I am convinced that to-day's world does not allow one to save money--'specially if one is on a fixed income----It seems more like, there is never enough money!-- Anyway, we searched for the same kind of microwave, and we found one model, at Canadian Tire---Of course the price is more----- so, that is where we were this morning-- Son#3, the Policeman, called last evening saying, "Mom, there is one model at Canadian Tire, so if you are there at 8am, you can buy it."--- AND---We were at the store right at 8am-- and we have the new one here --not set up yet--but--it's here!
It seems everyday there is some kind of dilemma---something breaks --or needs to be fixed--or something----BUT---- yesterday I did get my hair done--It feels so much better!--and I did a few errands--while I was out--the pet store--It was Srs day at the Pet store and I saved $25 by going on Srs Day----also found a few pair of jeans on sale--buy one pr- get the next half price--AND THEY FIT
So, I need to vacuum--- I found some fresh pickerel in the freezer which we will have for supper, with fresh Ontario corn--and a salad-- Yu wanna come for dinner?-- --just head North----to Elliot Lake and ask anyone and they will point yu in our direction----- A good mood will give yu a good day---We are alive--- We might as well enjoy our life!
Your hair looks great!
ReplyDeleteSaving money...whats That? Doing good to manage on a fixed income with inflation.
Sorry about your microwave...things don't last. Glad you were able to get a new one.
You scored a deal on pet supplies and that feels good.
I'd love to come for dinner. Sure sounds healthy.
New jeans..Wahoo.
Enjoy your day!
Hugs
Happy to hear you are having a good day Lynda. Not so good here. DH went in to hospital yesterday with a heart attack. Don't know his condition yet this morning but will keep praying for good news.
ReplyDeleteWillow--Oh no--poor yu--- another thing for yu to worry about-- How are "YOU" doing?--I shall pray that he is OK--- AND YOU-Lynda
DeletePraying for you and your husband Willow.
DeleteOH so sorry to hear about the microwave! Would be lost without it. They are not bult like they used to be, sadly. Glad you got the heads-up from Son #3 and able to get the same model microwave. That makes things easier!
ReplyDeleteYou’re right. Hard to save money in this day and age. So far, for us, waiting a part to be replaced in my car and for our refrigerator (though both are working acceptably, thankfully). Never ends.
That's wonderful you were able to get your hair done. WE ALL need pampering! Looks nice.
Glad you were able to save a little money shopping on Srs. day.
Ohhhhh, your supper sounds scrumptious! Enjoy.
Here’s to a good day!

I agree with you that seems like something stops working each day LOL! I don't know why but that kind of give me laughing attacks, you're not done with one thing and there comes the other! Great savings and great buys. You look awesome. Have a pretty Friday and an awesome weekend.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the microwave. I actually killed my microwave. It was working fine but I did something and ended up putting the wrong amount of time to cook my dinner and started a small fire but caught it in time so all it did was kill the microwave and my dinner!!! One thing I did discover (I was also able to get the same microwave) but they had changed how things work on them. So there is a small learning curve!!
ReplyDeleteI love your hair. I have not had a hair cut for over 3 years and it so needs it but I am waiting hoping Covid will go far far far away. I have to admit it is easy to take care of long I just pull it up into a pony tail and I am nice and cool.
You are right the older we get all our stuff is getting older and we have to replace them. And since most were bought at the same time it gets really expensive.
Great job on all your new purchases. You are going to feel like a new woman with pants that fit and show off your new body!!
Your hair looks great!
ReplyDeleteYour fish dinner sounds good, too.
Too bad about the microwave. The last thing that broke on me was a tall stand fan from Walmart. It gave out after to seasons. Others here have had the same unit and it is still working after several years. Go figure.
My ex-husband used to say, "Well, well, well...three holes in the ground."
Have you heard from or tried the sitter for Himself yet?
It's Friday, so I will wish you all a wonderful weekend.
We have karaoke to morrow night at our Eagles club, and Monday is my birthday. 76 y/o!

Lynda, you hair looks great! And a great buy on new pants, too! Broken microwave, I worry about ours, too. It is over ten years old at least, came with the house. I have a plumber coming, issue out in the yard, a sewer cover is broken, needs to be fixed some stuff does not get in there. Plumbers charge a lot, plus it is over 102 degrees and 107 feels like temp here. $$$. Oh Willow, wishing your dear husband well! My son who lives with me came down with Covid, caught from someone at work! I hope I am not next. Fingers crossed. Ethelmerz
ReplyDeleteMy mom had her microwave for over 20 years. They didn't use it a lot but it lasted until she died. We have had to replace ours about every 3-4 years - like yours, it would just stop working! I am also concerned about all these things being on a fixed income!
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great. Good deal on the jeans - they are getting expensive. Glad you were able to get a new microwave so quickly. I'd be lost without mine. Dinner sounds really good.
ReplyDeleteI think my microwave is 21 years old... I bought it when I moved in here. You never can tell what will last longer and what will fall apart all too soon, can you, these days?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I agree your hair looks lovely! And hope you have a good weekend coming up here!
I bought all new appliances for the kitchen about a year ago, and read lots of reviews. I ended up buying an over the range microwave that was rated really high and has a 10 yr warranty on the magnetron. I also have American Home Shield which takes care of all the appliances should they go south. I'm waiting on the furnace/air conditioner/water heater to go out so I can get new. They are over 20 years old. I pay monthly to have this coverage, and can maybe get rid of it once those are replaced.
