The Family and the Chihuahua

Here we all are--  I wish it was larger--As yu can see, Gramma and Grampa were put in the middle-We had such a great time--so sad they all left---We sure love our kids--and all the Grandchildren! --Unbeknownst to me, I had Covid---I don't look sick--because I didn't feel ill at all-

To-day is a Holiday here in Canada. We call it Civic Holiday----It means all Gov't offices, banks etc, are closed and they give us another holiday in Canada, in the summer,  tacked onto a weekend.

This is a very short blog--a Holiday blog--LOL---  (as if women really get a holiday!)--  Sadie has been here , dusting  a couple rooms---and you know that Sadie is really me!

Oh, I must tell yu that Lopez growled--then -snapped at me last evening-I was trying to take a chewy stick away from him-He needs to be taken down a peg or two for sure-I need to be  stronger --tougher --with him-Lord love a Duck! --These Chihuahuas   are not nice! -----  You need to STAY STRONG!

  1. What a wonderful gorgeous photo! Thank you. It brightened my day! Chihuahuas are like that. They don't like to share anything food or theirs. They are snappers. LOL Maybe you can train him. Have a lovely first day of the new month of August.

  2. Oh my gosh, Linda, what a beautiful picture. Just tap on it in the blog and it enlarges. Wonderful! BEAUTIFUL family.

LOL! No, may be a civic holiday, but . . . women still have to carry on, right!

Oh my. That was not a good thing for Lopez to do! Did he end up in a time out (in a crate or such?) He really does have to get over that one! Cannot snap @ you. And of course, I know you know that!

Here’s to a good August – amazing isn’t it! Where has the summer gone!!!!

  3. Thank you for sharing that picture. I had fun trying to figure out who everyone was and who belonged to whom. You have nine grandchildren, right? Or is it 11? I couldn't figure out the lady in the long dress in back with the young man. Anyway, great picture. I sure enjoy looking at pictures and seeing and hearing how other people live.

  4. Lynda, I clicked on that family photo and it came up larger! Wonderful photo of a beautiful family.

Lopez needs to be shown, daily, who's boss! It isn't good for any dog to growl & snap at it's owner!! Maybe take it to dog training? I did that with our last Chihuahua and wow, was the trainer every good! He did a lot with Snooks with me there, then had me do it and I was pleasantly surprised that when I used an authority voice, no nonsense, she did as she was told!! I wish you would do that or something similar or you're not going to really enjoy Lopez to the fullest.
Love & lotsa hugs coming to you, Fred and your furry babies. xoxo

  5. And we will stay strong! Love your family photo. We probably all carry germs and viruses we don't realize we have. If our immune systems are strong, we may not feel ill. They may be contagious to others, though.
Today is a special day for me. My birthday...76 now. Friends invited me for a turkey dinner at their home...Jim and Dave. They are great cooks.
It's hard to believe it's August already...maybe just 6 or 8 weeks of summer left.
    Happy Civic Day! {{{HUGS}}}

  6. A fabulous picture and some great memories from the time it was taken . . .those are the things to cherish this winter when it is freezing cold again. Hope lil Lopez got a stern talking to . . . no snapping at the hand that feeds and cares for you . . . no matter what. My newfoundland is just the opposite if you want to take anything from her she thinks you want to share and just gives it to you. She is also very gentle in taking treats . . I almost have to stuff them in her mouth or they fall on the floor.

  7. Such a great family picture! Kids sure have grown since you have been blogging! You mean you have not read any of your chihuahua books yet? That saying NO has to start with any pup. Say it with a stern voice. My goodness! Don’t make it harder for whomever gets him next. Enjoy today’s holiday, nice to have a family time. Are regular stores open?

  8. Beautiful family picture! Unfortunately, daughters husband couldn't come but I think you have all the other spouses and grands. I love the pictures and the great memories from the visit with the kids and grands.
Enjoy your Civic Day. No such holiday in the states.
Oh WOW, Lopez biting at you...yikes. I ⁷know he recently tried to bite a man who was trying to save him in the lake. Lopez is sure going to need a stern voice and perhaps basic obedience classes.
    Enjoy your day!

  9. Great picture of everyone. It's pretty much impossible to take any food from my dog. And she has gone for a few training courses! So I feel for you with Lopez. Since he is still young it's the best time to get him in line. Hopefully he will improve. Have a good day.

  10. Love the photo. What a beautiful family you have. I miss mine when they have to go back to their own lives too. Sorry about Lopez. Sometimes our dogs think they're in charge!
