Our power was out for 2 days--but--to-day--WE HAVE THE POWER!

The above is a picture of a mini tornado, which passed through this area 2 days go, at 5-30pm--If you look closely, there are 2 names of towns near the bottom of the "red"--The top name is "Elliot Lake", where I live. --And all that red, --a huge bad storm, passed right over us-- Actually, the city of Elliot Lake got the worst of the storm--but we had the rain and the wind--AND THAT IS THE REASON THT

THERE HAS BEEN NO BLOG ON HERE____

You see, we lost "power"---   no phone--no house phone or cell--no internet-- and, a very grouchy HIMSELF--because, without power--NO TELEVISION--

-I kept pretty busy--(women always are busy aren't we?---)--but--92 year old men---well, he was beside himself--felt very sorry for himself--so kind of "went on strike"----decided that life wasn't worth living, and  crawled into his shell--and did not put forth very much effort to keep these home fires going!

Every day I did go to town to retrieve something from some store that remained open, so I saw people who I could talk to----Himself would not venture out with me--so, he did get himself into "the depths of despair" which, since the T.V., is once again in action, he has returned to normal.

Lord love a Duck eh? --losing "power" when one is getting up there in age, is not good! -- They never told me that when we got ,married--many moons ago--

--well--sometimes , it lasts longer---
Now, back to the alarm ringing the other day---  Some of you were asking what it was--It turned out to be  a Carbon Dioxide Monitor in the basement, which was dated 2010 ----  We have since bought a new one--  but, with no power, and a generator working so hard in the yard, it was a good thing it was replaced before all this happened!  ---  life with a generator is not the best either, but, it's better than not having one!   Son #4, came out so many times, to fill the generator with gas---  bless his heart!

So, cherish this day---  and cherish your body-- during all the chaos without power, my walking kinda took 2nd place--but--- I was off and "hoofing" this AM---  and TESS did a short walk with me--so, she told me that she is trying to stay in this world--
i spoke to the 99 yr old woman yesterday , and she told me that she does a short walk every day--
And she looks great!
WE can do this too--  WE Have The Power!

  2. So glad that you guys are ok. Yes, men without their TV - at any age - get grumpy! I’m glad that you were able to make some people contact during the power outage. You have such a great attitude about life! That’s why I enjoy your blogs so much.

  3. Praise God no one was hurt!! That does look terribly stormy! It's really a good thing you have a generator! Good son, bringing gasoline out for you. Himself is in tough shape with no TV... I am hoping when it's time for him to have another doctor visit, they may offer some help for his mental state/mental health! Hang in there, m'dear!!

  4. My DH also freaks out if the power (or satellite) goes out. On our cruise he yelled at the bad news on TV and yelled if he couldn't get it. lol

That is awesome that you talked to that 99 yr. old woman! HIMSELF needs to take to her!

HUGS cuz you need 'em after your experience!

  6. It sounds like you could be ready for the zombie apocalypse out there. That's where I'd want to be, in a rural area. I'm glad things got straightened out, and returned to normal.

  9. I’m glad you are ok after that bad storm. Good thing for your generator. We have one as well but it works with our natural gas here and it hasn’t had to come on too much since we got it. Nice to know it’s there though especially in the winter. I’m happy that Tess is still doing well and that himself is back to normal. Have a good weekend. πŸ‘ πŸ•‍🦺 ⚡️πŸ’¦

  12. You sure were clomse to that tornado and not having power for 2 days is better than things crashing down all around you. Great that your son kept the generator gassed up and yep, I'm like Fred - - grumpy if I can't get my computer or TV on, LOL. Ahh, we do go through a lot Lynda, good thing we're survivors. Hugs.

  21. I can't imagine being without power for 2 days but I understand what you said about the difference between women and men. When we lose power (for maybe a few hours at most) I am also busy while my husband doesn't know what to do with himself! Funny. And I see that Tess is doing better. I'm hoping there is a way I can get a reminder when you publish a blog!

  27. Glad you survived. A storm rolled through Thursday night, and my main power line is laying about 6 inches off the ground with a 15 year old tree laying on it. We haven't lost post thankfully, however it did pull the cable from the house and looks like a giant jumprope in the yard.

  28. Gosh, Lynda! I'm so glad to hear y'all are safe. Tornadoes are nasty business and that one was so close. And so glad Himself has his TV entertainment back to give you some peace of mind. So happy to hear from you again ❤
