HAPPY NEW YEAR Y'ALL!

I am VERY late posting--because--- I went for groceries at 8am----and I did get bananas and oranges-- AND I WORE 2 masks--- The store was not crowded which was good----  but is probably very crowded now!---This is the last day of this year--so--I shall wish you all the very best for the new year 2022---Lord love a Duck!--So, if you are going to eat anything that is bad for you, do it now , before we are into a new year--

Himself and I will be home--will be going to our living room for New Years Eve--  spending it with Lopez, Sushi and Beau--and my very good book! ---

 

Hop out of Bed and put your Sass on!

It HAS to be a good day! Probably something will happen to-day to make us have a good day!--I feel it in my bones!-

Yesterday, I shovelled snow ALL day!-Our driveway snowplough guy never appeared--He is kind of "hit and miss"-- I was ready to fire him--but--Himself said I must give him more chances--so--at 93 yrs, Himself went out with our snowblower which is pretty scary to watch--

We got thru the day however-- Good thing that I am a strong woman! Lord love a Duck!--Well, one more day ion 2021 and it will be nice to start the new year-- AND--the days are getting longer--- and there is only January, February and March---and it will be Spring!---  And yu know what happens then?--

We just might forget  -----because we will be so happy to feel the warmer weather!-- ---There is always "hope" isn't there that things will improve-- no more snow--- the virus might be gone--and---our world will return to normal--whatever that is! --Until to-morrow then----

 

There is never a dull moment here!

 The weight is down again--Eventually I will get to 165-It is hovering now around 184---That is the good news --The bad news is that even my jeans are looking  pretty bad right now-baggy and I have too haul them up---You see, as the weight drops, hopefully the blood pressure drops too-

So, I have bought new pillows for our bed--  I have them on  my side of the bed already, but, there is a bit of a problem here. Himself is telling me that his pillow is just fine and don't change it----Now his pillow is from the dark ages--I'm sure that we have had the pillows on our bed forever--so long, that I can't remember when I bought them! -- So this morning, I took the pillow from his side , and replaced one of his with a new one. Hopefully he won't notice!-----  I put the old one away, just in case  he discovers what I did! -----I used to do that with his shirts---  put a nice new shirt on his side of the closet--take all the tickets off-- and hope for the best! --You see, Himself does not enjoy anything new! --and when he made the discovery  --of course I would say, "Oh it has been there all along"---  so, the shirt would never get worn for at least 10 years--

Lopez is on the "Bell system" now--Every 90 minutes the bell rings and we go out and he does his business-- At the same time I am looking into all your suggestions yesterday as well as a book on Chihuahuas----He is a little scallywag  as my Dad used to say--and the Omicron  Boy, (Son#2) is isolating--did another test and it's still positive--but he seems to be OK---  The virus  was not bad for him--mostly a stuffy nose--but he has been vaccinated 3 times--

So, We have snow falling--AGAIN--

The picture of the Germans (as in dogs) -on the bike-- is from our daughter --She said, its our Germans in Heaven, riding their bikes--I hung them yesterday  in the spare bedroom-----------Lord love a Duck!-I must get moving--There is never a dull moment here!--

This is Son#2, the Pilot--- and to-day is his Birthday-- I just spoke to him on the phone--He calls it his Omicron Birthday--He sounds so much better--is isolating upstairs in his room--His wife is on another floor of his house--so far, she is OK--  They both have had 3 vaccinations , so he should recover fast-- He says he will retest to-day--but will continue to isolate--Poor fella eh--and on is Birthday too! --

So, I have been out--shovelled a bit of the drive--plus one  Chihuahua path--This little Chihuahua did his business under our kitchen table yesterday--while we were having lunch--so----we (or me!) well, I am back to stage one AGAIN--- to get it in his head that , doing what he did, is NOT allowed! --Do any of you have advice on how to get it in his head, that he must go outside?--We have a bell on the door too, and I take his paw and hit it, to try to interest him , to let me know, to put him out.---  I did call the pet store  Lady and she  told me to just keep at it--eventually he will learn-that he is only 4 mos---Lord love a Duck!

The weight---????---Well, it is sitting at 185.5--- Christmas stoppage here--but--(always the big "butt")-it will continue to go down now that we are back to a sort of normal--Oh--One more thing--I am ordering more KN95 masks-- This virus is SO SO contagious and until they Arrive, I will double mask for sure!

