You're hot stuff!

AND---  I was thinking about you all, as the power flickered on and off--I finally had to turn off the computer as  the power was just not staying on--  Branches of trees must touch the wires, in the  strong wind----I finally just turned off the TV and this computer--AND-I went out to shovel--  Son #1 was here to clear the drive way, in his huge heated, plough--I had to go outside,  thru the garage--and shovelled sidewalks-

---  I cleared in front of the garage and both doors as the snow covered both --  I could not open any door-- It felt like I was living in "Little House on the Prairie"--Remember how in those books, the snow covered their doors--?---It is still snowing, but the wind seems to have subsided.

How was the storm, in your area?--Did you get much snow?--Did you lose power?-  We seemed to  get hit quite hard up here in the North--probably because we are just north of Lake Huron--, which is still probably open water, as  we had September , October, and, December,  quite mild--milder than usual--

Anyway, we do handle it---because we have to-- but----  I sure want to know if this area is unique-- with "THE STORM"--- We had about a foot and a half of snow--and more is coming down as we chat here--

The 2 boys--as in dogs---  have both been out-- (after I shovelled the walkway) and the drive was cleared by Son#1-- (Praise the good Lord!)-----  They both did their business-(-There is a God up in Heaven!)------ and--just a reminder------ In spite of what we HAVE to do in this life,  remember to take time to be silly--laugh---- dance like a crazy fool to the music--and-------never, ever, ever, stop enjoying a few laughs and jumping off a dock---- or running like a crazy fool--

I hope where ever you are, you make to-day the best day ever! --Always remember---No matter our age--- that----

  1. Nine inches of snow, wind chill warnings through Tuesday night. What I clear drifts back in over the next few hours, so I'm holding my impulses in and hunkering down.

  2. Good morning, Lynda! You have been out and at it already! Oh, don’t do too much! Thank goodness for your son coming to help. We are in a severe weather warning here in Ohio. Not much snow but high winds until 7 pm. Lopez looks so small beside of Beau. Such a cute pic! Kloi is 8 today! Tommy is 8 months old. Gosh, can’t believe we started over after losing one last January. On the 16th. I will be so sad that day! Stay safe and warm! Enjoy your day with a nap and your book. Hugs!

No snow in St.Louis just sub zero Temps and crazy winds through Tuesday.
Be safe when you must go out with the pups. Glad your power is back. Thanks for today's positive thoughts and for letting us know you're OK up there. Do you think about moving way south about this time of year?
      Be well, safe and warm.

  3. It's Kathy. I had a lovely lunch with my daughter. After we visited her friend who's selling a million dollar house. It was beautiful inside and had lots of wonderful features but certainly not for me! We didn't get any snow but it's below 0 outside now. I'm not going anywhere for awhile. Apparently the snow stayed a bit south of us. I was happy to not have snow - my son and daughter were going to the Basketball game and he has to drive home (Bemidji, MN) today. You are very brave to go out and shovel but I understand it has to be done so the dogs can get out. They both look so cute laying there together! Have a good day and stay warm!

  5. Glad you had help from your son today, and are in one piece after shoveling. We expect dangerous weather in this part of Texas, wind chill that can kill. They are trying to get homeless into shelters. Glad one son lives with me, we suddenly have a water leak, under the cement foundation of the house, which will cost a bundle to fix, plus can’t be fixed until next week. That’s how they build houses here, wonder if the builders have a sneaky contract with plumbers, so plumbers make extra money when pipes leak in the cement foundation? Would not surprise me at all in this state! You take care.

  6. The wind is gusting big time here. Didn't get a lot of snow...yet. But the temp is only 2F. Very cold.
Had to have a new thermostat installed in my apt yesterday. It is turned on. I set it at 72 and would turn it down before I went to bed. It NEVER turned on! This morning I called our manager again cuz it said it was 63 in here. She said they would be out again 'sometime today.' I am wearing a tee shirt with a sweatshirt over it, heavy sweat pants and a winter hat. I am still cold. Hands on this keyboard especially.
I'm going to have hot soup for lunch to see if that would help. My fave lately has been those cheap little pks of creamy chicken ramen noodles. When they are half done I add a big handful of mixed veggies. So good!
Hope this storm dies down for all of us. Lots of my FB friends are experiencing the same kind of weather. I guess it's paying us back for our extended gentle fall. You are blessed to have your son to help.
    We are strong. We will survive to enjoy the spring again. (God willing and the creed don't rise...another old saying) {{{HUGS}}}

  7. Sounds like you had the same storm experience as we did. Lots of snow, wind, and blocked doors, but our garage door was fine so got out that way to clear the other doors. Sheesh.

Got about 1 ft. with this storm punch. UGH. Now the arctic blast to make sure everything stays in place. Boooo.

Awww, the boys look warm and comfy. Good boys!

    Take good care!

  8. Hi Lynda :
wow you have a lot of snow. We didn't get much maybe 5 cm but it is cold and windy. It's icy where people haven't cleared their walk, so I didn't walk my dog very far cuz I couldn't. It's cold here so I can imagine how cold it is up there. Poor you and shoveling snow in that. Be careful. The boys looked so cute. Hope the power stays on now at least most of the time. It's too cold to be without heat. Stay safe and warm. Hugs Brenda
