I left that sign  "large"--because-----(and yu will never believe this!)----- MY WEIGHT IS DOWN!

Holy Cow!---AS of yesterday, I weigh--194.5     SO, " I CAN", if I try REALLY REALLY hard!  You know, if I could ever get to 190, I would be SO so happy-----That would mean my blood pressure would be down a bit too!-----Even tho  I am not on the "spark" site (due to stuff beyond my control)---I CAN STILL DO THIS!

I am smiling! ---And if I can do this, I guess we all can do this!

So, what else is new?- Well, I looked down at the dock this AM., and I thought, "That doesn't look right!" So, I ran downstairs, and walked out onto our deck, and took a second look-- The floating dock had drifted in- was not tied way out in the lake. Luckily, it had bumped into our dock, on it's adventure of floating to shore.

At first I called Son #3 and told him the problem--then I thought, "No, I Can Do This Myself--maybe!"  So, I took some rope from the garage and down I went, and laid on my stomach and reached as far as I could without falling into the lake, grabbed a corner of the floating dock, and pulled it towards me--then tied it-- then called Son#3, and told him , the dock was OK for now!

The TV in the kitchen was blaring away when I got back up --I guess Canada is not bringing any more people for now out of Afghanistan after flying out about 8000 people , I think.  My heart breaks watching these people carrying their young children to safety. Hopefully more people can get out in neighbouring countries.

It is sunny-- and Lord Love A Duck! ---  WE are a part of to-day--WE CAN!

  9. Yes, I agree with the comments above that you ARE a super-woman. I can just see you determinedly pulling that floating dock in and tying it "for now". You are strong!

Congrats on the weight loss, by the way. Yes, we can use Spark going away as a spur to further efforts, can't we?

    Spark on!

  12. You can...we all can...and the people from Afghanistan will be safe. But can you imagine the personal stuff they had to leave behind?

    You fixed the dock! Great job! I'd be hesitant myself. With my knee replacement, it's hard to get down on the ground. AND getting back up is NOT pretty! {{{HUGS}}}

  13. Wow! Congratulations on your weight loss Lynda. I wish I could say the same but with it being too hot to walk I am having a hard time. My exercise class starts up September 7 th so that should help. It’s too bad about stopping the flights from Afghanistan and I hope more can make it out by land. Good job with the dock - lucky it floated to your dock and not somewhere else. I’m late today as I had to get groceries because I’m looking after my grandson tomorrow. 👍

  14. You are fearless, Lynda! How great, to be able to tell your son you fixed the dock thing yourself! 😊. Glad you are feeling good, just dealing with the weight yourself. You are your own positive force. We still are stuck with super heat wave here, but our AC is necessary throughout September, because it’s Texas.

  15. Not sure how many Spark refugees are on the Spark 360 as there's no community. The tracking is laborious and I've stopped logging on there. There are many refugees on MyFitnessPal and it's a nice way to stay connected. And...like you...they post a blog here. There are more than one way to "skin a cat". That's my mother. ;-)

  16. Yes, it is heartbreaking seeing what is going on in Afghanistan. I understand after the 2 bomb blasts today that 12 of our Marines were killed. **SIGH** My prayers are going up.

Good for you for getting that dock corralled! Proud of you. That YES I CAN attitude worked!

And congrats on the weight! YOU CAN DO IT!

  18. Congratulations on losing more weight. AWESOME job my dear friend!!! You are doing it without Sparks. I think a lot of people are finding out they can do it without Sparks.

The new Spark is having a lot of problems from what I am reading. But they did teach us how to go after the things we really want. We have had to find new ways to get what we want but we are getting there.

Wow you are just full of great things today - you even got the floating dock under control. Your son should be proud of you.

I am so embarrassed as to how our government has handled the situation in Afghanistan. I can't believe they have caused this much of a mess. I pray that everyone can get out safe before it is too late.

  19. Congrats on further weight loss. And then putting the dock back together yourself. You are incredible - much stronger and better than I can possibly do. keep up the great work. Re Afghanistan, we are letting a lot of people there down. Hopefully the government does step up to do more.
