Yesterday turned into a weird day---only in the North, in the bush, would this happen! Himself and I had a wee nap after lunch-- We got up after an hour and I noted from the cell phone that the outdoor cameras were off--- then Himself told me that there was no power in the house---- so--the usual--- I called the neighbour and , everyone else on this road had power----- I texted the power company, who looked into the whole weird situation, and they called me from Barrie, Ontario (which is a zillion miles away) and told me that the power would be restored at 4-30pm---that to go outside and look at the garbage pail looking thing on the pole outside along the road, and if there was a stick hanging down from the garbage pail looking thing, it meant that something had blown ---and--sure enough, there was a stick pointing down--
- So it only affected our place and our neighbour next door, who is away----- The 2 guys who repaired it said a squirrel had gotten in and chewed the wires-- Only in the North would this happen---
I need to run away--maybe visit the Queen--- I am awaiting her invite--I just can't understand why this invite is taking so long to come-- ---Lord love a Duck! -----In this weather, a gal has to dream---
Oh, my goodness... those pesky squirrels! We had one do that to a transformer downtown a few years back... took out whole blocks of office buildings, which wrecked havoc on our workday!
ReplyDeleteOMG always something going on up there.
ReplyDeleteI was so hoping your weather would get good and stay that way. HOPE that's happening soon.
Glad you got the power fixed and also glad you got a bit of a nap...cant hurt.
Have a great day.
The Queen is a bit busy but she'll get to you shortly lol
Hugs
The way it's going this year I think winter is sticking around til about June. It will be nice/ok then it gets cold and rainy again. I hope we had our last snow last week. I'm getting my tires changed today so here's hoping. Poor you and Lopez that slushy mess is awful. Squirrels and chipmunks are the worst for that kind of stuff. Hope it's ok now and stays that way.
ReplyDeleteOh my, I’ve paid over a thousand to repair AC and heater lines in the attic due to squirrels! Glad the power company repaired it, goodness. Your weather is rough! Take care.
ReplyDeleteIf it isn't one thing it is another. We didn't get any of the snow here but plenteous rain and wind. Today looks nice but it is chilly and windy.
ReplyDeleteI am working on a plan to refresh our bedroom with new carpets, bedspread and curtains . . . it takes forever to find what I want online.
I feel like running away some days too. At least we have sunshine today, or what is trying to be sunshine. They tell us it will get up to the low 70's on Saturday which is a happy thing - but it will rain! Mother Nature is just not happy! I hope you get your invite to visit the Queen!!!
ReplyDeleteOmygoodness! Squirrels are such a nuisance! They chew into so much. I had to throw away a piece of wicker on my porch a few years ago after they they chewed on it 🥴 They're cute to watch playing but oh so destructive.
ReplyDeleteToday's the Queen's birthday 🎂 Sure wish you could have joined her!
Worked in the flower gardens yesterday, The hyacinths and daffodils are blooming and the tulips are in bud. Looks lovely. Had to take quite a few bulbs out and dispose of them. They were coming up where we want to just have grass now. Today it is raining but will stop nad then start again of Sat. Could be worse. Alberta has had lots of snow coming down all week.
ReplyDeleteQueen Elizabeth celebrated her birthday. Did you receive your invitation?
ReplyDeleteNever a dull moment for you. I do hope you have tranquil moments though. Happy Thursday.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good walk when the slush stops. HRM is now 96.
ReplyDeleteTook her picture with her horse....perhaps you should get into
horses and then call her....
Gotta get nice one of these days. May's on its way. Here in Ohio it typically skips right over nice spring weather and we start getting temps in the 80's. Ha!
ReplyDeletehere where I am at if a bird flies into the transformer just right it will blow the transformer and we are with out power and the pack rats eat the internet and phone lines it is so much fun
ReplyDeleteWe have had a couple transformers blow across the street from us and it sounded like a bomb. Glad they are replaced fairly quickly. The nap certainly sounds good.
