Oh my goodness thought I'd never make it on here--- but--- Here I am--- Lordy Be!!--The storm is coming--so, Son#$2 was down here--early saying, "Mom, You have to get to the grocery store-- We just got back and there is no-one in the store"--
You know, yesterday I drove to GIANT TIGER --out the highway--by myself---(Well sorta by myself--Son#2 sat beside me)--I am getting used to the village here - It scared me at first--'specially after they told me that I have that eye disease---- but----- I am taking those vitamins and maybe I really don't have that dreaded eye disease--who knows?--(Well, one can hope!???)-
I am kinda a "stick my head in the sand " type of person--LOL-So, How is your day going??--Are you facing your world head on???-----or-----no matter what, hoping for the best anyway??-----
So, here, in Lakefield, we are going to get a bad storm with --like 1000 feet of snow--NO, really about 2 feet of the white stuff--maybe--
- Son #2 flew off to Montreal this AM-- will return this evening--- To-day he carried the recyclables to the curb for me--AND THEY TOOK THEM AWAY--even mine-----Lopez will have his Dog Trainer come-- sometime next week, AND--big news, when Lopez gets in his "growl-y" mood, I tell him to get into his crate--- AND HE DOES--- He crawls in there and I shut the door--so, no more biting, for now--Big news for him!!! These dogs are not easy--boy oh boy!
Himself is good--- (sorta--for him)--I am trying to not eat the sweets--- and more veggies--- The wash is done-- We have food in the frig--Lord love a Duck!!! It IS a good day! How about in your neck of the woods??--
Wow! 5 AM and you were off to the grocery store! I just sleep later now than I ever have! Got up at 7 am this morning....but still not moving too fast....very tired as I finally finished up inventorying everything at my house. Took me 9 days - at least 5 hours each day, but am finally out of the filthy soot and awful smoke smell. Now I just have to get everything on the insurance company's spread sheets - which will take several hours each day for the next many days! Sigh.....just got to take one day at a time and do what I can do! Stay safe in all that snowstorm! Glad you are all stocked up! Hopefully you remembered dog and cat food! :-)
ReplyDeleteBut Sandra--YU have gone thru a lot--and yu are doing it-- strong Lady yu are-- -- Proud of yu-- How are yer cats doing?-=-= Lynda
DeleteFor sure, an hour of worry is WAY more exhausting than an hr. @ the gym.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to get out and shop. AND you got to the Giant Tiger w/the guidance of your DS.
Yesterday was not a good day, but today is better . . . so . . . I’ll hang my hat on that (as Dad used to say!)
AGAIN . . . another success with the recyclables. Good job!
Yup . . . definitely yesterday was one of those days where I felt like a fruit loop in a land of cheerios. BUT alas, today is more a cheerio day!
HUGS and blessings

Glad I finally checked for this after the first three times. LOL
ReplyDeleteDid you read my comment (and others) on yesterday's blog?
Very cold here, too, a bit of snow expected. Don't think any major storm, though.
Wish I had a Foodland around here. At least I can call for delivery, but you always gotta tip the people.
Heard from my doc's office. I will need an appointment with Endrocrinology. And the EGD from my GI doc.
Honey, you do have that eye disease. That doesn't mean that you can't manage it so it doesn't progress. Did you ever get your sun and night driving glasses?
I need to go out, take the garbage and recylables out and move my car back to the handicapped spot. It was taken last night.
Dishes to do, etc. It never ends, does it?
Glad Himself seems okay today and that Lopez is better, too. The trainer knows what she's doing. I'm not surprised he's afraid of things as small as he is. She did say that's why he bites. But making him go to his crate...doesn't that make him scared, too? Things can be confusing.
