Life is a Gift--

Lots going on here--  Good day to you all--  *S*--I look at the above picture and I see an 80 yr old woman---  wrinkles plus plus plus--That is OK I guess  as each wrinkle is earned--

I am late posting-AGAIN-- Himself has needed attention--  He walks around with a cane--tapping it here and there, as he walks, which  he uses at times, to keep the dogs from doing or going somewhere, where he doesn't want them to be--and there have been times I've been the brunt of "the cane" also-----  so, ----Lopez tried to deal with the cane last night--- attacked it---- When I saw what was happening, the cane waving around in the air, with  the Chihuahua  trying to  stop it-- --I went running and put a stop to the "cane"---  and life returned to normal--sort of------and it must've upset  the Chihuahua enough that he pee-ed in his crate in the night--woke me up---something that has never happened in the 2 yrs we have had him--There I was out outside at 4am  with Lopez---

Lordy be , you never know what is going to happen--  I have a DR coming here Friday morning to talk to himself and me--- He is from the hospital in Sudbury and deals with people  living with "life time old age  issues "---etc etc--

And now  there is good news--I received a call this AM telling me that I now have a new Doctor-- FOR ME---  My other Dr retired---- so--I shall go into the clinic and sign on to his roster--

So, there is always good news mixed with not so good news it seems--I guess that is "Life" nowadays--- and we must  dwell on the good stuff---

and ---- no use caving in--- (altho I wonder  somedays if it just might be better to dig a hole and climb into it)----  but---- we are not Ostriches-----so we may as well deal with everything that is thrown at us!
Life really is a gift---and we CAN deal with it----It's just that some days are easier  than others---

------------------------Being Strong is the key!----------but, I know you all are very strong people--because you have to be---Right?

  1. Life really can be tough Lynda, we just have to show it that we're tougher!!

You may get some good advice about what/how to deal with Fred's issues, from the doctor who is coming there. I know it's not Fred's fault, it is an 'age issue' but it's not your fault either. Oh dear, I don't know if I'm putting this right. Anyhow, I'll sure be thinking of the two of you.

Yes, that cane would upset a wee dog like Lopez and you know, these dogs may be small in build but they do have huge hearts and really love the ones they live with. Did you know they actually 'bond' with only one person in the house? Lopez has bonded with you so Fred waving that cane would get Lopez's hackles up!

It's a new day, Winter has ended, it gives us hope that Spring is here and soon it will be so nice out again.

Love and lots of hugs to you, Fred and your fur children xoxo

  2. Yep, trees get rings and people get wrinkles -- both signs of maturation. Hugs as you deal with all the life changes that come with maturity.

  3. "Every wrinkle earned"... for sure. The price we pay for extra trips 'round the sun. I hope the doctor doing the home visit has some good advice / help for you in dealing with "old-timers" issues. We've all got those kinds of issues in one measure or another!

(( hugs )) And may Lopez calm down!

  5. With all our problems, at least the weather is better! Sometimes i need to remember to think about what I love.

Poor sweet Lopez! He was feeling a lot of stress! Too bad he doesn't understand why Himself uses the cane. He must think it's attacking him.

    Looking at our photos or in the mirror? I sometimes wonder who that old woman is! Our looks my be going, but our wisdom keeps growing! {{{HUGS}}}

  7. Sure hope the dementia Dr. provides some suggestions or help of some type for Fred and you.
Lopez probably got upset as he thought you were in danger from cane...maybe. Sorry Lopez got you up way early with his accident.
Good news on new Dr. for you.
I see all those wrinkles in the mirror and at times I shock myself. We'll call those mature lines ...lol ...like rings on a tree. Gotta stay strong although some days I want to run away. We all have issues or loved one with issues we have to deal with.
Take a nap. Play your piano.
    Hugs

  8. I'm really glad the doctor is finally coming.I think maybe his meds need changing or something. Canes can be very dangerous. My grandmother (years ago) almost killed my aunt as she hit her with her cane right around her temple. Dogs get afraid of them. I am currently using one as I'm having trouble walking and my dog gets freaked out sometimes. Lopez was just trying to protect you. Give him a hug! Please make sure the doctor knows everyting that goes on. Glad you got a new doctor. And don't worry about the wrinkles. I've got lots to and am younger than you! You are strong and you have more important things to worry about. Relax and play the piano. It will calm you down.

  9. Oh Lynda! So sorry to hear about Fred and his cane upsetting Lopez and you! Just as others have responded, I believe that Lopez was feeling threatened and was protecting you. Happy to hear that the Dementia Doc will be visiting and hopefully will be able to help you deal with Fred. I know frustrating this is for you! As for looking in the mirror - I too see so many wrinkles. I will be 76 next month and I tell myself that it is just part of aging.....besides why would I need a flawless beautiful skin now as I am definitely not out looking to find a man. Don't think I could ever find one as good as the one I lost! I can't believe I have been alone for 4 years, but I am coping and trying to live the best life I can. It's like you said "Life is tough, so we have to be strong!"

  10. Best of luck when that dementia doctor comes and visits. Sounds like something dangerous could happen, living with a person with dementia. I don’t know if meds help anything these days. And the 31st is next Friday, be careful of yourself. Ethelmerz. Still getting over Covid.
