When you can't find the sunshine, be the sunshine!

Good day to you all---a  short blog here just to inform you that I am still here--   We had a problem with big Beau yesterday--He refused to eat--refused to move really--- I took him to the vet in the afternoon--who did all sorts of blood tests--urine tests-- found nothing--which was a good thing really--put him on Prednisone which he said would increase his appetite-----  Anyway,  a lot of money later, both Beau and I returned home--Our daughter told me to give him an antacid--once a day---  and about an hour after that, at home here, he ate dry kibble from my hand-- and this morning, he ATE HIS REGULAR MEAL-- (well I cut back on the meal--but-he ate it)--- plus I think I will just keep that Prednisone in the cupboard for now---hold it off)---You know, Beau is a big German Shepherd--and almost 10 yrs old-- and I just think he cannot take all the chaos here , with 4 dogs----Son #3 and family, return on the 16th--  (don't think I can take his dogs again)-

So--another hurdle we got through- I thought about you all--all day---but, my attention was focused on BIG BEAU----- I knew you all would understand--

-Beau did not  pass on--- just needs peace and quiet---

How are you all?--- Dark in the early mornings eh?---- but--more daylight in the evenings-- Which do you all prefer?Anyway---  I must keep on here--  no vacuuming got done yesterday---   Himself was "fit to be tied"  yesterday, even  tho I did get him to his Day Program--I am beginning to think he might be happier  sooner than later, living in that Lodge--

Have a good day----a stress-less day---special people that you are---always remember how special you are---Women really do make the world go around--

I'm with Beau about the peace and quiet! Been battling cancer since its diagnosis late April of last year with my 4th surgery on the books for April 17 after multiple tests over next few weeks.

Tough times at your home and I wish you a workable solution -- will not be simple at all but necessity will eventually intervene.

    2. Awwww, well, glad that Beau is eating again. That always worries me if iss Lilly stops eating. She’s not a big eater, but she does enjoy her kibble. That’s a good idea about the antacid. Better than prednisone. And for sure, just like people, as we age, we don't tolerate chaos so much. I bet that was part of Beau's troubles . . . stress. ((HUGS)) Beau.

Yes, dark in the early mornings, but love the evening light. Nice for a walk.

Oh . . . the Lodge . . . does it have full time care?? Oh my . . . that would certainly would be a solution if it comes to that. Himself really does seem to enjoy it and it would be familiar to him.

HUGS and wishing you a terrific Tuesday.

  2. Glad YOU and himself are OK. A day without hearing your positivity and strength, just isn't the same.
Glad Beau is feeling better. Aside from running Beau to the vet you still managed to get himself to Lodge. You are Wonder woman.
    Hope today is wonderful.
    Hugs

  4. I can only imagine what a stressful day you had yesterday with big Beau not acting right! We love our fur babies and it is awful when something is wrong with them! Glad he is better! I'm with Beau - I like my peace and quiet. I am taking care of my friend's cat for the next 8 or more weeks. My girl cat does not like the other cat in our house, but she eventually gets OK with it as I have done this for a couple of years now. But I must admit, I am happy when the other cat goes back home!

  5. Sis, I am sure glad Beau will be all right...I remember Tess, too. Our pets are so important to us and us to them. It may well be the stress bothering him the most...it bothers you and Himself.
My sodium issues are resolved. I am now clear headed, able to drive myself, etc. Still a bit more fatigued, but able to do stuff.
Spring is springing, but I wish it would be warmer when we first wake up. I like the more light coming in the evening.
The 16th seems a long time away, but it's only 4 days. Then Saint Patrick's Day! The day for corned beef and cabbage, reubens, colcannon or shepherd's pie, whiskey or sout. I'm making myself hungry. Maybe I can fine some George Killian's Irish Red beer...my fave. One can get it anytime of the year in Chicago.
Hope your day progresses with few problems to deal with...and a little leisure. {{{HUGS}}} Maggie

  6. It's Kathy. I'm so sorry that big Beau wasn't feeling well yesterday. My Daisy is almost 11 and she isn't real fond of the chaos anymore either. I think, just like us, there comes a time when we just need some peace and quiet! I'm glad he's doing better now. Every now and then we give an antacid to Daisy - some mornings she throws up and won't eat. So that night my husband will give her one of the pills he takes - the Vet said that we could do that. It seems to help. I kind of like having it be lighter longer in the day and I don't mind the darker mornings - especially when I barely get up lately before dawn. But what I don't like is that they keep changing back and forth. So sorry himself had a rough day yesterday. You are amazing dealing with everything every day. I hope you give yourself credit for how much you do every day! Wishing you a better day today! Oh, and yes, Tom is finally feeling better. He's seeing the doctor this afternoon because he thinks it has become a sinus infection. And I have stayed very far away from him! Too much going on for me to be sick!

  7. Yes, we make the world go around or at least try hard. lol Oh goodness, glad Beau is doing better. I was thinking before you said it that maybe it was too much action going on in the house with the other dogs and he is not used to it. I thought about you yesterday and knew you had something going on after not seeing your blog. Glad all is well now. I much prefer lighter in the evenings! I love it this way. It is sunny and 67 in Ohio today. Just beautiful! Hope you had a better day and enjoy your evening!

  8. Hi Lynda: Glad you're back. I was worried. Glad Beau is now feeling a bit better. Hope it stays that way. So the Lodge has full time care and live in availability? Himself seems to enjoy it there. Maybe that is an option to keep in mind. Would it be possible to start part-time to see how he likes it? It's too bad you have to lay down the law to get someone to take himself there when you have other issues to deal with, Glad all worked out. Have a quiet, relaxing night. Hugs Brenda

  9. Can’t believe Beau is almost 10…seems like yesterday he was a puppy!
Good news that the Vet couldn’t find anything wrong with him AND that he started eating again…..As we get older, dogs too, sometimes change and the drama that goes with it is too much! I know you have alot on your plate…. it may be time to increase Himself's Lodge time, if that’s possible. He enjoys it and you can use the time to get things done.
I do not like daylight savings time…leave the clocks alone lol! ❤️ Eissa7

  11. so glad that Big Beau is doing better I am willing to bet that you do take the other dogs again because your heart is so big and you love the dogs almost as much as their humans maybe find a calm place for Beau to just have peace time

  12. Beau is probably upset with the other dogs and the commotion, and I surely hope he will be okay. At 10, he probably is considered a Senior citizen and doesn't like his routine messed with. Keep us posted on how he is doing....
