It's Ground Hog Day--where is his shadow?

GOOD MORNING-- overcast --"kinda cool-ish"--no snow falling--  AND--the best part---is.....
usually
'LIFE' does fall into place--in time--

I woke up this AM---to ----"tariffs"---but---they were expected-- so----not much we can do --I saw a funny clip on the  television-- It was of a man in a grocery store, reaching for a bottle of ketchup--He had the bottle in his hand and someone came and tapped hm on the shoulder and grabbed the bottle right out of his hand, as he said, "Doncha know?-- You must buy Canadian--" so he took another bottle made in Canada--of ketchup--handed it to the guy buying the ketchup--kinda funny--because all Canadians  really like  an American brand , but now we must buy Canadian--LOL-- And, as if we really care eh?

This trade action  is crazy--at least I believe that!-As if we really care----We  feel . or at least I feel, that our 2 countries are quite alike--in fact we really like each other--so--why are we going through all this shenanigans--which we didn't even agree to--Were we ever asked??--Are we ever asked?--- So silly---  Our daughter lives in the US--We have been neighbours for years---good neighbours --and now all this craziness--

Anyway, Son#2 is just about ready to land in Sao Paulo, Brazil--  flew all night--
I believe it is GROUND HOG DAY, to-day--no shadow to-day--heavy cloud --

The Dog Trainer was here yesterday-- and worked with Lopez, the Chihuahua for a few hours-- He grew to really like her--He barked at her at first and wouldn't go near her--but--in time, she won him over--and now is writing up a workout for Lopez and I . to work on--It will be up to me to work with Lopez-- hopefully help him to trust us all a lot more--
--  I guess , if at first life doesn't turn out the way we imagined, hang in, because life eventually DOES make sense---  maybe not the way we had planned, but even better---  How often that happens--!
Lopez and I must  get outside-- I shall return-- ENJOY THE  DAY!

remember--

  1. Don’t get me started on the ridiculous tariffs. GAH! Lord have mercy.

WE weren’t asked about the tariffs, either, not that ‘he who is in charge’ would listen.

Safe flight for son #2 to Sao Paulo.

Wow! Your dog trainer was there for a few hours! That’s awesome. So glad that you’ll get some guidance re: how to work w/Lopez. Deep down most pups want to make us happy.

Got some snow overnight, but not a lot. Still cleared it so it doesn’t turn to ice.

    Hope it’s a GREAT Sunday.

    Hugs

  2. Good morning Lynda, wonderful news about the trainer winning over Lopez. Nice that she's writing things down, like a lesson plan, so that you can have a successful and rewarding experience with Lopez. He needs to realize you're the boss, not he.

As far as the Tariffs, we know how it came about here in the U.S., the Dumbkin used his black sharpie, like wielding a sword, and made it happen. He promised to lower the price of groceries, and now has insured that prices will go up as will inflation. I can't help but wonder why Republicans in the House and Senate are not pushing back, but more than likely they fear losing their power if the Maga crowd goes after them. It's no wonder that Canada and Mexico reacted as they did.

  3. Good morning, Lynda! Yes, these tariffs are crazy! The voters will see that they voted for higher groceries! I am Sadie today, doing my bed and other stuff. I bet you are doing yours too or it may be clean from the accident this week. So happy you and Lopez like the trainer. Yay! Well, the Ohio groundhog says early Spring! The other groundhog Punxsutawney Phil says 6 more weeks of Winter. BUT, Punxsutawney Phil’s ex-wife Phyllis, who now lives in Florida, says that Punxsutawney Phil is a compulsive liar! LOL! So, which to believe? Happy Sunday!

