Looking for that rascally rabbit!

Easter weekend--Good Friday to-morrow---Easter weekend brings back so many memories--  Happy thoughts-- making Easter bonnets at school--which were paper plates, all decorated with ribbons and flowers----also memories of going to a "Hat Store",   (There are no "Hat Stores" anymore)--and Mom allowing us to each pick out a hat to wear for Easter Sunday--

I can almost feel the cold, sitting on the Church  bench, Easter Sunday, with our bare legs--all dressed up with a new short dress, coat and white gloves. It seems like it was always cold Easter weekend- To-day we have a wet day again---

Its is a treat to-day to be home. Yesterday I  was getting the summer tires back on-- No-one in the dealership wore a mask--just me!--I found that odd-- Himself was not good when I returned home--His Dementia (or whatever it is)- is very difficult to deal with some days--I went for a long walk and that seemed to give me more patience--

I must tell you ---The weight is -----Lord love a Duck!--  from 217  a million years ago----to 180.5 --- It is coming down! ---  Whenever I reach into the 170's I will go in for a blood pressure check--- I do not want to go on blood pressure medication, if I can avoid it!

This is my favourite picture ever-- This wonderful Lady and myself, used to work at the hospital gift shop--Good Friday, we dressed up as--rabbits----It really gave people coming into the hospital a huge smile-----  another happy thought!
Happy Easter-Happy Spring----Happy happy Everything-----and look for that Easter Rabbit!

  1. I remember Easter being cold, too. Looks like that ‘tradition’ continues.

Sorry to hear that Himself didn’t have a good . . . and obviously, that means you had a trying day, too. Glad you got out for a walk to recharge.

Good job on the weight release! Quite an accomplishment.

    Blessed Maundy Thursday.

I remember the new Easter hat, dress, and later on gloves. Yes, it was always cold or sure seemed that way.
The dementia situation is challenging. Glad you got out and away for a bit.

  3. It must have been cold for all of us who grew up in the North. We had new hats with elastic under the chin to make them stay on, white gloves and white shoes . . . you could where white shoes before Easter according to my Mother. Got to go my "Sadie" is here for cleaning while Al is at Physical Therapy. Trying to get the floor mopped today.

  4. Why does no one tell you what Himself has yet! Necessary information when extra help is needed at some point. The medical profession does not seem to want people to be comfortable, they like your life to be constantly on hold…than chide you for not getting things going sooner…. Yes, I remember the Easter clothes, going to church suddenly because of this holiday, but not other days. Not a thing anymore. Take care of yourself!

  6. Awesome job on the weight lost.

I can't believe no one has told you what is wrong with himself and how you can help him. That is horrible.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I had forgotten about most of that stuff. The hat, shoes, gloves, and the purse (made me feel so grown up now I hate to carry a purse - might be because there is a lot in my purse now a days!!!)

I hope everyone has a Happy Easter

  7. CONGRATULATIONS on your loss. Soon you will be into the 170s! Good idea to get off BP meds! My doc wants me to continue mine cuz it is also a liver protectant.

We are wearing heavy winter clothes again in MN...and it is snowing!

    Some days spring seems a long time coming. Sigh...{{{HUGS}}}

  10. Doing great with the weight. Congrats. I remember to Easter bonnet. Have hated hats since and only put my hood up when walking the dog in the winter when it's really bad out. Maybe you can get someone to look at himself in the city wear there are more specialists like Sudbury or something. Hope the dogs stay safe when you're out but you do need your walks etc for your sanity!

  12. My Mother made most of my cloths, she was really good at it. There was always something new for Easter, usually because I out grew the previous one.
I hope you have a very Happy Easter and that you get to spend some time with your family.
