Take Care of YOU!

This is Lopez, who believes he is just the same as a person-- can sit at the table, on a chair--just like me!--Lord love a Duck! ---For such a wee little guy, it amazes me what goes on in his little head.

Well, Spring has really sprung here in the North! --  Even the black flies are out, bumping onto my face as I work outside. They aren't biting yet--but, will be soon I'm afraid. I resurrected the old bug suit which is miles too large for me, but, perhaps I can take it in somehow.  Finally we can open doors and windows to the outside, as winter is over!--  I have heard from the neighbours that the hummingbirds are even here, so I must get the feeders outside--mix up the sugar water---

Yesterday I did go to the grocery and of course, the prices have climbed again--if you can get what you need-- some shelves are sorta empty--like , the cereal aisle. I check every week for the cereal Himself likes, but so far, it has not appeared! And, because we are on a fixed income, I try to stick to a budget , which is almost an impossible thing to stick to right now--It is a good thing that we don't  travel too far, as gasoline prices are over $2 a litre---- (not a gallon as in the U.S)----VERY high in Canada!

The whole thing is mind boggling----balancing the books--  paying the bills - and---  there is nothing left over for clothing--  I might have to eat my way up in pounds soon, as then my clothing would fit---LOLOL--- No no no---  (I really would never do that!)----I'd rather go naked than gain that weight back!--LOL

I was reading  last evening in my easy chair, about how to live longer--Of course it was recommended to walk--30 minutes a day-- and again I must try to get out there and hoof it to the highway and back, by myself-- It is uplifting--- good for the brain cells--'specially in these crazy times!

Until to-morrow-----Take care of YOU!

  1. Oh my goodness! That’s something Miss Lilly feels, too. She’s a PERSON, and can sit wherever we do!

**SIGH** Yes, the prices of everything are up, but I say thanks for everything that I can get that is on my list. Lots of empty shelves. Right now the crisis is baby formula. **SIGH**

I know, I know. Living on a fixed income it is a total balancing act to get what’s needed. Indeed, the needs take precedence over the wants.

  2. Sometimes you can check Amazon for cereals, they send it to you, since it does not need refrigeration. Wal mart here, does that too. Buy more than one, to make it worthwhile. I had trouble finding dishwashing liquid, so ordered it, UPS brought it. Wish you did not have those black flies. That is one thing we don’t have, lol. Just bad air currently, here in North Texas, smog is what it is.

  3. Wish I lived near you. I would alter your clothing as well as I could
For you for free. I would be getting the best end of the bargain since your blog is something I look forward to each day. I should warn you though that the last time I shortened a pair of trousers for my brother I did a perfect job on the first leg. Real professional like. As I moved on to the second leg, I looked at the existing hem and cut it off to the required new inseam and hemmed that leg too. When my brother put them on that night to go to the theater he yelled "Sis. You are killing me here." One leg was still the original store length and the other leg was half way up to his his calf! Turns out I did such a good job on the first leg that it looked just like the factory hem and i cut it off thinking it was the second leg. Yes, I cut off and hemmed the same leg twice. As if not bad enough, I had only minutes to hem the real second leg and then sew a piece to the too short leg before leaving for theater

So he had a visible seam all around the calf. The theater was dark and he did not leave his seat at intermission. I could do the same for you but of course not when you are presented to the Queen. Lol

  4. I sure do understand about the rising prices. I cringe every time I go shopping these days. I love that picture of Lopez, he is so cute sitting on that chair. My Daisy also thinks she's a human. We have two recliners and she has claimed one for herself. She rarely lets my husband sit in his!

  6. Every time I go to the store the prices seem to have gone up. And a lot of them climb a dollar at a time - a bit of price gouging at the same time? Lopez looks so cute. I'm so glad winter has finally left. Gas in Toronto is going up again tonight by 4 cents a litre.

  7. You know, that's the handsomest Chi I've ever seen. I don't care for the look of most Chihuahua's. You said it's a deer head? What is the color? I love the color. Maybe after my dear Cavapoo passes, I will think about one like yours, though I like the long haired ones better. Did you go with a breeder? How did you find yours?

    1. We found a breeder a long way from here but Son#3 drove me down near Toronto to get him-- He weighed only 3 pounds when we got him--is over 10 pounds now--about as large as he will get. I knew nothing about this breed so found him a lot of work at first. He came with these terrible "Pee Pads"--- which he we used to doing his business on--WE took them away and took him outside to do the business--It confused him and so made it difficult to train him--but---He is trained now and always goes outside now.--would I get another wee C chihuahua ?--I used to say "NO" but--I have grown to like the wee fella--so--maybe--- LOL--Lynda

    2. JUST so handsome. SO glad he's finally trained.I would use your breeder if I lived nearby there, but I live in Ohio. PLUS, Jake is only 4.

  8. Lopez is looking chipper. Those searches for things we need... the baby formula shortage here in the US... yikes! They are telling people not to make their own formula... who'd have thought? My mom made ALL our own formula for her first three children. The manufactured powders didn't come onto the market until my youngest two sisters were infants! Make my own worries about some products shrink!

Hope you stay well and that Himself's favorite cereal shows up soon!

  9. Great to hear your windows can be open.
Lopez looks cute on his chair.
Grocery shopping is not fun. The prices are up weekly, it seems.
Keep up the great work on losing weight. Baggy clothes are better than tight clothes.
The bug suit was never a fashion statement so too big will have to do.
Sorry you can't find the cereal for himself. We have the same issues here. Some things are never in stock. Gasoline went up here overnight. Unfortunately, I didn't get it yesterday so paid .30 a gallon more today. SIGH
    Have a blessed day.
    Hugs
