May you never be too grown up to search for Santa!

Well, ya jess never know eh?--- When I was a kid, visiting my Grampa in Port Perry , Ontario, Grampa looked up , at the kitchen table, and said, "Look, there is Santa in his sleigh right now--Look up!"--and at 4 years old , I saw the jolly old guy--Santa was there, because Grampa said so! ---
Anyway, Himself and I will be celebrating Christmas, here, in our home , this year-- Hopefully the kids will drop out--And I will spend it with all of you--so----please feel free to drop in --send a message--and we can ALL be together!
This little fellow--Lopez, got a new bed yesterday--  bigger--and he couldn't go out this morning  as soon as he woke up, because it was minus 17.1 C--  It is minus 15C C  now--so he put his coat on (Well we put it on him)- and he did his business outside--No-undescended testicle yet---
I had Himself check--because, I suppose if it doesn't appear soon, the vet wants to do surgery on him--said in 2 mos-- Imagine the poor wee guy going under the knife --He is so tiny--going on 8 pounds I think!

I'm thinking that we will all be safe  over Xmas-- safe from the virus--I hope!-- and I will play the piano for yu all Christmas day-- maybe some of you can dance--and for sure we will sing --as it's all virtual--We should be just "Hunky Dory" as Grampa used to say--  Lord love a Duck!--  WE have so many memories---WE can chat about all of them-- Remember your Mom and Dad telling you that if you weren't good , you would either get a rotten potato  or a chunk of coal?--Lord love a Duck! --I could never tell my children that!

  1. Best Christmas present ever, a new bigger bed for Lopez. Sounds like he has been a good boy so he deserves it. You are doing the right thing if you stay at home over the holidays. The Omicron virus is just rampant out there and I know you would be so sorry if you brought it in to Fred. We will be alone too so I'll be singing along with your piano. I especially like the old ones like I used to sing when I was in the children's choir at church.

  2. Yes, we are keeping pretty close to home and having only one couple over on Christmas eve, everyone has had their shots. The day will be just the two of us too.

  6. Smart idea to stay home and safe but it just isn't as much fun.

  7. I would love listening to you playing the piano. My mom was a wonderful piano player and we used to lie in bed listening to her. That was her relaxation time, after my sister and I went to bed. Oh the things you don't realize you miss! I'm sorry you two will be alone on Christmas but this year it's best to be safe. My daughter (who's not vaccinated)will be staying home this year. She got a note from my grandson's school that he has been exposed to Covid and must quarantine for 14 days. I will miss them but I was worried about being around them!

  9. Dealing with Covid has made the following more difficult, but not impossible!

    To Smile.”

  11. Thanks for the hug, Lynda! I really miss hugs.

We will get through Christmas without our kids. We are thinking, praying and loving them and I am sure they are doing that for us, too.

I just wish I could hear a favorite carol from when I was small...listen to Christmas radio and never hear it. It's "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day." Maybe you know it and I can hear you sing and play it! {{{HUGS)))

    1. I was getting ready to send you a message to tell you it is on Bing Crosby's The Voice of Christmas CD that I listen to each year. But you found it.

      Merry Christmas

  15. When I was around 7 or 8 I heard the reindeer on our roof. We always went to Christmas Mass first and then we would come home to presents. My brother, mother, and I were waiting for dad to tell us it was okay to come out that Santa was not around. As we were waiting is when we heard the reindeer on the roof. Mother, my brother and I looked up to the ceiling. Looking at my mother's face she had no idea what it was. And since my dad only had one arm he was not up on a ladder doing it. We have no idea what it was. But let me tell you there were two VERY EXCITED kids and two very CONFUSED parents. When we got to the car we ALL looked to see if we could see Santa. I have thought about that memory a lot through the years. What is weird is that there were no trees around the house so it wasn't anything falling off the trees.

So Santa came and visited us.

I am suppose to be going to a birthday party tomorrow night. Which I should be able to get to it without too much trouble. Christmas Day might be a problem. There is snow in the forecast and I do not walk or drive on snow (mainly because there is always ice underneath). Now if the snow holds off or just doesn't come I will go to my friend's house for breakfast and our stockings. Then I will come home and relax by myself for the rest of the day which might mean NAP!!!

I can hardly wait to hear you play tomorrow Lynda!!

I hope everyone has a blessed and joyous Christmas.

  16. Lopez is getting big! He's bigger than some cats, now, if he's nearly 8 pounds. Doubt he'll get too much bigger, though. He's still a chihuahua!

I'll be dropping by for the piano music and the caroling. What we may lack in musicality we shall make up for with joy and friendship! Merry Christmas to all!

  18. If some of the kids do a drive-by that would be lovely. But, hopefully you and Fred will do something cozy and specical even if not. I've spent more than one holiday totally alone, and I learned to plan something ahead of time to make the day good for myself and it kept me from dwelling on what could not be.

My daughter is working Christmas night, so will be sleeping all day; she works from 10:30pm until 6:30am. So, son-in-law and I will be here hanging out. But. I will sneak out at some point Christmas Eve or early Christmas morning to place their stockings with a little gift on the table. (We had our Christmas supper and opened gifts Monday.) I plan to have a cozy day of it reading or watching a Christmas movie or two and will make a special treat, probably peppermint cookies, tomorrow so Barbara will have special treats in her lunch both nights and we'll have them to nosh on Christmas day.

Little Lopez is such a cutie!

    Happy Thursday!