--And-----We are blessed to see to-day! --- If it weren't for our daughter, I'd probably have picked up the new variant! --You see, Christmas Eve, I was in tears--I wanted so much to go and be with all our children and Grandchildren at Son #4's house. She kept telling me, "It's just one day Mom!--There will be extra people there and you and Dad don't want to be exposed to them!"-- --so, I stayed home--cried a lot--and then, began to wonder how many other people were alone over the Holiday-???--And most of us were---

I'm telling you all this, because Son #2, the Air Canada Pilot who just returned from the UK., will not be visiting us  between Christmas and New Years-- He picked up the new variant---he will test again, but his one test did show a marginal positive so he is at home, isolating , and feels pretty  tired and sick--like a head cold-- sore throat--and stuffy nose. He said this morning, "You and Dad don't want to get this Mom!" He went on to tell me how contagious this virus is!-- Too bad too , as he has travelled all over the world for the past 2 years and never picked it up--  and now----He has it--

I am OK now--reading all your messages yesterday helped me a lot-- We are not alone--seems like we are all taking precautions  ----kinda a different  Christmas!

Life really is a series of tiny miracles--It amazes me that  this son  did not arrive here with the virus---a tiny miracle! 

We are expecting  snow to-day, which is a good thing--It will cover the ice that we have so much of outside--And, Lord love a Duck! --I do hope that you are shouting from the rooftops, that  we made it through another Pandemic Christmas! --

The Amazon Christmas!

I just read all your posts on Christmas in your house! --We got thru it didn't we?----  And it sounds like we made the best of a very different Christmas!--Himself and I are  just fine!--  We ate our own Christmas Turkey, with mashed potatoes and turnip with a Toblerone Cheese Cake, compliments of son #1---It was so hard not to join the rest of the family Christmas Eve--  I shed a few tears over that!--  Thank goodness for our daughter in Ohio who told me, "It is only one day Mom! You can do it! Stay home!"----so, we did! and you know, it was kinda nice to have a day alone---  I even enjoyed it! 

Son#2, the Air Canada Pilot, who did a flight to the UK just before Christmas, is now isolating in his room, in his home.--He has a headache and a head cold, and tested himself and it  was right on the line--for the variant. He has been vaccinated 3 times, so he will be OK---- but------He was supposed to come up here --and now--who knows?--

Of course he will retest, but--his visit is "on hold"--- for now---So many flights  have been cancelled due to lack of workers to  man them--! ------

So what did I get for Christmas?---  Well, the gift of life--Lord love a Duck!--the best gift ever! ---And like the rest of you, I am so grateful! (and--I bought myself a new vacuum--a dyson!)---and my glasses---  and, what did Himself get--from me?----new sensible slippers from Amazon---  nice ones with a heel and a good soul--  Of course, he doesn't like them--and probably won't wear them for 10 yrs--Lord love a Duck!--Men don't like new stuff! 

I call this the "Amazon" Christmas ----  Our daughter sent so much thru them--free shipping-- which I did not rewrap upon arriving here--We opened lotza boxes-- 

So that is about it! The Queen survived too I hear---masked too!--Until to-morrow,

It's Christmas Day ---and we are all alive!

I saw him--  I saw Santa  in his sleigh last night--over Australia--en route to all our homes-- The best gift to all of us got is the gift of life!--  As I opened my eyes this morning, I said a wee prayer to the good Lord for keeping me alive--not sick! And we survived Christmas Eve, alone, at home---Well, we were not alone, because we are all in this together----

----So, I am here , so is Himself ----and if any of you are in your homes, alone--well, you really are not alone--because we are all here----and please write and let me know how yu are this Christmas Day----- ----hopefully I can play some Christmas carols-----The front door is open--watch out for the ice--more freezing rain last night--

Remember--the best gift to us all is the gift of life!  Lord love a Duck! We made it!

MERRY CHRISTMAS___ lighten our hearts!

--Santa is on his way--and he knows that we are ALL nice! And if you are feeling kinda blue , being home alone--because of COVID--please don't feel this way----  because---  Santa and I have you covered--I asked him to send warm happy contented thoughts to all of you (and Me!)- for Christmas---so, all you have to do is turn on "leanjean6.blogger.com"----and --we can all be here ---- in spirit of course---  I will answer all your comments----so----WE WILL NOT BE ALONE------because---- WE ARE ALIVE----and there will be another Christmas for sure, because we are safe here---  and, if you want to talk to anyone on the Blog----  send them a message on  my blog---

I tried to go to a grocery store yesterday, but the parking lot was so full--out to the highway--that I felt it just wasn't safe-so, of course we are out of bananas-----I shall try to pick some up at Rexall which is always open!

Well, ya jess never know eh?--- When I was a kid, visiting my Grampa in Port Perry , Ontario, Grampa looked up , at the kitchen table, and said, "Look, there is Santa in his sleigh right now--Look up!"--and at 4 years old , I saw the jolly old guy--Santa was there, because Grampa said so! ---

Anyway, Himself and I will be celebrating Christmas, here, in our home , this year-- Hopefully the kids will drop out--And I will spend it with all of you--so----please feel free to drop in --send a message--and we can ALL be together! 

