  4. I did the same thing at the grocery store on Wednesday, as I wanted a few last-minute items. Even though the parking lot was packed, I still parked, then saw there were only a few shopping carts left (all with child seats), but I still walked into the store to get the lay of the land. Yikes! Every checkstand was working, and some of the checkers were people from the meat and produce departments who never man the checkstands. Lines of people with overflowing carts were waiting for each station, and even the self-check had about 15 people in line. I was so proud of myself when I decided that the few extra items weren't worth the lines and aggravation, and I turned around and drove home. DH was so surprised when I walked in the door much sooner than he anticipated, and empty-handed.

So...will the world end if you don't have bananas? Open a jar of that applesauce you canned and pretend you're camping out for a few days. I always keep bags of frozen berries & peaches in the freezer in case there's nothing fresh on hand. Just a thought.

I hope you and Himself have a wonderful Christmas and that the various families are able to do a drive-by or Facetime to blow you kisses. You are staying safe. Thank you so much for keeping this Spark blog going, as I think it helps so many of us stay connected.

I must have a sinus infection. Oh well, in reality, Christmas Day is just that, a day. I have Christmas in my heart.

  8. Merry Christmas from northeast Montana ! I hope you have a great Christmas.

This is the fist time I've heard Rexall mentioned in years. I figured they were a footnote to history. There was one in the town I grew up in and it was a drugstore with a soda fountain. They must have evolved (along with many other chains) a lot since then.

I will not be seeing my two brothers as they both have heart conditions but I shall be talking to them over the phone. Better be safe than sorry!

I shall celebrate with my daughter and family and be only 5. That will be tonight! Tomorrow, my two grand-daughters and I are on our own as my daughter and her partner are going to his mom to have supper with her. It should be nice.

    Again Merry Christmas!

  15. I am here in South Western Ontario. Just came from the grocery store
where I picked up a very large grocery order curbside. It is so easy. Just sit here on my computer and put in my order one article at a time, tell them when I would like to pick it up and then at the appropriate time drive to the store, park in the one of the designated spots and call to let them know I am there. They bring it out put it in my car and I am ready to come back home. No fuss, no muss and no bother. I feel so much safer and I love the fresh selections they choose for me. Have a wonderful Christmas there with Fred and the furries. DH & I will be alone as well.

I went to the store yesterday and it was crowded but I went in anyway and rush through so I could go home. Unfortunately, when I got home I realized I forgot the vegetable broth. So I was going to go out first thing this morning but changed my mind when I realized how hard it was raining. So the soup will wait until I can get safely to the store.

It looks like the snow will hold off tonight so I can go to the birthday party. Now I have to wait and see about tomorrow!!!

I hope everyone has a blessed and peaceful Christmas

  27. Happy Christmas Eve to you, Fred, Beau, Sushi, and clueless Mr. Lopez. :D

I'll be home tomorrow along with both of my grown children (daughter and son in love) My daughter will be sleeping as she works the graveyard shift and is not off for Christmas. My son in law works for Costco, so you know this past week has been exhausting for him. We had our Christmas celebration on Monday as it was my daughter's day off. So tomorrow I'll get up early early early and sneak their stockings out into the living room. Then I'll put our favorite breakfast casserole into bake and bake some peppermint cookies. The rest of the day I'll quietly relax and enjoy the day. And of course, check in to see what's what with you all.

I live in Hesperia, California. It's a desert valley town in the midst of a mountain range. Our daytime temperatures are running in the 40's just now with rain and a nippy wind coming off the snow on the mountains.

I've not been to the grocery store since last Thursday. I bought all of my non-perishable Christmas fixings two weeks or so ago, and bought the fresh stuff last Thursday. Even though I'm down to my last piece of fresh fruit, I'll not go to the grocery until Monday morning. Tuesday I'll go and do a curbside pick-up at WalMart; I get most of my cleaning supplies, paper goods and a few groceries there.

  28. Merry Christmas from Michigan. I attended Christmas Eve Service tonight, wearing masks as usual. It will be just my husband and I tomorrow. Hubby has health issues and daughter and her husband not fully vaccinated. We laid down the law...no vaccine, no visits. I hated doing this but I don't want either of us to get sick. I hope you have a good day today (I see it is after midnight).

We went north for Christmas, visiting w/our daughter in Illinois. We came home on Sunday the 26th, which she wanted us to stay but we needed to come home to rest. David of course was not feeling his best & had to go see my daughters personal dr. Better now, but the trip home was terrible...got caught in a huge traffic jam...took much longer.
