We have SNOW ---- lotza snow falling--- and VERY cold!!--I have been out shovelling around the car, twice-- The guy who owns this place, has ploughed also----(NOT ME!!!! LOLOL!)----
So, I thank you --profusely---for all the support from you , with me trying to accept that I now have Macular degeneration---It sounds like the bad stuff that goes with this problem, will happen slowly over the next lot of years and in the meantime , I must eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies and take vitamins---lots of them---AND PRAY -- that I do not lose too much sight--Oh----and not cry---Lord love a Duck!!!--AND NOT SPEND TOO MUCH MONEY, --
So, to-day, Son #2 the Pilot, and I , were at the grocery store--AGAIN--I got more cherry tomatoes, green peppers--- fresh fruits and lotza veggies--- ---which may correct my eye sight--?????maybe????
Life just rolls on--and on---and we try to make the best of it--- --- as crazy as it sounds--
As I type, I am trying to cancel a credit card we never use-- ---Have you ever done this?-- I think they keep you "On HOLD" for 500 hrs and then they sent us to their "Fraud Dept"-thinking because he (FRED) cannot hear, that we are bad people--all I wanted to do was cancel the card-- -- Lord love a Duck!! 
I think women could run this world a lot better -- get rid of all the present rules----- be way more sensible!--(4 hours to cancel a credit card--) and force a retired Dr to try to hear on a phone--a Dr who is 97 with a hearing problem at that!----- Be strong--

It's Kathy. It should not have to take 4 hours on hold to cancel a credit card! Every time I call someplace I am pretty sure I am talking to someone who lives in another country! They never can speak real English and so often I can't even understand them. I try to do as much of that kind of thing on-line, but that's not so easy anymore! I really hope your day improves! We are expecting lots and lots of snow tomorrow so Tom and I went out to get some groceries. Of course, I didn't get everything I really needed. One day I need to plan ahead better. Take care of yourself!

Just cancelled one card and it was a hassle. But hopefully you got it done.
I can do nothing but agree that WOMEN would do a much better job running this world in general. *SIGH*
I just got new hearing aides today (mine are rechargeable and the battery was reaching it’s limit). I can hear so much better. MAYBE TOO MUCH! Wish Himself would use his ears. IT’d make a world of difference in his outlook.
Sorry it was such a hassle cancelling the card. That is the way of the world right now.
HOPE you can find some time to relax a little this weekend.

ReplyDeleteHi Lynda: I go to an organization called Vitreous Retina Macula Specialists. I have to get a shot in my right eye every 2 mths as I have a blockage in that eye. They also deal with Macular Degeneration. A neighbour down the street has gone there for that. They have a vitamin they carry called Vision Essence.Last time I went to my optometrist, he also had it. It's around $50 per bottle. The last specialist I saw there recommended Preservision Areds 2 for Macular Regeneration. I think that was at Healthy Planet or Shoppers Drug Mart. So take what is recommended as we only get two eyes! Best of luck.

DeleteWe have wind again, but no rain. The weather folks have been saying we'd get a bunch ... but not a drop. That's how it is here ... we believe it will rain when we feel wet. :D

DeleteI too have the beginnings of Macular Degeneration, and my eye dr. prescriped the AREDS 2 by Bosch and Laumb that others have referred you too and I am happy to report that my MD has not progressed over the 3+ years I have been taking it! Lastly, a few years ago, when going over a refinance of the mortgage of our vacation home, the lady at the bank gave me a sample of a letter to send to stores, companies, etc. that I had credit cards to that I hadn't used in years...it was very simple just to send them a letter asking that they close my account,,,,,one and done. They replied back that they had closed my account according to my request. If you email me, I will send you a copy of the letter. I used it several times as i used to have several gasoline cards that I quit using. The bank lady cautioned me to wait a few months between sending the cancellation letters so that it would not adversly affect my credit score.. I am working hard at inventorying everything in my house for insurance purposes after my dehumifier fire....about 3/4th of the way done. Can't wait to be done with the terrible smoke and soot smell in the house as once as it is all inventoried, they will bring a dumpster and pitch it all.....a hard way to declutter! Makes me sad about all the things that are going, but I will defiinitely not be replacing all of it....my new motto is "less is more"!
ReplyDeleteI tried to do that once and they gave me such a bad time that I just hung up a couple of days later I called and said that I had lost it so they sent out a new one I got it and never activated it I have no Idea what happened there but it did finally get canceled on their end dur to no activity but I did know that the active card was never able to be used and because they did not have the pass code no one could activate the new one
ReplyDeleteI did have to close several of my Dads when he passes that was so stupid because they wanted to talk to him at one point I said well call heaven or call hell try to find him there he is dead you can either close the account or not I do not care but you will get no money from hiim on it it did not have a balance but if it did get used it would not get paid
Hi Lynda, not to worry about MacD. It's very, very slow progression. Take the Areds 2 Preservision 2x a day and live.

I think you'd really enjoy aqua aerobics. If there is a YMCA or gym with a pool, please check it out. Easy on joints and easy way to find new buddies.
Were going to get some snow shoveling amount on Tuesday and Wednesday. Amount unknown right now. I HATE SNOW.