This little fellow--Lopez, got a new bed yesterday--  bigger--and he couldn't go out this morning  as soon as he woke up, because it was minus 17.1 C--  It is minus 15C C  now--so he put his coat on (Well we put it on him)- and he did his business outside--No-undescended testicle yet---  

I had Himself check--because, I suppose if it doesn't appear soon, the vet wants to do surgery on him--said in 2 mos-- Imagine the poor wee guy going under the knife --He is so tiny--going on 8 pounds I think! 

I'm thinking that we will all be safe  over Xmas-- safe from the virus--I hope!-- and I will play the piano for yu all Christmas day-- maybe some of you can dance--and for sure we will sing --as it's all virtual--We should be just "Hunky Dory" as Grampa used to say--  Lord love a Duck!--  WE have so many memories---WE can chat about all of them-- Remember your Mom and Dad telling you that if you weren't good , you would either get a rotten potato  or a chunk of coal?--Lord love a Duck! --I could never tell my children that!  

 

Mega decisions this Christmas!

 I read the above and thought, "I need to remember this"--All my grown children are getting together, Christmas Eve at Son#4's house-- I so much want to be there. Already Himself has announced that he will not be going--"Too risky", he says-- and, at 93 yrs , it could be risky!--And if I go, and get the virus, I would bring it home to him---so--decisions --decisions--you see, it won't be just people in our immediate bubble there--because some of the Grandchildren have boyfriends---from college--from work in another city--I know what to do really----STAY HOME ----- but--will I?-------  Now if everyone was tested , the problem could be solved--but---- There is such a shortage of testing kits-- What are all of you doing Christmas eve and Christmas Day-- ?--

To-day, we get a few more minutes of daylight, as yesterday was the shortest day of the year--- In a week, I believe we gain about 15 more daylight minutes.--

"Good things are coming-"--  the above says--I sure hope so! ---  I hope this summer that we will be more --back to normal--I hope that our daughter and her family will be able to visit--- I did hear that we will require a 4th  vaccine--4 mos from our 3rd Booster--Lord love a Duck! My last name now should be Phiezer  -----We must do what we must do to avoid the  situation I guess! 

Lord love a Duck! We really should thank our lucky stars that we all are well! 

This jolly man will be soon coming down the chimney--and he is looking pretty healthy--I may have to ask him for some testing kits- Decisions decisions! 

Wishing for "normal times" Santa!

 This is Son#1 on the left--Son#2 in the middle-- with their 2nd cousin--Right now, Son#1 is in the UK---returning to-day--He did say that the Queen is not taking any visitors due to the Covid . Doesn't it make one feel better, knowing that we ALL (even the Queen) are in this together! ---Lord love a Duck!--I have spoken to Son#2 this AM--said the kids swim coach and wife, will be on his return flight to-day--Imagine!--2 people from little old Elliot Lake , on the Dreamliner-He absolutely loves it when he knows someone on his flight.--

I must tell you that wee Lopez  has NOT had an accident in this house for 2 days now. Things are looking up for sure! I was trying  to clean upstairs here this morning too, and you'd think it "was the end of the world"---  all the crying that went on from Mr Lopez who was  penned in on the main level.

The news to-day is all about the virus--kinda tired of it---  but--it does remind one to be mindful!---Isn't it a very different world that we live in now?--- --climate change (My Mom never heard of that!)--and a Pandemic-- (Who would ever think?)-

So, Santa Claus  who lives very near here, is  getting his sleigh ready--I can hear him Ho-ho ho-ing when I walk to the mail box--I think I might've even seen him thru the trees--He did ask me if I knew who was naughty or nice ----I told him that everyone I knew , was really really nice! -----

--well---  maybe not all the time! --We are all kinda tired of everything that has been thrown at us lately-- Can you just make things normal Santa???

And here is little 7 pound Lopez--the wee fella who has turned our lives upside down--I was SO so grateful for everyone's comments yesterday--suggestions on how to deal with the chaos-- encouragement to hang in--that things will improve as he ages--and some of you have  Chihuahuas, so it seemed that you understand what we are going thru--well, what I am going thru--

 We are trying to open up the main level  a bit now, as Son #2 will arrive after Christmas with Gerrard, his dog--and I can imagine  how things will be difficult with furniture blocking the kitchen--Poor Beau--so far, he has been very good with Lopez --no bites-- Lopez climbs all over him, and one of these days Beau just might get fed up and bite him---so------I try to separate them somewhat, whether it is the right thing to do or not-

So, Himself has one hearing aid that is not working, so--this AM (8-30am) --we have an appointment to take it down to the hearing clinic--and--it is snowing!--(Would'nt you just know?)---- If they can't fix it in town, I will have to resurrect the megaphone ---Lord love a Duck! Isn't it great that there is always a backup plan?

