Have an awesome weekend!

A long weekend-- Dad used to say, "Wake Up and smell the roses"----Are you going away?--- Does the price of gas make yu  stay around home?- It is a Holiday weekend, and are you content to have a "Staycation" at home?

We had a terrible thunderstorm roar thru here, last evening--It was pitch black at 5pm-- I heard that  Michigan  has a tornado go thru there--so it was close. My Mom used to love thunder storms. Our cottage was in Port Stanley, right on Lake Erie, and there were very bad storms go up and down the lake, always at night. Mom would sit in her rocker, looking over the lake   with all the inside lights out, and watch them. She would say that the storm cleared the air!

We went to turn on the furnace yesterday afternoon, and it would not go on. I called Rusty, our very good furnace repair guy, and he came about 5pm. It was a tiny fuse inside the furnace which he replaced.-- One never knows what each day will bring does one?

With everything that can happen in a day, I find I must remember that every day can be the best day of the year!---It could always get worse!-- ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘----

I am going for bananas soon! One can never have enough bananas--- Oh---yesterday I did get the fertilizer on all the grass-- It was a race against the storm--but the rain was welcome , to soak it into the soil--That was a big job but I am happy it is done! --You know, I never remember my Mom doing all this----spreading fertilizer!--  Life sure has changed hasn't it?

  1. When I heard about that storm in Northern Michigan I thought of both you and of "my kids" who are on a road trip, closer to there than to heree. Based on their updates, all safe where they happened to be at the time, thank goodness.

Hope you have a good holiday weekend! And that the store has bananas for you... I need to make such a store run today, too.

  2. Good morning! Yes, I tend to stay home because of the gas prices. Today I am taking a class on furniture painting. This is my second class. It is so relaxing and fun. Might be my new summer project along with my gardening!
I so love your blogs. My heart goes out to you with the struggles and yet you do your best to find a positive spin. Life is so challenging and yet there is always a rainbow if you search for it.
Funny thing, but my dogs seems to center me when things get complicated. Two big dogs. One is 4 and the other turns 15 next week! I also struggled with the new puppy syndrome. Whew, so glad that we have turned that corner!!!
Have a wonderful day, my friend. Hugs from Jacquie in Idaho. (Jacqpra)

  5. I saw pictures of the tornado damage in Michigan ๐Ÿ˜ช I love a good thunderstorm but no tornados please! We have them often through here.

Glad you got your furnace fixed. Had a situation with our cable service yesterday. The service guys had to replace our "old" cable wires so we were out of service for a day. Now it should be better they say.

Enjoy you holiday weekend! Will you be seeing the kids? Hugs ❤️

  6. We had the terrible winds and rain on Thursday and that turned into snow. We have snow right now and below freezing temps.

    Enjoy your holiday weekend!

  7. Price of gas doesn't bother me too much. We are mostly stay at home people. Price of groceries...now that is something else.

  8. Yes, the price of gas definitely is making it more attractive to stay home . . . . staycation.

Glad you were safe in the thunderstorms.

Glad that the furnace is fixed. PHEW

Glad that the rain waited til you got the fertilizing done!

    Have a good weekend!

  9. Hope you got in and out quickly with your bananas. I still have not gone anywhere away from home, except other son’s house. Still shopping online, delivery from Wal Mart. No meals out yet. Covid spreading again in Texas, they are too chicken to wear masks. Laughingly called adults. So weekend is always the same, anyway. Take care of yourself.

  10. I love storms too but these days they can sometimes be really scary. We had one of those about a month ago and the thunder was so loud that even Daisy was restless! We are not driving around much and there's been no traveling for years. Partly because of Covid, partly because of the high gas prices now, and partly because I've been dealing with both a knee and back problem. I'm scheduled for spinal fusion surgery in June and not looking forward to that! I guess at least there's a good chance that it will take away the pain I've been dealing with.
