has to remember to come back to your blog to check for your response, and can then reply to your reply... thus the conversation. It's all about that little "reply".

  10. ROSESAREBLUE : You do well . I was a CCA for over 5 years so I have seen many people taking care of their loved ones and just doing all the day to day life stuff , like grocery shopping . I know you must have some challenging times . Many times our families have their own challenges going on , so help can be a hit and a miss . So what I am saying is ; you did well in getting the hat . By the by . Do you have a dollar store up there ? I have gotten a similar hat for men ( which I wear mowing the lawn ) for 4 dollars . Take care .

  11. I did change the comment format, because people were complaining that they didn't know how to comment, and I'd read that "full page" comments helped more people to do this. Maybe we will try going back, but with a note to people commenting on how this is done.

Love the hat too! It will look great on your hubby!

P.S. You never needed a Google account to comment. 3 options: a Google account, use your name (you can disregard the place to add a website), or be anonymous

  12. Love the hat! Definitely indy jones! LOL

**SIGH** Yes, it is hard to keep it together w/o Sparks. **SIGH (just felt it deserved 2 sighs.)

Eventually, it'll seem more normal. It'll never be totally normal, but more normal.

    HUGs

  13. Sushi is a beautiful cat. She has done well under your loving care. One would never believe she is the same cat who came in from the cold. The hat looks great. Himself should be happy with it. Good to see I can now post as Willow again. Thanks Brennan

  14. The hat looks great on you. Tacked on my garage wall I have my father's hat he wore when gardening (RIP 1997) -- it's like the Jacobson Hat Company Men's Adult Pith Helmet on Amazon.

Note for Sushi: You are one lucky cat in that the human you found has taken such wonderful care of you, allowing you to integrate in her household at your own speed.

  15. You are definitely a worrier. I am too but I think you beat everyone! Maybe writing everything that you eat down and the amount of exercise done will do a lot of good. I think it's a good thing to do.

  16. Love the hat... I see that Brennan had changed the comment format and changed it back, so what I suggested will work again!

  17. I miss the food tracker too, very much, plus the exercise tracker. MFP is just not the same. I feel lost by not tracking as I did. Have to make it a priority now. Don't need those extra carbs.

  18. Tell Sushi hello! I hope your husband takes to the hat; it looks nice. There are a few free sites where you can log your meals and move-its; I switched over to MyFitnessPal, and I've a few people say they like MyFatSecret (although I'm not a fan of the name.) Hopefully you can find a site that will work for you. Even with taking the time to figure it out it seems easier and faster to me than writing it out on paper and figuring stuff out. And I think I saw a reference to Cronometer as a good site?

    Happy Sunday!

  19. Hi, Lynda. Beth here. I like the hat but wonder why Himself hasn't worn it. I think it would look good on him. Sushi seem like a very laid back cat. I enjoy seeing her and the Germans. I am looking at a few free sites. It would be nice if we could try them out without signing up. If I figure out one that works I will let you know so maybe you can give it a try. Enjoy the rest of your evening. Until tomorrow.

  24. Hi Sushi 😻 Pretty kitty! Lynda, MyFitnessPal has a great tracker. It's free too. You could give it a try and see how you like it? Nice looking new hat for Himself...you know, my husband prefers his well worn caps too πŸ˜€ Maybe Himself can "break" his in a little at a time. Have a wonderful day 😊

  25. The hat is cute on you!

I'm surprised Beau reacted like that to your son. I would think he's familiar with him...Maybe your son acted too fast and scared the pup.

    I miss family fun like that. {{{Hugs}}}

I am logging my calories on MyFitnessPal. It is really helping! I’m down 13 pounds!!!! Finally. It seems much harder as you get older! But, I’m working on it!
    Have a wonderful day!