So far--so good---  WE are avoiding the virus---  It is worrisome tho, isn't it?--(As if we don't have enough to worry about?)

Will this puppy EVER get it?

It's Sunday--and the blog is late--Blame the bananas!-------We can't seem to eat them all before they ripen-- and we are tired of Banana Bread~ ---Plus, the new rules now are 50%  people in the store--not like before--- so---  We were at No Frills by 8am--I could just walk in--no lines----  Hopefully, that is the last time I go to a grocery , before Christmas (But--I know it won't be!)---

We took wee Lopez and Himself sat in the car with him--- and when we came home, I took Lopez out to do his business and he did a part of the business--but-----  when I brought him in, he did the rest of it on the hall floor-- Will he ever learn??-- It's not looking good! --I got the ol' talk from Himself--It went like this--"You should never have gotten this dog! Life would've been so easy without the Chihuahua--"----and you know what?--- He is right--but--(Here comes "the big BUTT"--)----I don't know if life is ever easy around here--That's what went thru my head---and, how can yu just give away a wee puppy when he has his routine in our house almost down pat---(Mom's expression!)-Lord love a Duck tho!--- When will this puppy "GET IT"?

So---It is time for a nap here-Maybe stuff will; not seem so bad after the nap---  I do love yu all however--and enjoy yer comments-- 

 

Life is good-Sometimes I forget!

 

I hear people around me saying that they are tired of all the restrictions in our lives-Covid restrictions--My own grown children are saying that too--  my daughter's husband, a Doctor, always replies, "Well, Covid isn't tired of you!"-----He is right!--  It is waiting for us to loosen our  masks--let down our guard--and we know it will attack--- And we have come so far---  "Life is Good"----- I cannot forget that!---  if anything, maybe I should "Double mask" in the grocery store-- go earlier when the multitudes are not up yet--Wash my hands when I get home, which I seem to be forgetting at times now---  I never used to forget---

Christmas is just around the corner--  It will be a different type of Christmas for Himself and I--not as many people around us--not so much carolling----- but--(always the big "BUTT")- WE ARE ALIVE! ---Sometimes I forget!----But----  the Virus doesn't forget!  

I just thought I'd throw that in ---  Our life could be worse--We could all be "Cows"-- The poor cows eh---out in the rain--

So, before all of you think that I have completely lost my mind-- 

I just want to remind myself--and you all-- that we CAN fight this virus--and--if you are all at home Christmas Day and feeling sorry for yourself (as I am sure I will be feeling!)-- remember that I am here-- and you can   read "the daily blog" and we can pretend that we are all together--on here--and we will be-together, I mean! 

Vaccinate---Double Mask---- Positive Energy---  A bit longer-- The virus is  not  tired--- It is waiting for us to  give up_--Lord love a Duck!--  WE are not going to do that!-

What a special Birthday thanks to you all!

 You all really are special!---  Wasn't that the best party ever?---Some of you brought warmer air--some of you cleared the drive--Some worked in the kitchen clearing away dishes---and we danced---  and we ate-- and we sang our hearts out--and I absolutely loved it!--Gloria held Lopez the whole day!----  Even Sushi came down to say hello--

And, by evening, I was exhausted-- Son#2, the Air Canada Pilot told me that he enjoyed visiting  all the airports and brought you all back to your home safely--So---another year older--and hopefully , we are all wiser! ----He texted this morning, to say he was away to Cancun this morning--back this evening! -

Thank-yu all, for making a 79 year old Lady feel special--- That's because you all are pretty awesome! Lord love a Duck!--- with a little imagination, we can do anything!--

It's my Birthday-a Virtual Party is happening!

 

"It's my birthday and I'll cry if I want to--"----That''s a song isn't it?--  So, -most of you are here-- but, the 'plane is  coming and going--landing on the icey driveway--  and the music is playing-- and  I see Margene from St Louis, dancing--  Oh, Jacqpra just got off the plane --flew in from Boise, Idaho--and--Gloria is  greeting everyone and holding Lopez --

Son #2 says he just got in, from Portland, Maine, with Aid2--- and is heading out to pick up ACIM--Peggy in Minneapolis--and Darlenek2 in Alabama-- I see Barb Whitehead in the kitchen--  and BJaeger307 and Phoenix1949 and ACIMPeggy from Minneapolis . OMG----and here is Phoenix1949 from Texas!--oh --there is CJ from here in Elliot, and RaeRaeLee66 from California. 

The Queen cannot make it but so far, they have not said why--perthaps needs to rest! --Oh, There is Trailblazer66 ----  But the party has just begun, so, where ever yu are, just keep looking up---and soon yu will see Son#2, in his huge Dreamliner---Hop onboard---We will be here till night for sure-- swimming, eating whatever yu want, and the best part, chatting up a storm--and because it is virtual, yu won't need yer mask-- Even Himself is dancing up a storm!
