Yu can't control everything!

Well, hello!! We have a rainy day--- a very humid day too-- I had to turn the AC on as the humidity is very high in the house-- To-morrow I guess I will go for bananas-- because, this afternoon is "hair day"--I  cannot go to too many places in one day--The picture below, is what I really look like this morning--
It has been 2 weeks since I had a hair-do--due to that Covid virus--

Can you do many errands in one day?-It is not easy leaving Himself too long also. I am in the process of having some kind of "Home Care" sending out a woman to sit with Himself , so that I will be able to get out and know that he is safe at home--not falling--(and that probably will go over , with him, like a lead balloon!)_

I have also called our wonderful "Handyman" who is going to power wash the deck down off the basement patio-- All the rain that we have had, has left some kind of slippery fungus growing on it, and I hope he can get rid of that for me.--hopefully on the nice sunny day--

I took all the bananas I had yesterday and made banana bread--3 loaves-- and--I forgot the baking powder---  so, the loaves did not rise--  They taste OK, but look pretty weird--You know, one should not attempt to bake when one is not in the mood--I put them in the freezer anyway--- but it is a lesson to me not to attempt to do more than one feels like--Someone told me that I should've frozen the bananas---- I must remember that! --  Himself refused to eat any of it--Maybe the looks of the loaves will not turn him off, in time-- I really need a "cook" I think-- but----that is not going to happen--There are days that one should really not try to do the impossible, doncha feel?-

Lopez is screeching--time to get him out ---I hope yer day is going well!--Is it?---- Hugs to yu all--

  1. I try not to schedule more than one appointment in a day, and when I have an away from the house errand or two, I seem to want to stop at home in between. "Slowing down" from the young mom days when I was doing a gazillion things before and/or after a full work-day. How did we ever do it all?

Here's wishing you a good hair day!

  2. Good idea to have someone to help at home sit with your DH. The handyman, the banana bread, you're such a productive awesome woman! Wow! The Queen must be so admired of you. Have a super pretty day.

  3. Yes, trying to do too much usually leads to less than stellar results. The banana bread...is what it is.
Glad to hear you are trying to arrange respite care so you don't have to worry about Fred falling when you need to be gone. And you do need time away.
How did we ever accomplish so much at home while working FT and taking care of our Families?
    Enjoy your outing.
    Be safe.

  4. I do not like to have an agenda with too many things on it for one day! I try to get all my grocery/hardware/etc shopping in the same day so I don't have to go out again for a couple of days! Since gas prices are so high lately, it made sense to me to consolidate trips....but I understand that you can't be gone too long. Hope the "care lady" can free you up to do some things! And yes, I always freeze my over ripe bananas.....but now I have a freezer full of them! Will make bread some day and will not forget the baking powder - as your blog will be a good reminder to me!

  5. It was me that told you about freezing bananas. They are only god for baking after that. I have a bunch frozen. That's what I do when they get riper than I like to eat them. I will make banana bread someday, too.
I have had an experience with a chocolate cake I made every birthday...falling flat! No idea what I did wrong. Haven't made it since. At least you know what you did wrong!
Lucky you getting your hair done. I am waiting a few weeks til I get the rent rebate Minnesota gives us.
    All else is fine with me. Cooler weather and less humidity for us this week. Sure hope it doesn't mean the start of an early autumn! ;-( {{{HUGS}}}

  6. I thought it was just me when all of a sudden (well it felt that way) I could not longer do more than one or maybe two errands in a day and I am exhausted. I know part of it for me is having to wear a mask. I know it is a smart thing to do and I understand that which is why I force myself to do it. I hyperventilate when I wear one.

Glad you are looking for someone who can be with himself when you need to be out and about. All you need to be doing while you are out and about is worrying about himself. Maybe they will send someone who has the same interests as himself and he will enjoy the company. Praying that is the case.

Sorry about the banana bread. That sounds like something I would do. Which is a good reminder to all of us if we are tired we should be relaxing not overdoing it!

Enjoy your rain. Can you send it my way. The next 3 days are going to be in the 100's and then it cools (?????) down to the 90's! I love the 70's.

  7. I consider it a GOOD day if I accomplish one thing!! There are days when I actually get four or five errands/tasks complete BUT my goal is ONE…anything above that is a bonus!! ❤️ Eissa7

  8. Hoping your hair day was grand! Aren’t there men that also sit with folks who are alone at home? Maybe Himself would like a guy around. Does he have any male friends left, perhaps he out lived them all. It should not cost anything, if it is not a long time, like all day, no cooking required. Oh yes, leaving something out of a recipe, that can happen to any age person…fear not. Hope your hair did well.

  9. I always freeze my overipe bananas for baking at a later date and they have worked out great that way. Hope you have a good hair day. I like the idea of having someone come a spot you while you run errands or get your hair done . . .that way you don't have to worry while you are out.
