  3. Lopez needs to be crated or muzzled if he's acting up. He has to learn he is not "alpha dog". Glad Covid is gone and all are fine. Hope all the family is still there and you got pictures.

  4. Glad you let Covid pass over you. The dog should have learned NO by now! Too many people, too much excitement, into the crate and into another room. Alone time. The breeders should have warned you in the first place, but they wanted the bucks! Take lots of pictures for memories.

  5. I love when we're so busy with the children and grandchildren that there's little time for the regular stuff. Glad the Covid is over and everyone is doing well!

  6. Make sure people...especially kids...approach him slowly and peacefully. The reason he's acting that way is probably all the noise, confusion and commotion.
I am so happy that you and Himself have the love of the family surrounding you!
Is Sushi the only cat in the family? Has your kitty had any extra loving?
Hey...got my PC back! Tomorrow I go the Minneapolis VA and the next my Lucky has his vet appointment. Hope he won't give me too much trouble getting him into the carrier!

  7. Glad you’ve conquered COVID. Yes poor Lopez used to have al your attention and now he has to share. He’s protecting you and telling everyone to bugger off. As another friend said. Make him feel
Secure in his own space however you want to do that. Caged or in a closed room , or on a leash with lots of attention. He really is just a toddler and has not had huge experiences with lots of people. Lots of cuddles on Your lap with quiet time. Or on Fred’s lap might help. Considering how noisy family can be I imagine he’s often just plain frightened. Imagine walking with giants all
Day screaming laughing and yelling and running. Who would not feel
    Ambushed.

  8. Enjoy! Lopez is no doubt that way for two reasons: that is the Chihuahua's nature, to be protective of their owner, and be a one or two person dog, and also because he didn't have a chance to get proper socialization during his young puppyhood. There is a window of time in which they are supposed to be exposed to as many people, and situations, as possible; men, men in hats, tall people, short people, people in wheelchairs, and the like. There he was, stuck in the middle of winter, with little to no opportunities for socialization. So it will be probably next to impossible now, sadly.

  9. Soooo glad that y’all are feeling better. PHEW.

OHhhhhh no on Lopez! Yup . . . little dogs can have big attitudes. I know Miss Lilly does @ times. Good luck. You’ve gotten good advice. I just know when Miss Lilly gets overwhelmed, putting her in her crate – her safe place w/her toys – calms her down.

    Enjoy your family!

  10. So happy y’all have Covid behind you now! I agree with others that Lopez is probably overwhelmed with all the company. He’s used to you and Himself in his world. My little dog could be the same when lots of ppl came here. It’s there nature to “protect” you. I learned to crate him in another room with his blanket and toys. It worked that way!
