The Lord Will Fight For You!

Whatta difference a day makes--Yesterday I was pulling apart the study--the computer room--lugging "stuff" down to the rec room-- taking up "stuff" from there to,  where I can load it up , ready to go to the seamstress , who takes it ,  to where , I don't know--maybe she keeps it--or sells it--I did all this to get rid of some very old phones-- and since I disconnected these very old phones, the computer has stayed online--AND the remaining phones-! ----It was a lot of work tho--upstairs--downstairs--with boxes of junk--When one has lived in a house for so long, the junk just accumulates as the years roll by---
This bookcase  is not needed anymore--- so, if any of yu are in need of it, let me know-- I am having a problem getting anyone to pick it up--pandemic times I guess-
Some of yu were asking if we still have Sushi-- I don't mention her too much, as she just blends in----lives indoors--still comes in every night to jump up on the bed, clamour across both Himself  and I--lies on my chest , and purrs--She visits us every night-- 2--or 3 times a night! If you remember, she was the feral kitten who came in from the cold, one December----The people who run the place who takes in cats for the city, would not take her, as they said , because she was feral, she was unadaptable- so, I went online and there was a site, "How to train a Feral cat"-- It took me 3 mos to get her out from under our bed--
Well, I am jabbering on here--

Isn't it so good that there is always another day?-- Yesterday , I was so tired, trying to de-junk one room---I was going to go for groceries as the bananas are way too ripe--but---as Mom used to say, "There is always another day"--  maybe these over ripe bananas will go into banana bread--
I hope yu all have a good day--  and hopefully the good Lord WILL fight for you!

  1. Yes! Decluttering is hard work! I have been trying to get rid of stuff too! I don't want my kids to have to deal with all of my stuff after I am gone! And I have noticed that it is easier to clean when there is less stuff in a room! My church had a rummage sale and I donated a lot! I had more to take there, but ran out of time as my son and his family from CA came to visit for 2 weeks! Guess I will have to find another place to donate to as I still have a lot to get rid of - things I never use or things of my late husband.....all things my 4 kids do not want! Glad to hear that your technology is working for you again! And love the picture and update on Sushi! Such a pretty kitty!

  2. Oh for sure, the longer you live in a home, it seems like things just multiply exponentially.

Glad that Sushi is adapting sooooo well with your TLC! Quite the miracle child! I remember you talking about how cold it was and how can she survive! She is beautiful! Such a regal pose!

Glad that disconnecting the old phones was the answer to the internet problem! Yeah.

Your meme is truth . . . keep calm, the Lord will fight for you. Amen!

HUGS and have a wonderful Wednesday.

  3. That is a lot of work and I so know how things accumulate when you live in a home forever. I've been in this house 40 years now. I try to go through things every so often but that has been put aside for awhile now with my back pain. I can't wait to heal so I can get back to it!

  4. The harder I try to get rid of stuff, the more it inspires the hubs to bring in more. We go to the garage to get the lawnmower and he picks up tools to bring in the house....now why does one need tools in the house??? Like tree limb choppers? and next he will want to bring the riding mower in...........Our little feral bob tail kitty who would not adjust to being in the house followed her friend cat across the street and got hit, so she is buried out here in the yard.

  5. Honey, freeze your bananas...slice first if you wish. Then they will be saved for banana bread, banana cream pie, banana nice cream (vegan ice cream...the bananas make it creamy).
Glad you wrote about Sushi. Does she ever interact with the dogs?
I understand about clearing out junk. We probably all do. We have a table in our community room and room around it. Residents will put stuff there they no longer want for someone else to take it. Sometimes we will bring a load to the Good Will store for resale cheaply to someone who will want it.
The bookcase looks great. I have no room for it, though, nor a way to get it. Do you have a local thrift shop that may pick it up?

  6. Hi Lynda, you worked your tail off. It is work to purge, but has to be done. IF you relocate in Spring, as you mentioned, it could be overwhelming if you wait.. Best to tackle it a room at a time. Keep, pitch and donate piles. It actually feels good to purge and is much easier to clean.
Sushi is beautiful. She is very fortunate to have picked a patient lady!!
Yes...the Lord will fight for You!
Glad the internet situation has improved. Phones can find a new home. Kids dont want our stuff and purging is doing them a big favor. Carry on.

  8. Oh yes, getting rid of things already wears out the mind, with all the decision making. We got rid of stuff when we moved to Texas 9 years ago, after living at that house 31 years. But husband passed 6 years ago, I still have trouble giving his clothes away, personal things, too many memories. My clothes I’m getting rid of, we just bag it and leave at the door. Or linens, towels, blankets. Thick costs and jackets from when we lived in the mountains. Don’t need those in Texas. They give that to the homeless. Ethelmerz

  9. The never-ending job: de-cluttering. I'm not very good at it. I will binge on it, get the place sort of me-functional, then stop until it becomes overwhelming again. You're doing great! Happy Wednesday!

  10. Glad you were able to get rid of the old phones and that it seems the problem is solved. Clearing out stuff takes forever. Done it a couple of times and still always seem to have way too much stuff. Salvation Army used to pick up stuff but had stopped during the pandemic and someone picked up for Diabetes Association. Maybe they are now if you have them up there. Could use the wall unit but no place to put it! Good luck.
