Good thing there is always another day--- because----- It is a good day! --Himself is his good happy old self-- Lopez and Beau have been out, fed and are happy-- We are waiting for a snow storm to arrive--at noon they say--- my phone overnight did an enormous download and I had to call son #2 the Pilot to help me erase stuff I don't use--and------ I have to tell you something that happened yesterday.
While Beau was at the groomer (They talked us into leaving Lopez too to keep Beau company)-- I popped into Canadian Tire--- I know the girl on the cash and really like her, but---she looked at me , and said, "My gosh Lynda, you look like you have aged 50 yrs-"---- I was shocked-- I replied, "Well. I have lost 37 pounds"------ and I added, "My clothes are all too big on me"----- My coat is really huge on me---
Now doesn't that just rot yer socks?---(Mom used say that!)----I think too, I am waiting for my glasses to come back with the new lenses and maybe my face looks squinty without them---
Oh MY GOODNESS do you look FANTASTIC!! Your posts often come in late at night so I don't get the chance to reply often, but just wanted to tell you how wonderful you look compared to your 'old' photo that you've posted many times over the years. The new photo - WOW! AND your blood pressure is lower! Go YOU! That checkout girl might have seen you squinting wearing too big clothes and a too big coat, but I see a lovely looking lady in that 2nd photo!

DeleteMaybe the cashier needs the new glasses you are waiting for because you look great and in fact younger than some of the pictures you have shared. When we are wearing masks and only showing the upper part of our face and heavy winter clothes it isn't easy to see what a person looks like. Forget her silly statement and feel good about yourself. Enjoy your day!

Oh, wow, that was incredibly rude of that person to say that! Maybe next time you see her, you can tell her about your improved blood pressure, but ignoring her and getting in a different lane at the checkout might work better for you. I agree with the other posters that you look very healthy and pretty! You be proud, girl! You've done an AMAZING job with your weight loss, and it's such a great accomplishment to get your BP down! Do you know anyone that can help you to take up some of your clothes, so that they fit you better? It might help you be warmer this winter.

ReplyDeleteWell, that's a comment every woman wants to hear...yikes! And I probably would have replied by saying that, too. Do you give her a pass and hope she was having a bad day and you popped into it at the wrong time? You are looking so good, so vibrant, with the glowing skin that comes from healthy food choices (especially not so much sugar). That kind of tactless remark tends to stay with you, so please try to let it go. I think those of us of a certain age have heard that there comes a time when your choice is "face or fanny," and I am willing to wear the weight loss on my face in exchange for less pain and more energy.

I was told when I first lost weight that I aged, too. I believe it is that the fat that filled out our cheeks, etc. is gone with the weight loss. Hope you don't let it stress you out. Age is just a number, after all. {{{HUGS}}}

ReplyDeleteI'm sure people who haven't seen me in awhile would say the same thing. I have lost so much weight including the cancer and bad gallbladder. The blood pressure continues to lower and I've gone off the statin, blood thinner and blood pressure meds I was placed on after the stroke. They were making me so weak and confused. Had never been on any of those things before! My eyes are squinty, too, since I've not been able to get to an eye doctor in awhile due to covid and transportation issues. Probably need cataract surgery which hopefully I'll get in 2022. I lost so much weight my face got thinner and for awhile glasses were too loose! Let's keep hanging in there together. We are actually morphing into a wiser younger version of ourself.

ReplyDeleteWhat she said really bothered me but I kept thinking you know her and like her maybe it just came out wrong. I unfortunately get so excited at times and my words come out REALLY wrong. You look great much better than me and I'm a few years younger I think! I think she needs new glasses. And having your blood pressure down is more important than anything. Keeps you from having a strike. Glad Fred is back to himself. And that Beau and Lopez had a good day. Hate that the snow is started to settle in more. Tonight we may get freezing rain with a large temp drop. It snowed a bit this afternoon. Hope your son isn't flying tonight!
