It's Christmas Day ---and we are all alive!

I saw him--  I saw Santa  in his sleigh last night--over Australia--en route to all our homes-- The best gift to all of us got is the gift of life!--  As I opened my eyes this morning, I said a wee prayer to the good Lord for keeping me alive--not sick! And we survived Christmas Eve, alone, at home---Well, we were not alone, because we are all in this together----

----So, I am here , so is Himself ----and if any of you are in your homes, alone--well, you really are not alone--because we are all here----and please write and let me know how yu are this Christmas Day----- ----hopefully I can play some Christmas carols-----The front door is open--watch out for the ice--more freezing rain last night--

Remember--the best gift to us all is the gift of life!  Lord love a Duck! We made it!

Well, it is 11-30am and I am checking king n just to see who is on here---  You areal welcome!
Lynda

  1. Merry Christmas! I lost my husband 8 years ago, and ever since then, and I think, even before, I've always wrapped presents that I want for myself but don't ask for, so I had 5 small packages for myself that I wrapped up and opened. I always say they're from Santa. I didn't get my dog anything for Christmas this year, so his Christmas was the empty boxes and wrapping paper, he had a ball tearing them all up!

  2. I am home with my husband but expecting my son and daughter-in-law shortly. It's a quiet Christmas for us all this year. One grandson was exposed to Covid a few days ago so his family is quarantined. But I am grateful for the season and happy to enjoy some quiet time before we venture out in the cold! Merry Christmas!

  3. Merry Christmas! ❤️ to you, Himself, Beau, Sushi, and Lopez! That’s a houseful for us!
Quiet day here. OKM generously shared her Christmas goodies - homemade oatmeal scotchie cookies and baked olive cheese balls 😋 (masked exchanges). Glad you’re staying safe and warm. We are all in this together! ❤️ (hugs)

  6. Just us and the cats. Having shrimp and grits with gumbo, 😋😋. The cats weren’t impressed with either, but they sure like gift wrappings. Sunny 77 degrees here in Florida. Merry Christmas!

  10. Merry Christmas to you, Himself, Beau, Sushi and Mr. Lopez! I hope you're enjoying your Christmas day.

I set the alarm for 6am this morning, but my eyes popped open at 5am. I said my morning prayers, then got up. I sent out text messages to a few friends wishing them Merry Christmas, then made a breakfast casserole for the kids (both 37) and I to enjoy. Next I mixed up a small batch of easy peppermint cookies (you know, that cakemix recipe). I had woken up at some point in the night and creeped out and put their stockings where I knew they'd find them with some candies and a small gift in each.

My daughter got home from work just about the time the egg casserole came out of the oven and I was setting up the second cookie tin for the oven, so we got in a little chat before she went in and changed.

She came out to have some breakfast and we visited at the table for a bit. Then my son in love woke up and came out along with the dogs. We visited and they emptied their stockings. Then off to bed went all four of them and I hopped in the shower. I'm sure Daniel will be out a bit later as he works at 4am tomorrow morning, so will not want to sleep all day and stay up late tonight...

I opened the gift from my dad's second wife which I saved for today. The kids and I celebrated and had our gifts and Christmas supper on Monday, but I saved this one gift for today, as I knew Judy was saving mine to open today.

I'll perhaps watch a Christmas movie or read one of my new cozy novels. I'll check in again a bit later to see how everyone's doing.

I'm not sure how to post pictures in comments, so I'll post them on my own blog along with this text. :D

    Merry Christmas to you all!

  11. I'm here, Lynda. I'm not alone because I have my purry, precious, pussycat (and sometimes pesty), Lucky with me.

Last evening Santa knocked on my door to ask if I should be on his "naughty" or "nice" list. It was on of our senior gentlemen in a Santa suit!

This morning, when I opened the door to my apartment, I found a little gift bag with some Lifebuoy Handwash and a beautiful crocheted dishcloth and dish towel with a matching crocheted top. That, I am sure, is for our resident manager.

I have not heard from any of my four children (I was messaging with my daughter yesterday, though). I did hear from one of my half brothers in Michigan.

I am just doing laundry and chillin'. I have a great meal for supper, though...leftovers from our lunch out yesterday.

    Glad you and yours are well. You are correct...the best gift is the gift of life! {{{HUGS}}}

  12. Merry Christmas Lynda Just my DH and myself here todaywith the kitties. We all enjoyed Santas gifts this morning. Kitties especially loved their new toys. I have a big roasting chicken with stuffing in the oven. Turnip and potatoes are ready to cook. Fresh cranberry sauce in the fridge as well as salad waiting for the dressing. Nice fresh dinner rolls will be warmed and gravy prepared at appropriate time and dessert is home made Christmas cake. Decided since we have been blessed with sharing this special day with each other we were worth the effort of making a nice dinner. Again stay safe and enjoy the day. Hugs, Willow

  13. Merry Christmas! It's the four of us celebrating this year, along with my 93 year old father-in-law who is joining us for a meal this evening. I went for a walk in the woods and along the edge of the golf course nearby. The sun is shining, although there was a lot of ice on the roads from yesterday's warm temperatures. Texts from friends and family have been heart-warming today.

  15. Beautiful picture of you! Merry Christmas!
We are home with a tri-tip in the oven. There will be 8 of us. Not the usual crowd. We are celebrating again with the other half in a few weeks. Might get a nap in!
Have a wonderful day! I hear the piano! Glad that we are all together! Hugs!

  16. Merry Christmas Lynda, Fred, Beau, Sushi, little Lopez, and everyone on here.

I did get to Church last night, the birthday party, and breakfast this morning. All of them were a lot of fun. This means that no we did not get any snow which I am very grateful that we didn't. Of course it is still in the forecast for the next week or so...

I am very grateful that I am home alone this afternoon and evening. I am really thinking about taking a nap. I am exhausted. Too old for all that movement and noise when you are around a lot of people but it was fun and I did enjoy myself. Oh and there was GREAT FOOD!!! I am stuff and I might not eat for the rest of the day!!!

    Have a peaceful Christmas

  17. Merry Christmas to you, himself and the fur babies. It was just my husband and two yorkie babies. It rained here all day in Ohio. Your daughter probably told you. My husband watched football and worked a puzzle. Then talked on the phone with his family. I read and texted and talked on the phone with friends and family. Thank you so much for writing and keeping our spirits bright. I hope you and everyone here on your blog had a blessed day!:)

  21. We made it as well. I'm typing this at the end of my Boxing Day here in Australia. We had wonderful weather all weekend. I'm not sure if tomorrow is a holiday or not - but usually here we have a lot of businesses that close at Christmas time and reopen in mid-January and I'm following that this year with my own small business. I have plans, but I'm still in 'holiday mode' and feeling rested. I had a lovely Christmas eve with one of my adopted families - then Christmas lunch with some of them again, then a little supper with another adopted family before settling in and watching a movie with my unofficially 'adopted' son. Shaun is pretty much the guy who looks out for me and is my emergency contact and I'm his. We both like tech stuff so have a lot in common. At one family thing, I had my sister on Facetime and passed the phone around so she could meet some of the great people in my life that I'd be lost without. It's the most socialising any of us have done in the last year and was such a blessing just to spend time together. ❤️ I hope your Christmas was as lovely. It was nice today to be back to being alone with my cats and having a very relaxed day.

  22. I had no internet access at the daughters, no phone either unless I went outside to text or call...was different for sure, to not be online for Christmas.........
So today is the 27th and I am playing catch up. No gifts this year, but we got to meet the twin great-granddaughters, and the other grandsons' son, so it was wonderful.
