Trying to beat the storm---and--- I am back home where I want to be--

I am out, trying to beat the storm---getting a few groceries--and, " trying to be amazing"-- Hopefully to-day, you will be amazing also-- --  I need bananas and milk---
Our daughter just called from Ohio--said --"the storm" is there now--

I AM BACK HOME---  returned by 10am--  and--I WAS AT THE GROCERY AT 8AM--never in my life have I made it to the store so early!--$241  spent on bananas, etc etc etc---and--the best part--all was well, when I returned home--Lopez had eaten half his breakfast--  (I had given  him his pill that the vet ordered)---no more diarrhea-- Himself was kinda grouchy as he went all over the bill.  He hasn't been in a grocery store in over 3 yrs--He was angry over the price of everything--told me I should never pay what the bill said----so------ I RIPPED UP THE BILL  and forever and always, will remember to do that--(a gal has to do what a gal must do, to keep the peace--)-

I took a few pictures of what this part of the world looks like right now--outside--
and here  is Son#$2, the Pilot--revving up his snowblower at his cottage--
Hopefully your day is going well--Lord love a Duck!--- Is it snowing in your part of the world?--is it a good day for you?----Are you able to make it a good day ?---

Maybe the "OLDER THAN DIRT" quiz will bring back memories of our lives , way back when--Do you remember Drive-In Theatres?--  --going to see a show in the car, with your Mom and Dad, and going in your PJs-----Remember sitting thru the News REELS at the show, before the main movie began?--

  3. Hello amazing lady…I hope the storm is not too bad in your area. We are awaiting torrential rain and possibilities of waterspouts here at the central FL beach. Supposed to move in and out fairly fast. Be safe…❤️. Eissa7

  4. Had to laugh at the older than dirt quiz - I must be old since I knew them all. Good luck with the weather - we are having rain in the midwest and in the mid 40s so I'm not complaining. Have a nice day and stay warm. D

    1. I pretty much knew them all too----guess it shows our age-- Fun to remember all that tho--I remember being told that one day, everyone would have their own phone--and I would think--NO WAY_---and now we do---Lynda

  5. You are strong! Hope your son helps you, too, with the snow. He is younger, after all.
Could you show Himself ads in the paper (or mail flyers) showing the prices of things? He might be more willing to accept what you pay.
Think I've seen the 'older than dirt,' but I'm not sure. I will post it again.
We are due for snow and almost below 0 temperatures in a couple days. Every morning I have been waking to just 1/2 inch or so on the cars.
I would not like having to unload and put away that big grocery order. Does Himself help?
Glad Lopez is better. It's hard when pets are ill. They can't tell us what hurts except by their actions.
Gotta get back with Sadie. She or her twin are here today.
    Love ya, sis. {{{HUGS}}}

  7. For sure, rip the bills up. He’s probably not going to understand, and especially if he hasn’t been in a grocery store since before the Pandemic, no way would it be understandable how things have changed.

We’re getting the storm right now. Started last night. Wet, heavy snow. NO fun. Just be careful out there!

Oh my, I remember every one of those things on the Older Than Dirt quiz. Fond memories!

So glad that little Lopez is feeling better!

    Stay warm, stay safe!

  8. It's Kathy. I loved going to Drive In Movies. We would even go during the winter - keep the car running with the heat on, it was so much fun! Yes, grocery shopping has gotten impossibly expensive but what can we do. We need to eat! And we need to eat healthy foods! We spent over $400 the last time we went to Costco just stocking up on some things we needed, plus meat! Sounds like tearing up the receipt is the way to go for you! I hope you don't get too much snow. We finally have winter - it will be below 0 degrees this weekend. I'm NOT a fan! Have a wonderful rest of your day!

    1. Kathy-I just put an order in to Costco--It came to over $500--We do not have a Costco store here in town so I placed the order online and they delivered right to our driveway--for free----- Amazing ! -Groceries this AM was $241.--not much meat in there either--and-I agree--I am no fan of winter!!-== Nice always to hear from you--Lynda

  9. Marti here - I got 14. But I'm only 65.

We were supposed to get snow showers, but here in Central Ohio it's been raining all day and is 50 degrees fahrenheit. I don't know how to do the math to make it celcius, LOL. I can barely do ANY math, ha.

  10. Hi Lynda! Yes, we got a covering of snow here in Ohio last night. Rain and wind today. High winds tomorrow. The same tonight and tomorrow and then this weekend. We don't have much choice with the grocery prices. I do hope they go down but not sure when. The food for our yorkies has really been going up. They even said at the pet store the other day that it keeps going up. I have to feed them special food because of their allergies so I told the girl that I learned years ago it is cheaper than vet bills. I have been to drive-in movies back in the day. I also remember several things on the older than dirt list. I feel old even being in late 50's. lol I hope you had a nice day and don't get too much snow! Enjoy your evening!

  11. Hi Lynda: OMG - I'm older than dirt! Glad Lopez is feeling better and that you both sleep. Don't let himself see the grocery bills. It's bad enough when you understand what's been going on with the prices. And son#2 went to his cottage in this weather? Must love winter! Remember you are strong and amazing! Have a good night.
