What's new honeydew?

Good Day-- It is a good day to have a good day---no snow falling---  Beau , the big Shepherd, is now on his Prednisone pills - twice a day---AND--He is eating---and seems almost like his old self--I guess having the 2 extra dogs here all the time, has upset him--I never ever thought it would've--- The 2 extra dogs that belong to son#3, go home on Saturday-- I think----

I have a worker/friend,  here fixing the gate , going out to the road---  filling in the holes where the gate meets the fence--- He is doing a great job and the Chihuahua now cannot get out to the road---He brought us a jar of maple syrup--The syrup is till warm--right from where they were boiling the sap---That will be such a treat!

How is your day going?--  How are you this day?--What's new Honeydew?  What's up buttercup?          Remember  the "sayings" we used to use and then laugh and laugh?

It has been a good day here, so far -  The Piano tuner comes to-morrow AM------ I just love how he can  make the piano sound so beautiful----light --tinkly--like bells---  You know, when I sit down to play the piano, all 4 dogs go to sleep---It is like magic--- Animals really enjoy listening to music. --- I always tell people that I play for the dogs----Perhaps farmers should have a piano in their barn for the cows-I'm sure it would make for happier  milk producing animals--

So. time for lunch--- then a nap--with my Kindle--I need a new book--Any suggestions?-- Every book I pick up to read right now, I cannot get interested in it--

Remember--  Patience is a virtue--- (Mom always did that!)---I believe her verse went---  "Patience is a virtue, -Possess  it if you can, -It's often found in Women, -but never in a man!--(not saying  too much for men there!)-------STRONG---  Women must be strong--After all, we hold up half the sky--

Dr Seuss has the right idea-how to stay strong---to-day--for sure!

  1. Great blog, Lynda. Just saved the Doc's quote to share.
Isn't it great to have friends to help? And family, of course.
Beau is aging. The visitors are harder on you and Himself, who are also aging. You know the stress is also affecting Beau.
I had a wonderful HUGE Yamaha keyboard, but I gave it to my grandson. It was just too big for my space.
Got a newsletter yesterday (I believe from AARP) that suggested some Irish books. I haven't looked them up yet, but the 2 that interested me the most are titled, "Small Things Like These," and (my gel pen smeared), "The Queen of Dirty Sand'. That title doesn't come up, though. Lots of great books are shown if you search, "books by Irish authors."
I woke up so early this morning that I'm almost ready for a nap. Lucky wants to play, though.
Sadie may do a bit around here later today.
Though I know you love them, I am sure you will be happy for your guests to return home.
    ☘️🍀May your troubles be less
    And your blessings be more.
And nothing but happiness come through your door. ☘️🍀

  3. It's Kathy. I love the Dr. Seuss quote. I used to love reading Dr. Seuss to my children. The rhyming so clever! I'm glad big Beau is feeling better. My Daisy didn't eat this morning - not sure what's up with her! Kind of a hectic day for me today - way too much to do and too many problems to handle. One thing at a time, I keep telling myself! I'd like to escape into a book today - maybe tonight! Have a good day and enjoy your quiet time.

  5. Hi Lynda, Dr.Seuss has it right. Thanks for your blog and great inserts. You make my day. Admire your strength and love your positivity.
Hoping Beau bounces back when the other dogs leave. Poor Beau has his routine upset, you too.
No more Lopez escape yay. Fresh maple syrup sounds delightful. I'm glad you have friend who can help you as needed.
Please play the piano for the pups. It must sound perfect when the tuner leaves.
We awoke to tornado sirens this morning in St.Louis. Thankfully just bouts of heavy rain and wind. It's been too warm here and tornadoes are the result.
    No hair day today?
Relax this afternoon...a nap, book, music..whatever you choose.
    Hugs and blessings

  6. Hi Lynda: Glad Beau is feeling some better. I guess he'll be glad when company goes home! I remember a lot of those sayings from back in the day! Hope you don't get any more snow this year. Our weather this weekend is supposed to be miserable - rain and perhaps some flurries. But yesterday an absolutely gorgeous day. Hope you find a book you like. Hanve a good night. Hugs Brenda

  7. Oh my! Getting your fence fixed AND fresh maple syrup! YUMMMMM!

LOL! Yes, for sure, music would make the cows happy!

Glad that Beau is feeling a little better and eating. Sounds like he will be even better after the 2 pooches return to their home! Dogs are sensitive to their routine and environment. Change is hard for them, just like for us!

Hope you got to read! Relaxing

  8. Dr. Suess books were some of the favorites of my Kindergarten students. I used read to them every day! And we celebrated Dr. Suess's birthday every year in March! I have a plaque on my wall attributed to Dr. Suess "Don't cry because it's over, Smile because it happened!" Got it after my DH passed. A good reminder to be grateful for what we have or had. And my cats love music! There is a station on YouTube TV that plays relaxing music for cats - called Cats love Music! I put it on the television whenever I have to leave my cats alone for over a couple of hours. I think they have a station for dogs too - maybe it would be soothing to Beau if you have YouTube TV.....I don't have a subscription, it is just free if you have a Smart TV. Crazy weather day here today....lots of thunderstorms, tornado warnings, hail and high winds! My weather station radio has gone off at least 15 times with warnings - and no Jeopardy on TV today because the station is doing extended weather alerts all evening! I love to watch Jeopardy every day!

  10. My book suggestion: "No Two Persons" by Erica Bauermeister. It's a novel about how reading the same book affects different people.
