  1. Short but sweet blog, sis.
I take it you have decided on which hair salon (or lady in her home) you are going to use.
It IS cold! Still -5F here, beautiful blue sky with sun, too. Still too cold for me to go out. I am having a delivery from Walmart within an hour or so...cat food and other essentials.
Been posting on my mamaswisdom FB page again, as it finally started to get views after a long time. Blogger never worked for me, though. I even tried putting it on your list.
I just got a all. Am finally going for my EGD on March 9th. Hope I can get my friend, Donna, to drive with me. She can drive home as I may still be woozy from the anesthetic.
You will come back with beautiful hair and a doggie anxious to get out of his crate. Have a marvelous rest of your day. Hope your little package comes. It's not much, but really unusual books and that Blue Water I told you about.
    {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  2. It's Kathy - I really needed to read that meme about being happy. My husband and I just had some harsh words - and it makes me so sad that he can't understand. Yesterday was such a good day. My daughter had her first zoom meeting with the 2 custody evaluators along with her boys' father. It went very well for her - clearly she knows her boys and what their needs are. It didn't look like Bryan did! We were all very happy about that! We still have sunshine, but finally it's warming up. Woke up to above temps this morning! I hope you have a good day and enjoy your hair day!

  3. I have brown hair, which is getting streaks of grey, and am just going to let it go grey; if I really hate it all grey I'll dye it myself. Its expensive enough just getting my trims every few weeks. People I know who have gone grey start by getting grey streaks put in as they grow it out, then eventually it is all grey.

  4. I went over to the white side a long time ago ... best decision I made. Have gotten more compliments on my hair color (silvery white with a bit of dark around the back) than I ever got before. It is liberating!

  5. I don't understand; you get your hair colored every week? I don't color mine (I only have a few grays, will be 60 in 2 weeks), but my sister does, but she only colors hers ever 6-8 weeks. I know you have it styled every week, but do you have to do the color every week? I'm not saying your vain, it's totally fine how anyone feels about their hair at any age. How much would it be without the coloring each week? Lisa/Straitlover

  6. I will be 80 soon. I decided a couple of years ago to stop coloring my hair. My real hair is a BEAUTIFUL color. My hair stylist says she has 30 year olds that want to be this color. What a delightful surprise it was!

  7. Hi Lynda, great inserts...thank you.
I couldn't continue paying $200 a week..I get trims every 4 weeks and that's expensive enough. I refused to color my hair as you have to keep doing it. I'm 78 and mine is mostly grayish silver in front but dark on most of the back. I'm good with it as it's what God gave me. Maybe a simpler style you can maintain yourself?
Hope your day is going great.
    Hugs and love

  8. It sure is cold there, brrr. Wow, that’s a lot to pay for coloring, plus regular care. Was it that high where you used to go? I can only afford a cut once a year, quit the coloring after i hit 70, I’m 78 now. Husband died, i couldn’t afford coloring and hair stuff. So it just turned grey to white on its own. No big deal. You are blessed to afford to keep doing it. Yes, Spring should finally show up in another month for us. Now it’s the doldrums. Careful out walking.

  9. Wow, is that what the new hairdresser charges? Not for a minute would I pay $200 every week. Maybe you can go for her to wash and blow dry your hair and see if your DIL would help you color it, if coloring is important to you. I mean, it is your money, and I know you said you have money in the bank after selling the Lake Elliot home, so if it is important to you, then do what make you feel good about yourself.

I colored my hair for many years as it started getting grey when I was in my 30's. When most of it greyed, I started using lighter color on it, ending with a light blond several years ago. Then I decided it was just too much trouble, so I let it grow out. I still have some dark hairs, but it it mostly white, and I'm okay with it.

I haven't had a professional cut in over 13 years. I cut it myself in what was called a pixie cut. The only trouble with that is that it is hard to get the back cut just right, but since I don't look at the back of my head, I don't worry about it...

  11. Lynda, I'm only 66, I was dying it blonde, my friend said she liked it better when it was gray. Gray is IN! You can start out by coloring it gray all over, as others are doing, and then just let your natural gray come in. Gray is all the rage now. Or white. White/gray hair is very flattering! Sometimes it's even silver. My mom used to color it this hidious blonde/red color, then she went back to natural, and it was lovely silver! Marti

    Hi, Lynda!
I’m still working, and my hair has thinned out to the point where you can see scalp and I’m maybe 60 percent gray? With as little hair as I had left, I quit dyeing it - didn’t seems worth it. Last summer I experimented with wearing a wig and liked how people treated me better, so I’ve continued to wear it. I’ll definitely be going to year round hats and scarves if I can ever retire.

  15. Glad you have sunshine even though it’s extremely cold. We have just come out of extreme cold.

HOPE your hair day went well. And for sure, hope that the hearing aide appointment went well for Himself. Hearing is so important. LOVE your meme about being happy.

Yeah I made the decision a long time ago that white hair wins. For sure, Lady Clairol gave up covering my gray anywhere.

HUGS to you and hope it’s a good Friday.