All for now, sis. I'll be back! Stay warm. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
Yes I read all the comments on yesterdays blog--this AM-- Yesterday was a busy day-- but--yes I read all, this AM--I enjoy all yer comments so much----I get to know yu all with your comments-- -Holy cow--I do need to get the night driving glasses--forgot those Maggie!--- The crate seems to calm him down--didn't at first but it does now-- only when I have to go out , I put him in there as I'm frtaid Fred might hurt him--m Good to hear your thoughts Miss Maggie--Lynda
DeleteIt's Kathy. I can absolutely relate with the first meme - worrying is exhausting! Very cold here - didn't warm up to 0 until about noon. I was very proud of myself - I bundled up and when to the gym while it was about -10. I really wanted to cancel, but right now I'm so glad I didn't! I have had to tell Daisy to go in her house (what we call her crate) a time or two - she also kind of slinks in there and stares at me. But she knows not to come out until I say it's okay! They are very smart little animals! Last night I noticed her limping a bit and today she's had a hard time jumping onto the couch and the chair she likes to sit in. I'm a little worried but hoping she maybe just pulled something. Or maybe is sympathy limping because her mama still limps around the house - especially in the evenings when I'm tired! Good luck with the storm - I hope you don't have that much snow but at least you have food! Your Son #2 sounds like a wonderful man!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL--Lopez slinks in and then stares at me--LOLOL_-Kinda funny eh??--It seems to calm him down--Son #2 is an amazing guy-- He is not back yet from Montreal--Yes--"THE STORM" is supposed to hit tomorrow-- sounds like a movie eh?--LL--Lynda
DeleteOh, good for Mr. Lopez, going to his crate when he gets growly and is told. If he learns to feel the crate is 'his safe place' it can be a really good thing for him and for you. We've had dogs who really enjoyed their crates and would pop in there for naps or just alone time the house was busy with company. In winter we'd drape their special blanket over it to hold in the warmth as we lowered the thermostat a bit at night, so it was like their little den. We left the door open as they were out of the destructive phase. They had a soft toy or two in there so it was kind of cushy for them. Other dogs never learned to love their crate, but it served it's purpose until they were well-trained and no longer needed it.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got to the grocery and stocked up; I miss fresh fruit and veg if I run out.
Happy Tuesday!
Good to hear from yu--Yes--He does seem to like his crate-- and he willingly goes to it-- Yu know, I hired the Dog Trainer--She seems to like him-- He likes her-- LOL--Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda: We're getting the storm tomorrow too but not as much snow as you. We might get 15 to 20 cm. Winter this month is making up for what we missed last year and earlier this year. At least you don't have to shovel so much this year. Matt is a real blessing to have around. Not looking forward to the next few days - stay safe! Hugs Brenda
ReplyDeleteMatt is amazing-- just back to Toronto to-night-- post poned his vacation to Barbados --due to storm coming--He and his ife were due to go--- glad he will not be in that storm tho--And yes--- no shovelling--LOL-- well I sorta clear around the car-- a habit--LOL==Brenda good to hear from yu--Lynda
DeleteWhat a good thing, you went to the grocery so very early, and it is done! Not on a list, at least. Have you had any piano time yet? I wish you could lay more often. The crate is supposed to be the dogs “Safe Place”…not a punishment! One of the best ideas for doggies. Will you have time for your hair this week, some chatting time with the hairdresser! Take care walking outside.
ReplyDeleteFor sure--The hairdresser on Friday--I am now going to the owner-=- Lynda
DeleteTotally awesome progress for Lopez to recognize his crate as his "safe space". My son and his wife use the cue for Carl "Go to your room!" and he trots off to his kennel. I tell Ember "Kennel up!" when we are playing crate games, but when it's time for a nap, I just ask her if she wants a crate treat, or I start putting one together that she knows is only delivered at nap-time, and she trots right in. I've got to letting her have more wind-down time, not trying to "rush" her into the crate, but when it's time, it's time.
ReplyDeleteAnd... we're waiting on the snow here, too. Three to six inches is the current forecast for the next 24 hours, and we really, really need the moisture! Doesn't mean I like driving on it, so I'm glad I got a few groceries today.
Stay safe up there! Keep those eyes as healthy as you can. Not easy getting old-er, is it?
Barb --14 inches predicted of snow here but not till noon-- -30 inches predicted in Elliot Lake-- Lynda
DeleteGood evening, Lynda! Storm heading to Ohio and most of everywhere. I was Sadie today. It feels nice when it’s done. Boy, you were up and at it to the store. Nice of him to take your recycling down for you. Ahh, so good of Lopez to get in the crate when you tell him. Tommy does the same and he gets a treat. My 9 year old refused the crate when she was little but she can run free and no problems. Can’t wait until Tommy can do that. He will be 2 in May. Enjoy your evening. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of a dog is Tommy??torm tomorrow--HUgs, Lynda
