Fish and Fries in Gibraltar

Well--that  is me----this morning-----totally pooped!!  ---  It seems that everyday  is a challenge. Yesterday groceries--- then packing them away--  then Son#1's Birthday-- at his restaurant- and I promised him that I would make a jello cake--so--that took up the afternoon--so much so, that we were an hour late getting to the restaurant----and this week has been busy--

This morning I was cleaning floors---  Down by the door that goes into the garage , looked like an army had marched thru there---I think it was from the real estate Lady showing 150 thousand viewers thru this house, WITH THEIR SHOES ON----  a herd of them--I must speak to her about that.----  Also, I will tell her that people coming thru here  should not be longer than three quarter of an hour--not two or four hours----  Lord love a Duck! --I'm about ready to chuck it all-------

To change the subject, Son#2 found a beach--- on his way to Spain--The pictures are awesome--

Now don't yu jess wish we were all there?--It looks warm----sunny---and  totally wonderful!

Son#1 has returned with Himself, who had a Cat Scan --They certainly weren't long there--  AND I DID NOT HAVE TO TAKE HIM---this is to get him ready for the surgery in June--Thursday,  a Dr comes from Sudbury to talk to Himself and me---  about his "losing of the mind"--or Dementia --or --whatever is going on in his head--

Holy Cow--a "food picture" just came in from Son#2--   He says he is in Gibraltar ---like-----Who gets to go there??----ever nice eh?---

so--We all need a holiday--- Maybe we ALL should pack up and head to that beach-- What do yu think?

-Yes, I guess that is the best thing we can do for now--"doing our best"----because  are stronger than we think --and NO ONE can do better!

  1. I must tell you - last week I found a nice card for Marvin and today I sat down to write his address on the envelope and write a few lines to him. I wondered what his place was like, so I typed the name into Google and it took me right to where he's living. It's an amazing looking place. The website has a built in virtual tour so you can see the different types of rooms, and the various rooms they have for different things - including one for tending to plants! I glanced at the menu for the week and the calendar for his section. It includes Bingo so that made me smile. There's bus tours and an ice cream day and all sorts of activities. No wonder he's so busy and happy! The link for the website is https://www.lambtoncares.ca/long-term-care-homes/north-lambton/ (You might have to copy and paste it into the browser). I really enjoyed seeing the place and you plus the others here might too. I finished writing out the card and have decided two things. From now on I'm typing and printing my text to go into cards, and I'll print the address for the card and tape it on the envelope. My typing is difficult (currently about 4 fingertips are mostly numb), but my handwriting is awful these days. I'm heading for bed so you must be just getting your day going.

OH. I learned a new phrase today. PwP - which stands for Plop when Pooped! It's something I have to do often these days, but it's better than going too far and overdoing it. ❤️

  2. Oh the fish and fries looks yummy ...I do love me a good fish fry especially if someone else has the mess to clean up. It looks lovely here in NH but it is cold and very windy from the North so I am staying inside catching up on inside chores as well as making a grocery list and a tentative menu for the up coming weekend. I grocery shop on Thursday usually.
I am so glad that doctor is finally coming to talk to you . . .it has been a long time coming. If he can help yo get the assistance you need it might allow you to be able to stay where you are and not have to "upset the apple cart" by moving himself in his fragile state. Please be frank and honest with the doctor and not paint a rosy picture or he will not get the magnitude of your situation. Remember you are that young either and being the sole caregiver is stressful for you everyday . . . even the good ones because you never know what is going to trigger an episode.

  3. Yes, Lynda! Lets have a blog reunion on that beach with some of that food! Maybe your son could pick us up like he did on your birthday and take us all there. Maybe he'd forget to pick us up again. ;-) We'd have to bring our pets, though. When my son sent me to Hawaii and I had to leave Lucky and had trouble finding him when I returned (due to them moving him and my apartment contents during the rehab), I promised him I'd never leave him again for more than a day trip.
Glad the doctor is coming for Himself. Those helper ladies never did reschedule, huh?
We have a lady here in my building who's husband was just moved to a Alz care facility. It was time.
At least Himself knows you, his kids, his pets. I know it gets difficult dealing with his issues though.
Good news! On one of my email newsletters (either AARP or WebMD) is said doctors have discovered that having online friends, games, etc. dramatically lowers the chance of dementia.
I know we need to have balance: work/leisure, spiritual connection, physicallity/rest, balance in our diets, etc,.
I have added squats and lunges to my exercise routine cuz they are helpful to keep our balance.
Went out again today to friend's home who have a driveway full of lilac bushes! First to Goodwill to get more vases, Got enough for my 'big sis,' Joanne, our apt manager, my neighbor Terry and my cat.
He insists on smelling and nibbling on them. Web says may be a bit of gastrointestinal issues, but that's all. Thankfully, it seems once he satisfied his curiosity, he has stopped.
    I am pooped already, too.
I have seen on tv people looking at houses are either required to take their shoes off or put on little paper booties over their shoes. Yes, be sure to check with the realtor.
I don't believe you ever said whether that house you looked at was at all suitable...
Believe I am goinna take a brief nap with my kitty curled up next to me.
    Until tomorrow...{{{HUGS}}}

