You CAN brighten the World!

Good Morning--It is overcast---mild tho--and rain is expected--Lopez and I "hoofed" (Dad's expression)- it up the road--AND---  he did his business--AND--there is more news---  Son#2 , the Pilot, is in the Barbados--and it is beautiful--- so nice that he finally got to a warm vacation spot, as he does travel to so many very different places--

Man oh man--- wouldn't you give yer eye teeth to be there---?--Look at the weather  and the sand?---  ZOWY!!!
Yesterday was a difficult day for Himself---I believe he just gets frustrated--He can't hear very well--He is afraid of falling , so does not walk outside,-- He has to listen to me, telling him what to do--- (which is the worst thing for a Chinese elderly person who was in control of everything. and everyone,  all his life, and now must rely on a woman-"-ME"-----
But--I managed to keep my mouth shut and we got thru another day---Lord love a Duck! One needs the patience of Jobe!

Woman power--You know I believe women hold maybe more than half the sky--"S"

So, how is your day going?---

Easter Weekend coming up---   Remember how we used to make Easter bonnets at school with paper plates and ribbon?---Remember the new outfits our Mothers purchased--?---  always a new hat, white socks and patent shoes---  and freezing on Easter Sunday--!!!!

----always remember that people will never forget how you made them feel---reach out , smile--
WE ARE STRONG PEOPLE

  1. Oh, yes, I far prefer the weather where your Son#2 posted the photos. We have spitting snow and cold and wind here! 26F... Brrrrr!

And yes, I do remember making those paper plate Easter Bonnets, and many, many other traditions that I no longer do, since I don't have kids in the house. Times change, eh?

  2. Glad that your weather is milder. We are, too, and with that comes rain. Ah well.

Oh my goodness. Barbados looks gorgeous! It’s calling my name! Maybe son #2 would let us hitch a ride?????

Sorry it was such a difficult day w/Himself. BUT glad you made it through. FOR SURE, if you educate a woman, you educate a nation! TRUTH!

Yes, always had the new dress, new Easter bonnet, new shoes, and it was always cold. Looks like Easter will live up to that this Sunday . . . cold and rainy. Feel sorry for the kiddos who want to show off their Easter finery (if they still do that!)

LOVE the Maya Angelou meme. What a wise, wonderful woman.

  3. Wow! I remember the paper plate hats! And yes, the bonnets and new Easter dress. Wonderful memories.

  4. It's Kathy. Thank you for all your encouragement, I truly appreciate it. Last night I learned that there is another court date set - June 7th. Tom and I were going to visit my daughter in Roanoke over that weekend, now I'm not sure what to do. I want to be there for morale support, but that's about all I can do! Always a complication. I'm so sorry himself had a difficult day. I can only imagine how frustrating it is to have your life change so much. He is lucky to have a wife who understands. And I absolutely LOVE the pictures - so nice to see today when we had rain overnight and now snow with wind. Poor little Daisy is having a hard time, the snow from yesterday is hard so she sinks in it with every step. But she's a trooper! Take care and have a lovely day today! Dream of sand, sun and palm trees!

  5. Lynda, love Maya Angelou!
Strange weather here, how I do wish I was in Barbados! Great photos for sure! Hope your son gets some time to enjoy being there before his next flight.
I do understand your frustration with Himself. It must be hard for him, and for you, too.
Is Lopez still looking for Beau or has he adjusted. Must be needing more attention from you. Does Himself love on the pets at all?
Cold here...barely freezing. Rain and more snow to come. We are all, I'd bet ready for spring!
I remember paper plate hats, coloring Easter eggs, dressing up and going to church. Always a big ham dinner from my grandma. What a cook she was!
Hoping my daughter will invite me...she just lives 45 minutes away. Spoke to her yesterday on the phone, and she didn't mention Easter. If she doesn't invite me, I will be a bit disappointed, but I will survive.
We survive a lot. I will glory in the good food I have, the friends, my precious purrfect kitty (you have one, too), my electronics, etc. Maybe I'll start one of those new books.
Trusting everything goes better for you today. Sounds like it's had a pretty good start.
Sadie doesn't have much to do here, but she is going to make me a new recipe for supper.
Later, sis. Be happy! {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  6. Hi Lynda: Barbados - how nice! Never been but it sure looks real good. I remember those Easter outfits. That's when I started hating hats. Still hate them! Glad you held your tongue with himself yesterday. If he's always been in charge it must be tough for him now. Doesn't make it any easier for you though. It's raining today but supposed to be dry right through easter after today. Have a good day. Hugs Brenda

  7. Hi Lynda, Barbados looks fabulous. Hope you can take time to dream yourself there.
Cold, windy and rainy in St.Louis.
Yes, I remember making hats, new dress and shoes and a hat and being cold on Easter. I love Easter eggs, they taste better. I no longer make them.
Will you be going to a son's? We'll likely be here alone and that's OK. Sunday is son's 56th BD but he just had hand surgery and isn't interested in getting together. We have no grands, aside from a grand dog. Kind of used to spending holidays alone. Is what it is.
    GREAT inserts.
I relate to your frustrations with himself. Difficult for both of you. Good job zipping lip.
Enjoy your day. Continue to be your amazing, loving, caring self.
    Love, hugs and blessings

  8. Hi Lynda! So happy for Matt to be in such a beautiful place and I know he enjoyed the good food, too! It was rainy and very windy in Ohio today. A lot of power outages but all is well here. We didn't lose power. Hope you had a wonderful day and your emotions are calming a bit each day. Sending hugs to you!
