AND--We have black flies!

This is a "Linda Finn" painting- --It is of  one of the public beaches in our town-- It is a beautiful picture--This was a huge reason that when we moved here  we stayed  here. We were only going to stay for 2 years-----That was a very long time ago--
And---  the above picture was all of us, last evening , at Son#1's home, down the road from us. We were celebrating his Birthday-- It felt wonderful to be together again, after so many years of isolation. Even Himself went--Himself and I, are on the left of the picture. As you can see, the Grandchildren are now , mostly taller than both Himself and me.

We have black flies this AM--I had to wear a bug hat to walk Lopez as these flies were swarming my face--so, here we go again, trying to live with these awful flies. They keep telling us that the  heat will kill them, but--- I don't really believe that, as it seems, no matter what, they pretty much last until  the beginning of July or longer.

So, I hear that the Queen is 96 -----  I am still waiting for my call from the Palace. Maybe she is waiting for me to call her--yu think??--Anyway, a puzzle arrived in the mail, from the Palace--(It said from Buckingham Palace) on the box--  I'm sure it came from her-----(Do any of you know if she sends puzzles out to her friends? and did she send one to any of you?-- ) Lord love a Duck! --

I even asked Son #2, who is en route to Seoul Korea right now, as I type----He knows nothing about  the Queen's puzzles.---

I am going to "hoof it" to the corner right now-- amongst the bugs ----It is FRIDAY----  just in case you are as mixed up about what day it is, as I am--Hugs--hugs, and more hugs-

  1. OH goodness! Yes, looks like your stay was definitely lengthened! I can see why. So beautiful. Well, except for those black flies!

What a lovely picture of you and your family.

Wow! I knew Queen Elizabeth was in her 90’s but did not realize 96! How nice of her to send a puzzle! Nope, I bet not everyone get one from her!

HUGS and YOU are special, too!

  4. I don't think that I could live with the black flies for any length of time. The scenery is what would make it worth while and a bug suit. Love the pictures you posted. Hugs!

  5. Queen Elizabeth fits perfectly the 'long live the Queen' saying. And she looks great. Gorgeous painting and family photo. Glad you enjoyed time with your family. Sorry those nasty black flies are already there. Have a beautiful Friday.

  7. Friday May 13. Whew! 67 years ago today my Husband, at age 19, was out on his motorcycle, a Harley of course, when he was hit by a car making a left hand turn. Suffered a compound fracture of his leg and spent the rest of the year in a waist high cast. By the next spring when I met him he was back on the bike. He thinks of it every time May 13th lands on a Friday. Have a great day and stay safe.

  8. Nice family picture and that himself actually went. Nice beach picture too. I don't envy you putting up with the black flies. They are one of the most annoying things I have ever experienced. Can't imagine the queen sending out puzzles but congrats.

  9. Lovely picture of the whole family, those kinds of memories are so nice to have and keep! Sorry about the flies, do birds eat them, or bats? Bats love mosquitoes, too. Happy you got a new puzzle from the queen’s lady in waiting!

  10. So sorry about the black flies, that must be just horrible. We don't really get too many flies but mosquitoes abound by mid-June. At least they're not too bad until evening, and by then I'm ready to stay inside. I'm glad you got a walk in with Lopez - I'm heading out with my Daisy in an hour. It's a beautiful day here!

  11. Beautiful Painting. No wonder you love it up there.
So glad you and Fred got to see family. Great photo.
Sorry you went from snow and ice to black flies. We don't have those here. They sound dreadful.
A puzzle from the Queen...how amazing is that!!! Perhaps someone told the Queen what a fan you are.
    Have a great day.
    Hugs
