--- I cleared in front of the garage and both doors as the snow covered both -- I could not open any door-- It felt like I was living in "Little House on the Prairie"--Remember how in those books, the snow covered their doors--?---It is still snowing, but the wind seems to have subsided.
How was the storm, in your area?--Did you get much snow?--Did you lose power?- We seemed to get hit quite hard up here in the North--probably because we are just north of Lake Huron--, which is still probably open water, as we had September , October, and, December, quite mild--milder than usual--
Anyway, we do handle it---because we have to-- but---- I sure want to know if this area is unique-- with "THE STORM"--- We had about a foot and a half of snow--and more is coming down as we chat here--The 2 boys--as in dogs--- have both been out-- (after I shovelled the walkway) and the drive was cleared by Son#1-- (Praise the good Lord!)----- They both did their business-(-There is a God up in Heaven!)------ and--just a reminder------ In spite of what we HAVE to do in this life, remember to take time to be silly--laugh---- dance like a crazy fool to the music--and-------never, ever, ever, stop enjoying a few laughs and jumping off a dock---- or running like a crazy fool--
Nine inches of snow, wind chill warnings through Tuesday night. What I clear drifts back in over the next few hours, so I'm holding my impulses in and hunkering down.
ReplyDeletecold winds here also-- you do have a lot of snow -Your house looks like it belongs here--in the North--Lynda
DeleteGood morning, Lynda! You have been out and at it already! Oh, don’t do too much! Thank goodness for your son coming to help. We are in a severe weather warning here in Ohio. Not much snow but high winds until 7 pm. Lopez looks so small beside of Beau. Such a cute pic! Kloi is 8 today! Tommy is 8 months old. Gosh, can’t believe we started over after losing one last January. On the 16th. I will be so sad that day! Stay safe and warm! Enjoy your day with a nap and your book. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThat darn snow up there. So glad son did driveway. You did a lot as well.
DeleteNo snow in St.Louis just sub zero Temps and crazy winds through Tuesday.
Be safe when you must go out with the pups. Glad your power is back. Thanks for today's positive thoughts and for letting us know you're OK up there. Do you think about moving way south about this time of year?
Be well, safe and warm.
Play your piano and sing.
Hugs
Yes --=I would love to move way south----I am not a lover of snow--- and high winds with power outages--=You are so good to write-I appreciate hearing from yu--- AND---- We did not lose power to-day--a good thing-- Lynda
DeleteIt is the hardest thing ever, to lose a faithful friend, as your dog--You are like we used to be-always had 2 Shepherds----=This is our first Chihuahua-===- so nice to hear from yu in OHIO--Our daughter livers in Medina, Ohio-Lynda
DeleteI hope yu get this--My reply is flying down to Kathy--was supposed to be for yu---LOLOL-- I wanted to tell yu that yu ae so good to get another pup-- Lynda
DeleteI got your nice messages. Thank you!
DeleteIt's Kathy. I had a lovely lunch with my daughter. After we visited her friend who's selling a million dollar house. It was beautiful inside and had lots of wonderful features but certainly not for me! We didn't get any snow but it's below 0 outside now. I'm not going anywhere for awhile. Apparently the snow stayed a bit south of us. I was happy to not have snow - my son and daughter were going to the Basketball game and he has to drive home (Bemidji, MN) today. You are very brave to go out and shovel but I understand it has to be done so the dogs can get out. They both look so cute laying there together! Have a good day and stay warm!
ReplyDelete----Oh Kathy---Yu are so fortunate---no snow--No you do not want a large home-- trust me--LOL-- The 2 boys (as in dogs) are good boys-- They are my salvation, as living with my husband is a challenge- It sounds like you had a good day- Lynda
DeleteWhat is that saying - the Lord doesn't give you more than you can handle, I just wish he did think so much of me! ? I'm sore from shoveling but there is more to do.
