Anyway, we absolutely loved Grampa-- on April Fools Day, he loved to tease us-- telling us to look in the corner in his kitchen as there was a mouse and we would scream and scream--and then we remembered that it was April Fool's Day-- I still do that with my own grown kids--call them and play the "old mouse thing" on them--
How did I ever get off on all this?--LOL--[ It is cold- again this AM-----icey--but--Lopez and I ventured out , to do his business--and, we heard a Chick-a Dee singing away--The birds, they are returning to the north--Now if the weather would only change! --- I must stay healthy--- move--dance--hold my head up--because, I CAN DO THIS!
--and I do get to talk to "YOU!---- Yeah-------
Such wonderful memories of your Grandpa. And Grandma, too. Amazing how our perspective of what a big house is changes as we compare our memories from childhood to those of today as a mature adult.
ReplyDeleteHope it’s a good Friday for you.

ReplyDeleteThat tale of yours grandma and grandpa’s house being so small when you saw it again, yes, it is funny how that is. We had a small town we lived in, after arriving from Germany in 1950. When I visited that town as an adult, the streets were so small, stores minuscule, almost funny. The library was as big as a living room now. Very strange thing our memories do to us. Have a pleasant evening!
ReplyDeleteSixty six years ago on April Fool's Day in 1956 I met my DH It was also Easter Sunday. Got engaged in August and married in November of the same year.
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice that you have that family history. My family didn't talk much about the past. We got bits and pieces from an aunt, but that was before she developed dementia. I got some from my Mom before she passed. Everyone who could have filled in the gaps are gone. Unfortunately by the time I realized this was important to me it was too late. You have been blessed to have received all that information about your family.
ReplyDeleteHoping all is well with you and your family,
Beth Mosko
Lynda,
ReplyDeleteApril 1st is my daughters birthday also...
Hope the ice is melting.
I need to get you into my mornings, too. I will when I catch up from not having wifi.
ReplyDeleteLove your family photos!
I heard a great April Fool's joke on the radio: a girl's dad ate Oreo cookies like they were going out of style. She took some out of the package, removed the white creamy icing and replaced it with mayonnaise!
Can you imagine if you did that to Himself? {{{HUGS}}}
