Why do I worry so much?- I do everything pretty much in this house and so far, in all my years, everything has gone okay-- I seem to be able to handle life in the North, with my aging husband--but----- I DO NEED TO BELIEVE IN MYSELF more!
Anyway, with so many very kind people helping me, and many phone calls to Barb Whitehead , I am now able to reply to your replies on the blogs--so, if you have made a comment, please look back over recent blogs, and yu will see my replies--I never ever in a million years thought I could figure out this blog site, but---Sparkly kind People set it up, and it seems I am doing it--FINALLY!-
So, why am I doing this "blogging"?-- I guess because it took me forever and ever to learn how to eat--that pizza was salty--made me retain water-- Chocolate ice cream at bedtime was not good for me, and ice water was better-- and---a wee bit of exercise, is better than no exercise--and ever so slowly, (well it took like 120 yrs!)- I began to lose the weight-- AND IF I CAN DO IT AND I AM OLD, I BELIEVE EVERYONE CAN--
And why should we lose weight?--because one day we might meet the Queen?-- (Well not so much)-==- because I must lower my blood pressure-?- I must at least try to live a tad longer--?---- Well, all those reasons, but the "big" but to me, is--- I must be strong-- One never knows what life will bring , and I must handle these situations--
Heard this said about worry: it’s like a rocking chair in that it never gets you anywhere! I empathize though-it’s a habit too. I love summer tomatoes!!
ReplyDeleteEach day is a day to start over!!!π
Yes, -"-worry " really is like a rocking chair- yu rock and rock , but yu are in the same place-- I hope yer day goes well-It so much cooler here today--so nice! Lynda
DeleteBoy, do I relate to the 3am wake and worry! My husband is 80 now, only a year older than I, and he does his share of stuff that I really need to learn to do "just in case". We're both healthy, so far. Wish I could just appreciate today and let tomorrow's worries take care of themselves, but if I haven't learned it by now - although, I haven't given up on the healthy living thing day by day, so maybe there's hope! (I like the "rocking chair" thing)
ReplyDeleteJust stay strong--Keep the ol' body in condition--- I never knew that my Himself would ever be 93! Lynda
DeleteWe don't seem to have any luck growing tomatoes at our house so we have been going to our farmer's market...We got some free coupons from our senior center and we can get free fruits and veggies with them.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Friday
He grew these on our deck--in full sun-- Pretty good --Lynda
DeleteThe first thing I thought of was "don't worry, be happy" Nice tomatoes Doc!
ReplyDeleteRight---- Don't worry--Be happy--but--- I WORRY--Lordy !--- Nice to chat with yu----Lynda
DeleteHimself must have a green thumb to grow those tomatoes in pots. There is nothing better than home grown vegetables. When I was young my mom would spend many nights sitting at the kitchen table playing solitaire because she couldn't sleep. I thought she should just try harder. Now I spend many nights unable to sleep and I understand what she went through. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it awful that we worry so much?--If I only had a million dollars eh?--Lynda
DeleteThanks so much for this uplifting blog - I needed to read this today! By the way, the tomatoes are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWell, we can try ---not every day will be a good dAy--but--- I figure a 10 minute walk is better than nothing-- and so ne days I walk for 20 minutes-- Lynda
DeleteThank you for the encouragement today! I needed that. It seems like I'm not doing the right things anymore. Time to get off that pity party and start now, as it 'I" can do this also.
ReplyDeleteJust try a wee bit harder --everyday-- Yesterday in sky life was not great-- I watched CNN and it threw me off-- ut--to-day is good--Soon one has more better days than weird days--LOL_Lynda
DeleteI agree if we set our mind to it we can do anything ..You got to want it.
ReplyDeleteLove the tomatoes
Enjoy your day
-WE CAN! --Everyday is not great --- but--- just keep trying--I think it pays off in the end-Lynda
DeleteI agree, middle of the night is the worst time to worry about things, that you might have forgotten to do. It happens to me a lot. Love the tomatoes. We moved from the South side of our town where we could grow lots of tomatoes to the North side and now we struggle for a pot or 2 to grow. Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteI know--4-30am---- there I am trying to figure out life-- but-- the morning always comes and all seems OK--Crazy-Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda. Yay! I finally figured out how to comment. I love your blogs to pieces. Your comments about worrying really hit home. I do that too and do not want to. Thanks for your positivity! I need it so bad.