  4. Hello, Lynda!
It's warmer here today, no wind or rain, but it's cloudy. I'll take it.
We are due to have a bit more snow within the next couple days.
I am so glad that Lopez liked the trainer. How often will she check back on how the two of you are doing?
Did go to karaoke last night, but left early. Can't seem to take the latest hours like I used to. JoAnne and I had fun, though. I bought a pizza for us. I have leftovers down in the car. I will go down soon to rescue them for lunch.
Your son will come back soon.
Loved your memes, as always. Saved that one about being a senior.
It is Ground Hog Day. We usually go by the one in Washington, D.C. I haven't heard if they have tested him yet.
I may have to go back for more pills for my infection...still having pain last night. I do have 3 more to go. They are 2 a day.
Got dishes to wash, pizza to rescue. Do not think I will go down to Bingo in our Community Room this afternoon. It just takes hours out of my day. After last night, I need a snuggle with Lucky instead.
Will check back later, sis. Hope the day for all four of you proceeds as you want it to. Think happy thoughts. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  5. It's Kathy. I can't disagree with you about the tariffs - AND about the United States and Canada being neighbors. But I did hear someone talking today about it on one of our news programs and he said the tariffs with Canada are more about illegal drugs and human trafficking. I'm not sure how that works either - just what I heard. I also heard that some of the Aid money America is giving to foreign governments is actually being used to promote transgender issues in those governments. Not given to the poor to ease their hunger.

So no, we are also not being asked - they (whoever they are) are making all the decisions and we also just have to live with it. But I also read yesterday that the Immigration people have arrested over 7400 illegal immigrants who are criminals in their home country - people who have crossed the borders illegally.

Honestly, Lynda, I used to be proud of being an American - these last 4 years have taken all that away. We have so many creepy people walking by our home now - what used to be a very safe community. Breaking into cars in driveways overnight, starting fires, and other acts of violence. I never used to lock my doors - now I wouldn't even think of not locking them! But I'll get off my soap box now!

Oh, I'm so glad you're getting a plan to work with little Lopez. I'm also happy to hear that after awhile he warmed up to the trainer. We had a plumber here a week ago for hours - Daisy stopped barking at him but she sure watched what he was doing! Have a great day!

  6. I’m so glad Lopez is friendly towards the trainer, she really does train the Owner, that is the point. Oh man, the Russian fox entertainment channel is so full of blow! They are the outliers, too stupid to know that the embalmed idiot is lying. Even his mother disliked him. We citizens here have to pay up! That’s how tariffs work. I hope you get some good pictures from your son in Brazil.

  7. Hi Lynda, the official US groundhog says 6 more weeks of winter. If he were in St.Louis it would also be 6 more weeks. Either way..shadow or not..its 6 more weeks. Phil is a reason to celebrate being done with January.
What I heard about Canadian tariffs is the intention to stop fentanol. Who knows? It's more of a bargaining chip...my opinion. I'm sure our prices will go up.
Hope you and Lopez can come to the conclusion that YOU are the BOSS.
It's true, given time...things do work out.
    Great inserts today.
    Enjoy your day. Relax.
Hugs and love from sunny St.Louis

  8. I'm glad to know the trainer will work well for you and Mr. Lopez. It may take some time and some work, but it will of such benefit. Dogs are such good companions, and the training will make things easier for both of you in the long run.

    Happy Sunday!!

  9. So sorry about the Tariffs. I did not vote for the man, and I have been saddened since 2015 that the country that I loved (note the past tense) thinks a bully, inveterate liar, narcissist, con man, and a criminal who spent the past 10 years running down the United States in all his speeches, should be President. And no, there is no problem with Fentanyl or illegal immigrants coming over the Canadian Border, Donald Trump just wants Canada under his control. SO, stay strong and understand that many informed U.S. citizens are against this treatment of our neighbors, but the party of Trump and Elon Musk are in charge now and all we can do is write letters and pray.
Sorry about the rant. I am just so disgusted with our government.

  10. Fortunately most of us in the states understand why the tariffs are being put in place and will bear with the situation as is hoped it will be temporary...Linda

  11. Hi Lynda, Marti here. I most of the time do not check back in to read the comments. Just a quick one - I too, did NOT vote for Trump, and think the world has gone frankly, INSANE. I feel powerless to do anything about it.
