Work hard, Be Kind, and that is all!

It's hot---It looks like rain, but so far, it's just very humid-----I was going to do groceries to-day , but decided we should eat what is in the freezer first-----so I vacuumed-----  There is a lot of dog hair--everywhere-

-Himself always says, " We should get rid of these dogs---"----and, I always reply-- "Well, which dog should we get rid of first?"----(because it's not going to happen!)-----You know, I talk to these dogs--I know they hear me. Himself does not hear me-- I feel like Dr Doolittle you know--talking to the animals--Beau , talks to me with  his body language-- I know he understands me as he always does what he is told-- and Lopez will learn--

The Grandchildren have departed--Our daughter is back in Ohio--  Son#2 the Pilot, flew to London, England, last night---  He just might get to see the Queen--and yesterday I sat on the dock--alone--  It was awful! --Well, Beau and Lopez were with me-- I will have to ask some Ladies to come out and swim and visit--Himself is not able to walk down to the dock.

I did play the piano this morning, in between vacuuming-- and it felt good! --Lopez is weeping and wailing downstairs so, I will end this--- and take him out. ----I just was wondering what you all are up to to-day--???--- Did any of you get that Covid virus like we did?--And if you did, were you very ill?-(We were not!)-

I have to remind myself of this daily---  KEEP CALM----Try to stay cool----  exercise--- and turn the corners of yer mouth "UP"-- like--"SMILE"---  and if you are flying to the UK, look for Son#2 who will be coming back in a day or so--Wouldn't that be so funny if any of you met him?--

Lord love a duck! Now Lopez is screeching!

  1. Awwwww, (((HUGS))) It’s hard when the kids leave, but you have so many good memories! For sure, you have Beau, Lopez and Sushi for company. Too bad Himself won’t wear his hearing aides. It really makes life so much better! **Sigh**

Safe travels to DS #2 and glad DD and family arrived home safely.

    HUGS my dear.

  2. Glad DD is safely home.
Yes, invite some lady friends to dock sit.
I understand talking to your animals and yes, they do understand. Husband doesn't talk. Wears an aid but still doesn't see nor hear well.
Have not had Covid but know plenty of folks who have had it recently. Thankfully, they had vaccines and boosters and didn't have bad cases.
Have a restful day. GLAD you played your piano.
    Hugs

  3. Stay safe and breathe, Linda. I am off to France for 2 weeks. Have yet to catch Covid or be sick except to a light cold last February. Will take you with me to France in spirit.

  4. Lynda, I believe all our pets listen and understand us. I don't have one anymore but would always talk to mine like they were people. I enjoyed their company.

After having so many family around, it would seem too quiet for you right now but the quietness can be our friend too.

Sure hope that little Lopez gets listening to you soon, he's going to be such a cuddly wee pet, you'll wonder how you managed without him. :)

I did my laundry this morning and I'm still packing for my move this Friday. Same apartment building but moving to a ground floor apartment, that will be better for me now.

Lots of love and hugs from me to you, Fred, your family and your fur babies. xoxo

  5. Our doggies are a lot of company to me and so are our cats. I must seem crazy because I'm always talking to them too. ;-) Actually, they are the ones forcing me out of my home to exercise with them. Glad your DD and her family made it safely back home. It would be nice to have a group of friend to get together with. Have a beautiful Sunday.

  6. Good morning! We did get the virus. In the very beginning. Before the shots and pills. We are in our 60’s. I slept for three days and then didn’t know what to do with myself since at the time, quarantine was 14 days. I cleaned closets and the pantry. Lol. Did learn about grocery delivery and that Amazon has anything. Ha ha
My secrets weapon was zinc. Seemed to work well and the fact that my immune system was a retired teacher of 35 years! We were exposed to everything, back in the day!
My dogs are everything! I talk to them all the time!
    Have a wonderful day!

  7. Knock on wood (My Mother's expression) we have not had Covid. We are vaccinated and boosted so I feel if we do it will be mild like you. Our dog the 97lb Newfoundland has been great company for us . . . we both talk to her. I know she understands us because she definitely when I say treat or walk or bed. They are such good listeners.
Still hot here in NH and maybe some rain relief tonight or tomorrow

  8. I bet part of Lopez's problem is he's missing you. We know they smell we are near...but sometimes they want to see us, too.
Does Sushi ever like to cuddle? Haven't heard you mention her in quite a while.
The good thing about pets is...we are never alone, and they don't talk back...well, mostly.
    Just chillin' here today. Wonderful day in MN...around 80F, not as humid, nice mix of clouds and sun. Getting a bit of laundry done (I don't want to wander around here naked). SO happy to have my computer back. {{{HUGS}}}

  9. I know our animals listen to us and understand! I miss mine something terrible. They are so much company...yall would be lost too without your animals. We're cleaning out our guest room to be painted. Strange how it takes soo long for workers to respond. Wait 3 weeks for this then 3-4 more weeks to paint 🥺 Yes, I'm impatient 🤣🤣 Have a wonderful day 😍

  10. I'm sorry you feel so alone right now after your children and grandchildren were all around. Last summer my daughter's family came up from Virginia and for the first time in several years my children were all here together - even their dad came. I remember how sad and empty it felt after they all left again knowing it would be awhile before it happened again. Life changes and personally, I'm not always okay with that. Oh, and I find my little Daisy is much better to talk with than my husband - she totally gets me!

  11. Sounds like you are feeling a little down. I did lots of yard work - mowing , weed whacking, etc today and then spent time just floating around in my pool - feeling sorry for myself.....but I have a good life and must focus on the positives....a family who loves me, a beautiful home and property that I can still take care of....so I must not have a pity me party and just enjoy my two cats and a home that I love that has my many wonderful memories of my precious husband whom I miss so much. Life is good. I will keep on going and doing as long as I can and thank God for all my blessings!

  12. Apparently the newer Covid variant is catching a lot of folks off guard. Hospitals are filling up again. Need more nurses again. Blah. I may never see the inside of any store again, it’s been 2. 1/2 years already! I’m so glad your daughter returned home safely! And your son is flying already. At least you all were together. Glorioski! Another year of unruliness. Due to fools not staying home. Take care there, wear your mask when you shop. Good luck. Ethelmerz