    1. Yes--that beach sure looked devine!--And no, the helper ladies said they could come at--like 8am to 10am--crazy times!--That house I looked at --the last one---was totally not suitable----Hopefully a better one will come up-- Oh--I get to go on Friday again to another one-Lynda

  4. Lynda, realtor SHOULD be asking folks to t put on surgical booties or remove shoes.. thats how its done here.. and YES, if this was just one showing vs an open house there is NO REASON anyone should be at your house for hours. Either they are truly interested or they aren't but 4 hrs is crazy. Prospects also need pre-approval on financing. I hope your realtor isn't wasting your time on snoopers.
Did you not like the house in town? No fence or yard for dogs?
Glad son took himself for test. Much better for you.
Glad Dr. finally coming. Time to be brutally honest. Hoping Dr has some information/suggestions/help for you. Those 2 ladies never rescheduled? You need help.
Great beaches and tasty food pics. I know you'd enjoy being on that beach.
Glad you had time with family for sons BD...even if you were late. Had to get that cake done.
Hoping today is an easier day. Take time to play your piano.
    Hugs

    1. Sound about right with your realtor comments. 4 hours is much too long.

    2. No--- the last house I looked at was nice outside in the front--but , inside --unsuitable-- no fenced in yard either--I see another one on Friday--but--I'm trying not to get my hopes up- Lynda

  5. Good to know, folks in Gibraltar eat the same stuff as we do, lol! So finally, that special doctor should come tomorrow. I wish you would have done videos of Himself when he flies into a rage, to show. You are not making this up!! Plus men in authority like to downplay what women say, pat them on the hand and act like it’s ok for you to be in misery! You have a right to be safe, too!! That realtor seems like she booked an open house! And here too, the clients are checked beforehand to see if they can afford the house!!! No Lookyloos!! Gee whiz….

  6. Hi Lynda,
I have been reading your posts, just not commenting.
I am sorry that you have all the pressure on you. Your grandkids
should be able to help during the summer. When I was young my
grandmother broke her leg. My 2 sisters and I stayed w/her all
summer until she could get back on her "feet". She enjoyed it and
so did we. We had a great time feeding the animals, cleaning the house, and push mowing the yard. It took the 3 of us all day to mow. Well it is just a thought. Hugs!! I will keep you in my prayers.

  8. It's Kathy - I also feel like that first lady in the chair. With the weather finally being acceptable I have been spending so much time in my garden trying to get it ready to plant. I was hoping to be done today but nope - and rain comes tomorrow. Maybe that's a good thing. I'm so glad your son took himself for the cat scan. It's also good that you will see another doctor about himself not being himself. I can't even imagine how hard that is for you even on the best days! I've never heard of a jello cake - sounds pretty delicious!

    1. a jello cake is just a cake mix--- when cool after baking you pour jello into it in homes--let that set and ice it with real whipped cream----and hi Kathy-- Lynda

  9. Hi Lynda….You have been thru “the wringer”, as my Mom used to say!
Always so busy….so glad you were able to rely on Son to take Himself!
I’m wondering if a Son can be present for the doctor visit …. You know, the more ears, the better OR would that just upset him?
You do need to tell the realtor to be aware of respecting your time and property! You don’t need to clean up after strangers, nor vacate your home for hours when it’s being shown! Take good care…❤️ Eissa7

  10. Hi Lynda: gorgeous beach pictures your son sent & the food pic too. Can 1 of your sons be there when the doctor comes. Himself may cooperate more. Re long showings that is not what is done. 1/2 hour to 3/4 hour max. And take shoes off before coming through. Hope you find something out when doctor comes. And you need to relax more instead of working so hard. Hugs Brenda

  11. Yes, realtor took way too long...and I hope Himself acts up with the boys as he did with you the other day.....My house is now "live" and signed so praying it sells for the asking price which is quite reasonable and gets gone.

  12. I sure can identify with you being exhausted! You've had quite a lot of stuff going on the last few days! Thinking I understand your dismay at the mess in your house from the "visitors" but thinking it is wonderful that many people are tramping through it as you need to sell it and the more people that come to see it, the better the chances that the right people will come along! Keep thinking positive thoughts! It will happen!

  13. Oh my goodness! Sorry that the people the realtor showed through your house weren’t courteous! When we sold our home in Illinois to move to Wisconsin, the realtor was really good about having people put shoe covers on or take their shoes off.

I am glad that your DS was able to take Himself for his CT san. And hope that the Dr visit helps pinpoint things with Himself so appropriate help can be gotten.

Oh my . . . those fish and chips look wonderful!

Ready to head to that beach!

Well, I hope that the Dr. helps. You need a BREAK!