ReplyDeleteOh Dorothy--- How can we not worry eh with all that is going on--but--we do get thru everyday-- I do believe I must stay strong-- --Not eat the chocolate ice cream--I had to stop buy- it--LOLOL---- Lynda
DeleteOh my! Those are really good looking tomatoes! Congrats to himself for nurturing those plants!
ReplyDeleteWorrying . . . MOm just always said it never gets you anywhere. She's right. So just have to stop, right!?!
HUGS
I love fresh Summer tomato . . . I have a bowl like that sitting on my counter along with about 8 cucumbers. Did you know you spend more calories to eat a cucumber that it has? It is like exercise while eating!
ReplyDeleteYou know you could sell those tomatoes to Tim Horton's because : The new Caprese Sandwich features fresh mozzarella cheese paired with pesto aioli, lettuce and ""tomatoes"" on an artisan-style bun.
ReplyDeleteYou have a talented Himself... not bad. Tomatoes are so good for us!
ReplyDeleteWe are human beings, with a big brain, so worry is what we do. Part of our way of processing life. Mental health requires it.
ReplyDeleteLovely tomatoes, now is their time. Very allergic to cucumbers, can not even smell them, don’t bring me any, lol! Do vanilla light ice cream, you won’t eat too much. Try Healthy Choice fudge bars, not so much calories, once a day. You will still lose weight. Take care, stay safe. We are in dire straits in Texas , low caliber citizens…..
Those are the best looking tomatoes. Congrats to himself! You're a worrier like me. I hate waking up and thinking about things that I can't do anything about anyway. And you are doing good with the weight loss and habits. You know what your issues are and you work on them. Job well done!
ReplyDeleteLovely tomatoes.
ReplyDeleteYou got that right, gf! Where there is a will there is a way. All we need to do is BELIEVE...in ourselves first and foremost. I try to balance...not only what I eat, but exercise, vs relaxation, socialization vs alone time, spiritual activities like prayer and meditation. Above all live with LOVE for your dear ones, yourself, the Queen...and everyone.
ReplyDeleteLove those tomatoes!
ReplyDeleteTomatoes look good.Enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteI wish our tomatoes looked as good as yours do. ππ enjoy the weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'm so loving this sense of togetherness when I read your blogs. You are a very strong woman. I know you can do it. And that gives me hope that I can do it too. Well said. Have a great evening.
ReplyDeleteI use to worry a lot but managed over time to stop and I use to take the blame over everything that ever went wrong whether it was my fault or not. Hubby got me to stop that by saying - it's your sister's fault and considering my sister lives in Florida and it couldn't possibly be her fault it would stop me and make me realize that it wasn't my fault either. Worry I got over by in my mind putting a big red slash over it and saying - you will not steal my joy. Now I handle stuff when needed but until it is in my hands I leave it in God's hands because he has this and no place in the bible did it ever say - God helps those who helps themselves, it actually says - trust in Me.
ReplyDeleteI worry about my health because I live alone and there is no one but me to take care of the house and yard. This year I've had several health challenges but have managed to keep up with everything.
ReplyDeleteYummy looking tomatoes!! Sadly I can relate to the 3:30 a.m. wake up... only mine is about an hour early. Must be something in the air because a couple of friends report similar times. I try to distract myself before the anxiety comes to the surface... not very successfully. I will stand in a Northwest facing window and wave to you tomorrow!! Hugs
ReplyDeleteYou are doing great and I am so glad you got all the blog stuff figured out so you can share so many wonderful things with us. Those tomatoes look amazing and they taste so good when they are homegrown. Yum! Have a great weekend and believe in yourself!!!:) Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHimself did a great job with the tomatoes! Beck planted two patio pots of tomatoes in our little garden and I think she harvested 6 tomatoes today. I only see two more hanging from the plants. Oh well, send himself our way and maybe he can teach her a thing or two about tomato plants. LOL (((HUGS)))

His tomatoes look very good. I have two plants and in July I had 5 ripe tomatoes. Now I have some green ones and I just brought 5 in to finish ripening. The tomato plants were not very good this year and I have heard numerous people say that there veggies were not doing well. Our weather has not been that great in Wi this summer. Hopefully next spring and summer will be better.
ReplyDeleteLovely tomatoes! We've had lots of cherry tomatoes! Grandsons love to pick them (and peas and beans), but the big ones are only starting to turn!
ReplyDeletePretty tomatoes...Himself must have a green thumb π
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you are blogging here too! And those tomatoes look yummy, Himself did a great job with them!