ReplyDeleteThe boys are so adorable! Good boys! ❤️ Stay safe and warm 🙏🏻
Alicia --It's You!--So good to hear from you--I am sore from Shovelling also-=-and I have boys living here in town but--I see very little of them--=Son#1 did help me however--ploughed the driveway-- but --little Lopez needs Chihuahua paths and the door would not open as there was so much snow against it--probably at your house too---= Good thing we are strong --- Hugs to yu-Lynda
DeleteGlad you had help from your son today, and are in one piece after shoveling. We expect dangerous weather in this part of Texas, wind chill that can kill. They are trying to get homeless into shelters. Glad one son lives with me, we suddenly have a water leak, under the cement foundation of the house, which will cost a bundle to fix, plus can’t be fixed until next week. That’s how they build houses here, wonder if the builders have a sneaky contract with plumbers, so plumbers make extra money when pipes leak in the cement foundation? Would not surprise me at all in this state! You take care.
ReplyDeleteYou are getting the wind we have--- That is so terrible about the water leak under yer house--and yes, that will cost a lot to fix-- I am sorry for you---- It sounds funny to hear "WIND CHILL " in Texas --We all in the North think Texas is hot-=- Hugs my friend , Lynda
DeleteThe wind is gusting big time here. Didn't get a lot of snow...yet. But the temp is only 2F. Very cold.
ReplyDeleteHad to have a new thermostat installed in my apt yesterday. It is turned on. I set it at 72 and would turn it down before I went to bed. It NEVER turned on! This morning I called our manager again cuz it said it was 63 in here. She said they would be out again 'sometime today.' I am wearing a tee shirt with a sweatshirt over it, heavy sweat pants and a winter hat. I am still cold. Hands on this keyboard especially.
I'm going to have hot soup for lunch to see if that would help. My fave lately has been those cheap little pks of creamy chicken ramen noodles. When they are half done I add a big handful of mixed veggies. So good!
Hope this storm dies down for all of us. Lots of my FB friends are experiencing the same kind of weather. I guess it's paying us back for our extended gentle fall. You are blessed to have your son to help.
We are strong. We will survive to enjoy the spring again. (God willing and the creed don't rise...another old saying) {{{HUGS}}}
Yu are going thru what we had to go thru after our power was off--I could not get the furnace to push out the heat--went to 66 then stopped--=Matt the Pilot told me to go to the furnace and turn the whole furnace off--then back on--He says it resets the furnace--AND IT WORKED__ Have you got heat now??-- I was so cold that day ours was off--could not get warm all day--Hopefully someone has come to help yu out--What a day here-- so much snow-- Lynda-- Thank yu for writing--so good to talk to you--Himself is in a bad bad mood--AGAIN!!! --Hugs, Lynda
DeleteSounds like you had the same storm experience as we did. Lots of snow, wind, and blocked doors, but our garage door was fine so got out that way to clear the other doors. Sheesh.
ReplyDeleteGot about 1 ft. with this storm punch. UGH. Now the arctic blast to make sure everything stays in place. Boooo.
Awww, the boys look warm and comfy. Good boys!
Take good care!

DeleteHi Lynda :
ReplyDeletewow you have a lot of snow. We didn't get much maybe 5 cm but it is cold and windy. It's icy where people haven't cleared their walk, so I didn't walk my dog very far cuz I couldn't. It's cold here so I can imagine how cold it is up there. Poor you and shoveling snow in that. Be careful. The boys looked so cute. Hope the power stays on now at least most of the time. It's too cold to be without heat. Stay safe and warm. Hugs Brenda
Brenda--It's Minus 19C-- I just took the dogs out--Poor wee Lopez did not like that--Beau is used to it=The power stayed on all day-Lynda-
DeleteStill snowing a little here, so far about an inch maybe...the wind is high so is blowing it a lot. Feel sorry for any animal out ...the wind chill is bad. Stay safe and tell #1 we all said thank you for helping his Mom ...
ReplyDeleteI certainly will tell him--- -- still snowing here--lightly Lynda
